If I had to pick my all-time favorite band it'd probably be Guns'n'Roses but there are tonnes of bands I'm into. Prepare to be immensely bored while I list them all:
Bloodhound Gang
Garbage
Limp Bizkit
Linkin Park
Spineshank
The Bangles
Roxette (don't laugh - I used to love them when I was 10 years old!!)
Gorillaz
Stone Roses
The Jam
Catatonia
Gun
Blur (up until 1997 when they started going downhill)
Travis (before '99)
Stereophonics (before '99)
Idlewild
Kid Rock
Nirvana
The Pixies...
The list goes on...
I could be here all day but you probably won't even have heard of most of them. I don't know how popular they are/were in the States.

I don't think Blur ever went "downhill". I just think Damon Abarn was sick of the "Britpop" war and wanted to experiment. Their 97' self-titled record is really good actually, even '13' is good as well.
The Jam. 99.9% of the U.S. population have never heard of them. But it's funny, because my next door neighbor used to blast The Jam, as well as Madness in his backyard all the time.
You don't like Travis' new stuff? The Man Who is a pleasant album. Mind you, I've only heard snippets of Good Feeling so I'm biased.
Roxette. It's okay, don't be embarrassed, I used to like their stuff too. But that was ten years ago!
Stone Roses. Cool. Ian Brown looks like a monkey. Really, he does. "Fools Gold" is my favorite song by them.
It's ironic, because every American artist you chose I absolutely hate. Except Linkin Park...no matter how hard it is for me to admit it, I do like them.
Limp and Kid Rock need to go away. And I think Nirvana is slightly overrated. If it wasn't them as being the fathers of grunge, it would of been Soundgarden of Pearl Jam...
Nice choices, anyway.

Oh Cokies, that's amazing - you've actually heard of those bands! I'm sooooo impressed! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Blur definately have gone downhill in my opinion. I really liked their self-titled album but after that they have never been the same. I didn't like '13' at all. However I really love what Damon is doing now with Gorillaz. If you haven't heard anything by them you really have to find a copy of their album cos it's one of the best albums of the year!
That's so cool how your neighbour listens to The Jam - they are a classic band. I never really liked Madness though - I was never into all that ska stuff.
I think Travis are a bit bland now. Their first album 'Good Feeling' was really good and I liked 'The Man Who' as well but both those albums were different from one another. Their new album doesn't seem to have evolved at all and it's getting a bit stale now.
You like the Stone Roses? I am not worthy! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/cool.gif
How come you know of all these British bands anyway?

Blur is definitely different from 'Parklife' and the like now, but they're still okay.
I do have the Gorrilaz album, and it's really eccentric. I love 'Punk', and 'Rock Da House'. And of course, Clint Eastwood is the coolest video I've seen in a long time.
Yeah, my neighbor USED to be cool. He was a couple of years older than me, so I sort of grew up with him. Too bad, once he hit high school he decided to be poser and listen to Puff Daddy and Biggie. If I went up to him today, and mentioned The Jam, he'd totally deny liking them. A shame, really.
The Invisible Band is very similiar to The Man Who, now that you metioned it. I guess you could call that bland.
I like The Stone Roses! 'The Complete Stone Roses' is a top priority for me. I still have yet to buy it. I've eyed it in the record store times and times again. Soon, though.
How do I know of all these British bands?
Well, I was always a big fan of Oasis( they are my favorite band, actually), and I always admired British artists. They've all tended to be the best. The Beatles, The Stones, The Clash, Oasis, Blur, and even popular ones today, like Coldplay, and Travis.
I think my whole fascination with the whole British thing started two years ago. I was sick of Ricky Martin, and Limp, and Korn and the like. I basically hated our Top 40. So, I turned to the internet, and started looking up other music from other places. So then, I ended up reading magazines like NME and Q. The rest is history.

Mossop, I have also heard of all those bands, although I cannot comment on them extensively because I am not overly familiar with them. I like Garbage and te Bloodhound Gang is ok. The Pixies are cool...Kim Deal is from my hometown. Have you ever heard of the Breeders? That was a band both Deal sisters were in together. Of course they were fairly big in my hometown, but I am not really aware of how big they mad it in the rest of America/the world.

Oh you HAVE to get 'The Complete Stone Roses' - it's an amazing album!!!
Is it easy to get hold of Q and NME and stuff in America? I wouldn't have expected them to be widely available over there. Did you ever read Select magazine? That was my favorite music mag until it went out of business last year.
Bootsy - I have heard of The Breeders but I haven't actually heard any of their songs. I'll keep a look-out for some of their CD's next time I go shopping.

Q is the easiest to find. I usually go to Borders. Barnes and Noble SOMETIMES has those magazines, but rarely. Borders is always my safest bet. Of course, the magazine costs me ten bucks each time. Kind of expensive. But most of the time, it's worth it.
Select sounds really familiar, but I can't pinpoint it.
Next time I go to the record store, 'The Complete Stone Roses' is mine!
Before you go to shopping, you should download The Breeders' 'Cannonball'. I'm sure you've heard it. It probably their most popular song, I'd bet.

Been a fan since 1994, and the fact that I'm coming up from Fla. to see them in NYC in a few days(not my 1st trip out the the state to see them, either!!!)...well, that's definitely saying something of the 'impact' their music has had on me.
