Yes, 'Black coffee in bed' (I take it you like Squeeze), I am fully aware of that flick. It was CHAD Lowe playing the son who killed himself and the VERY PROFESSIONAL (as you put it, but no sarcasm intended - I agree) Howard Hesseman as the father who won't admit to himself that his son killed himself. And Charlie Sheen was in it; he played the friend of Chad Lowe's charcter who was the last one to see him alive. Chad's character told Charlie's 'jokingly' that he should kill himself, and it went over Charlie's head. His character felt guilty throughout the whole movie. Yep, I remember it! It was a made-for-TV movie that premiered back in '84. It was played late at night a couple of years back. Anyone else out there remember 'Silence of the Heart'? Let's make a subject of conversation about it! No offense, 'Black coffee in bed', but it would've been nice if you could've told us the title of the flick earlier so we could've all talked about it earlier. That's cool. By the way, BCIB, I like Squeeze too; but 'Tempted' is MY personal favorite of theirs. Peace.

'Silence of the Heart'! Hell yeah I remember that awesome, AWESOME flick! It's one of my favorite movies of all time! Here's my Top-5:
1) Good Fellas
2) Star Wars
3) Wizard of Oz
4) SILENCE OF THE HEART
5) Deer Hunter
Yeah, SOTH rocks! Howard Hesseman, Charlie Sheen, Chad Lowe. A very, very underrated flick. It is such a shame that no one's added to this discussion. Guess we got a lot of youngsters on this site who don't remember it. The two of us do though! And 'black coffee'; sorry. Way to bring that to everyone's attention, 'mirror' and 'black coffee'. Right on!

Siskel and Ebert BOTH gave 'Silence of the Heart' two thumbs-up back in, I think, '85. I still have never seen that flick but hear enough about it from friends since I asked some of them after reading recent messages on this movie. They all say that it's a 'must-see'. My ex said that it's, not 'one' of her all-time favorites, but her ABSOLUTE favorite. She says she watches it at least five times a year, and OF COURSE she's got it on tape. When I watch it, I'll get back to you guys (mirror, blackcoffee, germany joe) and give you all my opinion. 'Silence of the Heart'; thanks for the intro.

Hey, Bo Bo Bo. You know what? Get out of this discussion if you got nothing cool to say about this flick. Hmmm? How much should I bet that you've never EVEN SEEN the flick before? I bet if you did, you would not be dissin' it like you are now. Praise SOTH, or cover-up your mouth with a cloth, okay? It's a very great movie that we're trying to introduce to others on these boards. Enough said. Have a good day.

Three cheers to 'black coffee' and 'silent bri'! Yes, Bo boo boo must go. He probably has never even seen the flick (or had sex) before. At least the three of us have some taste in good TV movies. As for your comment, Utah, I also heard that Siskel and Ebert gave SOTH two thumbs up back in the day. It must've went out on video though after it premiered on TV for both of them to review it (you say the review was in '85 - the movie premiered on TV in '84 - sounds right) being that S&E never reviewed movies that ONLY appeared on TV. Anyway, I heard that they both said wonderful things about it. I should research all of their reviews and see if I can read it. That should be cool. Anyway, thanks again guys for putting Boo Boo Boo in his place.
"Praise SOTH, or cover your mouth with a cloth!" - CLASSIC! I love it!
Hey, how about this?: '(Permanent) Silence of Boo Boo Boo' Ha! Ha! Ha! Anyway, peace, SOTH-heads.
Wow, has this discusssion lit up fast! Hey guys, guess what? My ex is actually on her way over to my apartment and guess what she's bringing over? You guessed it! - SILENCE OF THE HEART!!!!!!! Wow am I stoked! It's on an old tape, the very same one that she used when she originally recorded it from TV 16 years ago. The commercials will be on it too. I'll feel like I'm in a time-warp or something ('where's the beef?') Yep, I just thought that I let you guys know what I'LL be doing tonight. Oh, and by the way, what IS that Bo Bo's problem?! I also tip my hat to yous, black coffee and brian, for your comebacks. Well, I should be back to you guys in 2-3 hours with my review. Goodbye for now, MY FELLOW-SOTH-HEADS!
PS - 'SOTH-heads', I like that one.

I've got a plan. A BEAUTIFUL plan, that is. I'm going to break into MGM studios where they keep all copies of all movies ever made, and DESTROY the original copy of 'Silence of My Fart'! Then, I'm going to go on a rampage and break into every - I mean EVERY - Blockbuster, Hollywood, and ALL other video stores at night and destroy ALL copies of SOMF that I see - because NONE of them will be rented-out to anyone throughout the entire planet anyway because the movie SUCKS, that should cover all corners (ha, ha, ha)! Finally, one last assignment - I'm going to, because the movie totally SUCKS and she would be the ONLY ONE to own it on tape in the whole wide world anyway, I'm going to break into Utah's ex's house (who originally left Utah because he couldn't keep her satisfied) and TAKE AND DESTORY THE 16 YR. OLD TAPE, THE VERY LAST REMAINING COPY, OF 'SILENCE OF MY FART'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...and then there will be no more SOMF in the entire universe, and 'mirror mirror', 'black coffee in WET bed', 'Utah', and 'Silent Brian' will cry on and cry on for 1000 years. Sorry my fellow-SOMF-heads; sorry.

Ignore him.
Anyway... has anyone seen the movie "Rubin & Ed" starring Howard Hessman and Chrispin Glover? I think that movie really shows the true range of how HH can fit himself into ANY situation. Any person who can be in a movie that features the phrase "My cat can eat a WHOOOOOOOLE watermelon!" deserves a nod of appreciation!

To hell with 'GREASE is the word', SOTH is now DEFINITELY the word! Yep, me and my ex saw it at my pad last night and it's everything that all of you guys say that it is - and more. Watching those old commercials was rather cool too. Guess that Boo boo was at-it again after I left. Man! '1000 years of crying on and on'? Ha! More like, in his case, '1000 years of virginity'. Yeah, I guess we should follow Bri's advise and ignore him. As for your comment, Bri, I heard of that movie but never saw it. After seeing Hesseman's performance in SOTH, I'm now up for any HH-flick; I'll go get that one next. Yeah, once again guys, SOTH was a fantastic flick! Sorry I didn't get back to you guys right after I saw the flick, but, ahh I won't tell. I'm not the kind to kiss and tell. Just put it this way, when I get that Hesseman-Glover flick, my ex will probably be watching it with me. Just the two of us. Thanks again guys. Peace.
SOTH IS THE WORD. IT'S THE WORD THAT YOU HEARD THAT YOU HEARD IT'S GOT GROOVE IT'S GOT MEANING.

All right, Utah! You finally saw it - and more importantly, got back together with your ex (good work!) Get HER to come online and join in on our SOTH-discussions. Hey, what did you think about the part when Chad Lowe's little sister wanted to do a report on suicide and the teacher wouldn't let her because of her brother? Man! Yeah Bri, of course I saw 'Rubin and Ed' and, yes, Howard's trademark-professionalism shows through, but it's absolutely positively no SOTH as I'm sure you already know. Congrats, Utah! You're now a man! Only kidding.

Actually, after all the fuss and hollering over the matter, I have not actually seen SOTH. If anyone has a copy they can send me, I'd be ever appreciative!

Oh my, Bri! You mean to tell us all of this time you haven't seen SOTH? Wow!! Na, that's cool. It's cool. Just why haven't you told us until now? Anyway, maybe Utah's EX ex can let you borrow it. Ask Utah.

WOW. That's about all I can say. I kind of was under the impression all of this time that you had a long-time familarity with the flick. Actually, I was just going to ask if you call yourself 'SILENTbri' in referrence to SOTH. Man, you haven't seen it. Man, what a drag. It's okay though. It's alright. I'm sure that you'll see it soon enough.

Nope, never seen SOTH... I just know what type of an actor Howard Hessman is, and I know it would be a great movie! He just really sticks out for some reason. For instance, I was watching some crappy movies on STARZ! the other night, and saw the late 60's hippie-action flick "Billy Jack". It was on in the background, and I wasn't really paying attention till I noticed that one of the hippies was HOWARD HESSMAN! They do a few little hippie-skits that feature him, and it really added to my enjoyment of the whole film!
Hey, Utah... wanna get your girl to loan me that tape? Or are you both too sore to make it to the post office http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

I got a S.O.T.H. (as you guys call it) trivia question for you. Let's see who answers it first!
In the scene shortly after Chad Lowe's character's suicide when Charlie Sheen is shooting baskets for awhile while talking to someone, how many shots does he take, and how many went through the hoop?
PS - Praise to you, Charlie! Good Luck in 'Spin City'! Hope you get Locklear!
