I've been so involved with this message board I had almost forgoten the simple life. The way I was.
My brother talked me into playing a game of Tetris today. I lost horribly. It was so fun. I had forgoten that. Now I will hone my Tetris skills so I will be able to beat my brother... and maybe even the Tetris queen, my Mom.
I don't remember getting to involved in this site. But it has happened. If you read my other post, "A way of life" note that I said,"I wouldn't have it any other way". That still stands. I love this place and it's people. I've had more contact with more people here than anywere else, though it's not real contact. But I still wonder what happened to the Nintendo years? What happened to Donkey Kong, Mario, and Link? Nothing happened to them. It was me. I grew up.
I hope I never grow out of this place.

Very philosophical. I remember those days. I used to play duck hunt for hours. Mario was a different story. I could beat my mom, but not this kid I babysat for. You'd have thought he invented the game.

I like all the Super Nintendo games soo much better than the new RPG and fighting games. Donkey kong was 10000 times more fun!

I hope I don't date myself too much here, but do you remember pre nintendo days I.E. atarri.
Those were the games, Donkey Kong, Pit Fall, E.T., Pac Man, Pac Man Jr., Ms. Pac Man, Pong, Q-Bert.
To answer the question that I know is on your mind, yes I still have my atarri and yes it still works.

I loved my Nintendo actually I still have it hooked up to the tv I never got to have a super Nintendo I got a computer but hay that's not bad. But I am the power pad queen that's because I learned a trick if you run on your heels then the guy will run and lighting seep or as fast as they let him run and also in the long jump ones if you jump off the power pad for like 3 second and then step back on the power pad the guy goes farther but you guys probably know that, so that's why I'm queen of the power pad. But my favorite Nintendo games are Link, Bases loaded 3, Hoops, Mario Bros 2, Blades of Steel and Contra.

omg-so sad brings back such good memories, back even to my new kids on the block obsession days~ the best ones have to be the orignal nintendo and super nintendo, i mean n64 is ok(playstation is better) but they are so high tech and its not as classic as nintendo!
on snow days i remember me and my neighbors and my bro we would play in the snow and then go back to my house and play super nintendo, it was soo fun! i love Mario Kart(the one for supernintendo) and the Mario brothers, i use to love donkey kong 2~but i have 2 super nintendos systems but i cant figure out how to step up the good one, one nintendo which is sweet, and then playstation 1 and 2 and nintendo 64,but i never really play them anymore, i would play supernintendo but i wont have time this year

Oh man, I LOVE those games. My best friend had an atari and we used to play Q-Bert for hours. Low tech is so cool!

I myself could never play Nintendo, but it was in my room and I would always watch my sister. I wished I could play, but I just never got the hand of it. Then my friend got PlayStation and the only game I could play was Mortal Kombat 3... Now my sister has N64 and the only game I can play is Mario Kart. I"m just not that great. But even if you lose at Nintendo, it's still fun.

Of course I remember (although, I think we are about the same ago so it makes sense!)
Anyhoo, I've always been more of a Commodore 64 gal myself, but I do occassionally play my friend's Atari, and my boyfriend has Intellivision (yes it still works)....do you remember that? I'm pretty sure that was out before Atari.
And BTW....I LOVE Q*BERT!!!

Awhhhh...Nintendo. Punch-Out, Super Mario Bros. 3( Tangent: Hey, doesn't anyone remember seeing The Wizard with Fred Savage, and seeing Super Mario Bros 3 for the first time?)
Tetris, Double Dragon, Ninja Gaiden, Mega Man, Tecmo Super Bowl( with Joe Montana and Ronnie Lott still on the Niners, no less!).
The simple life...what's that?

The simple life was a time when your biggest worry was beating bowser or K Rool. It was a time when you could say,"Republican?" The time when you cared very little if at all about politics.
The time of no worries.

I still have my Atari too. I even hooked it up and played it a while back. My favorite game was Frogger. And E.T. used to drive me crazy because I could never win.

I've had my nintendo since 1990. I've had Mario 1 since 1990. I played in obsessively, but never beat it (I even made it as far as the last level, but NEVER beat it.). About a little over a week ago, I plugged in my old NES for a nostalgia run. Loaded up the game, played for a while, turned it off.
Then I loaded up the remake for GB and beat Mario 1 in an hour...
Pointless, except for the nostalgia trip and finally beating bowser....
