I was watching an episode of Little House on the Prairie on TV Land in which Nellie Olsen was "tutoring" her teacher's son by helping him cheat on his subjects since it was Nellie's idea to cheat in the first place. Nellie told Andy, the teacher's son, who was doing poorly on his school subjects, that the reason that Nellie was doing extremely well on her subjects was that she cheated. I expected that from Nellie since she was not a very nice, honest girl.
Nellie even ordered Andy to steal his own mother's test papers as well. If I were Andy, I wouldn't let that nasty Nellie tell me what to do, even do her dirty work for her. At the end of that episode, the teacher found out how well Nellie was doing on her subjects; she even removed Nellie's jacket, which had all the test answers on them (No wonder Nellie was doing well), much to Nellie's dismay.
In the end, Andy's mother told all the students, including Nellie, that they have been promoted to another grade level. I'm really shocked that even Nellie got promoted. I think she should have been held back for cheating on her tests and other things at school. Nellie didn't deserve to get promoted for cheating since it was her idea to begin with. She obviously had a lot to learn that it didn't pay to cheat.
Do you think Nellie should get promoted under these circumstances? I don't think so. They should teach her a big lesson in academic honesty.
