I didn't really think I would like the show when I read what it was about, but after the first 2 episodes, I am so far. It's charming and feels perfect for a Friday Night.

Agreed. It has some funny moments, too. Jack is the new "McDreamy." Episode 2 was very much on par with the charming pilot. Dramas these days are so good for some reason.

I'm not a drama person, but I saw that Anne heche was in it and i sat down... it was pretty good, I got wrapped into it really quick, both episodes were nice.....

I think ABC may have found a show that works on Fridays!

ABC moved in front at 9 p.m. with a new "Men in Trees," 5.3/10. "Close to Home" kept CBS in second with a 4.2/8. "Celebrity Duets," 3.2/6, came in third for FOX, beating out NBC's "Las Vegas" repeat. "Reba" and "Living with Fran" averaged 1.1/2 for The WB.

5.3/10 is decent, hopefully it gets a bit better because that was what around In Justice was getting usually on good days. I think Men in Trees will do even better next week when GA is airing before it.

It was airing against reruns though. Next week will probably be a better indication.

Ouch. This isn't good. :( (From Futon):

As for "Trees," said premiere was nearly identical to the one-hour season premiere of "Hope & Faith" in the Friday, 9:00/8:00c hour (households: 5.3/9; adults 18-49: 2.2 on 9/30/05). Considering those "Hope" numbers were against all first-run competition, "Trees" likely has a hard road ahead.

Wow, that is tough. The Friday night timeslot is a really hard one to pull off, but I actually thought that this second episode was a lot better than the first one. It didn't seem as forced and the dialogue was better. I caught onto it quickly, but we'll see if it can stand the course of time with more premieres coming up in the next couple of weeks.

Jack is the new "McDreamy."

Okay, the press has got to stop comparing shows to Grey's Anatomy, because I can't stand that show.

You bring up McDreamy, I change the channel.

That being said, i have seen the first two eps of "Men In Trees" and i like it. I have always found Anne Heche to be a good actress.
Besides, if you are going to compare this show to any other show, "Northern Exposure" comes to mind.

TJL, I finally am all caught up with Grey's Anatomy thanks to the DVDs, and I can't wait for the season premiere this Thursday. Now I can watch it on TV. It really is a wonderful show! What is wrong with it? The Super Bowl episode was just perfect.

Sorry Pav, too many years of watching "E.R." has made me weary of watching any more young sexy Doctors struggle with their crappy lives.

I prefer "Scrubs." Those Doctors make me happy.

Ah...I haven't encountered a non-Grey's fan in a while. It is one of my favorite shows, so it hurts me to think that there's people out there that don't like it! I think the writing is fantastic and the way they are developing the characters just makes you want to watch more! I can't wait for this to come back on on Thursdays...and now you also get Six Degrees along the same night, so that is making my night even better!

I found it kind of boring.

It wasn't a bad way to spend 42 minutes and I wasn't put into a coma or throwing bricks at the TV, but it just didn't make me laugh much or get me invested.

I watched Grey's Anataomy during the first season but I just got tired of it.

CBS took the lead at 9 p.m. with "Close to Home," 7.6/13. NBC dropped to second with "Dateline," 5.6/10. ABC's "Men in Trees," 5.3/10, held steady from last week despite increased competition. "Smackdown!," 2.7/5, moved The CW ahead of FOX and the "Celebrity Duets" results show.

:D

Edit: The news is a little better, Zap2it issued a correction:

CBS took the lead at 9 p.m. with "Close to Home," 7.6/13. NBC dropped to second with "Dateline," 5.6/10. ABC's "Men in Trees," 5.5/10, held steady from last week despite increased competition. "Smackdown!," 2.7/5, moved The CW ahead of FOX and the "Celebrity Duets" results show.

It got a 5.3/10 last week.

Interesting. I thought it may have gone down bc I didn't think this last episode was as good as the second, but again I still watched bc it was the best that was on at the time.

A big drop last night... WTF happened? Everything was down(on all networks).

CBS moved to the front at 9 p.m. with "Close to Home," 7.3/13. NBC fell one spot to second with "Dateline," 6.0/11. "Men in Trees" kept ABC in third with a 4.7/8. The finale of FOX's "Celebrity Duets" (won by Alfonso Ribeiro) averaged 2.7/5, tying for fourth with "Smackdown!"

I've been watching it all season and I think its pretty good. But you really don't hear much about it, so I'm wondering if it will be back for a second season.

I did watch the first few episodes of Men In Trees, but it's one of those shows I "lost in the shuffle" this season.
I recorded a number of episodes, but I never got a round to watching them, they changed the time and day, didn't they? So I forgot when it was on.
Plus the dog ate my homework.

Also, I think ABC has done a bad job of promiting the show. The way ABC runs things, you would think Grey's Anatomy is the only hour long drama they have on the air.

We are so sick of reality TV, Game Shows, and Spin offs from Sex In The City, spin offs of one show after another. Is it so bad to be unique?
Come on now, Cashmere Mafia Girls? I can't believe the Simson's are still on.
That new show the Darling's, Please give me a break. Maybe the writers should go.... Because what they are putting out is garbage!!!!!
Heck, Jay Leno, is better now that he ever was.
Need I go on?

Men In Trees, was finally a show that my Husband and I could really enjoy.
It is a feel good program.
But again ABC, has screwed it up.

Now the only program we will watch on ABC is the Leno show, until they put back Men In Trees on.

We are also consumers, we are the ones that have the buying power with the advertisers, if we aren't spending our money, then advertisers go some where else.

I would rather rent Movies, at least I have a choice in my viewing pleasure.

If this keeps up I may remove my Cable all together.

I hope ABC is listening!!!!!

Put Men In Trees back on!!!!!!

Heck I can write the story line, it is a great show, and if taken seriously like in the first season, and left to grow, it will be a top rated show.

ABC, get with it. We know you have fresh work in the Can!!!!!!

I like this show too, but its hard to find when its on. I don't understand why ABC keeps switching its day & time slot. I'm begining to think they put all the shows on a roulette wheel & give them a spin. lol!

The only reason I watched Grey's Anatomy because it was on before MIT.

I found it to be really stupid!!!! This one is sleeping with that one, the only operation is, who is doing who. Plus this year, you don't even have Grey in it.

Isn't that the name of the Women who was a Doctor and died?

I don't know.....

Now we have going back 20 some odd years with Celebrity Duets.

It's been done, a million times, and I don't care about the Celebrities, and their Dancing!!!

I want to see a good show!!!! Finish that tune... Some thing like it.

Remember Name that tune?

It there no refreshing ideas out there?

Just put my show back on, and I will rent movies. The Big Shots are really stretching for some talented shows.

Oh, can you believe there is a new show on, your Family sits there while your hooked up to a lie detector test, and you ask questions.

How stupid is that? Reminds me of Jerry Springer. What, do we want to hurt others? Also who would want to be on such a show?
Ahhhhhh..... Sad...

We just quite watching TV all together, accept the local news. I can read the world news on line.

I can't stand the junk!!!! Writers Strike or not.

If we want to watch something we have Netflixs.

I read the Office won last night at the awards. I have seen 15 mins of that show when it started. Another stupid show!!!

We will see in they bring Men In Trees Back on Feb 27th.

Funny we don't miss any of the junk they have shoved down our throats.
