View Full Version : The media is focused too much on T.O. and the Cowboys

That's not good for the league. Everytime I watch ESPN, they got a clip on TO, Parcells, and Jerry Jones. Other than Cowboy fans, who cares?! There are 31 other teams out there. I don't care if Dallas is "America's" team. They don't deserve that much press. It just amazes me how much respect the Cowboys got since they signed TO. Personally, I think as of now they are the 3rd best team in the NFC East. Everyone's picking them to win the division---I don't think so! Nobody's talking about The SeaHawks, the team that represented the entire NFC and should have won the Superbowl. The Panthers are next and nobody's talking about them either. I think those are the teams you have to watch out for in the NFC. then you ave the Giants, the Redskins, teams that went to the playoffs last year. Too much press on a team is not good. I'm sure Dallas wil get all the TV time and the ratings this year, but they still need to be proven. TO ain't no savior.

That's what I said the last 2 years when the media kept reporting on Philadelphia all the time. New England had to be pissed. They won 3 SB's in 4 years and all the media cares about are the Eagles. TO is a side show and the media loves it. They're just waiting for something to blow up in Dallas. I still don't trust the guy but he's a Cowboy so I'll root for him on Sunday but if he slips up, I won't be one of those Cowboy fans defending him. He still has a lot to prove as far as I'm concerned. As for the rest of the teams in the NFC, I think it's wide open and The Cowboys would have been one of those playoff teams last year if they had a decent FG kicker. That guy cost us at least 3 games. Luckily we got one of the best now. Let the games begin. :D

The Eagles did get a lot of press ever since they became contenders. Now they are pretenders. Sonny, I didn't create this thread because I dislike Dallas, so don't take this the wrong way. I'm just saying they are getting too much attention and haven't done anything yet. Hell, we were getting too much hype when Daniel Snyder was buying every player in sight. I didn't like that. But the media is bias towards the Redskins. Had we acquired TO, they would have crticized us to the bone and said something like Daniel Snyder has bought another superstar and that we would fail because we have no chemistry and him and Joe Gibbs would not coexist. I hate the media.

No I know that and I'd be a hypocrite if I said the Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl because of TO since I've said plenty of times in the last 2 years right here on this site that TO is only one man and he hasn't proven anything. He sure didn't win anything for The Eagles. The media likes controversy and they go where the controversy is. I wish they'd be more balanced with their reporting. I remember when Syder hired Steve Spurrier and the media went wild after he ran up the score in a pre-season game. I didn't care for that. They just liked the controversy. I actually think the NFC East could be a very balanced race and all 4 teams could be contending over there.

I'm trying to forget the Steve Spurrier years. LOL
Irene, I forgot you are a Cowboy fan. So they practice in your city, huh? The Buffalo Bills practice in mine and I never go see them, and it's free! Ironically, it's starts tommorrow.

TO and Dallas Cowboys aka the so-called "America's Team" are totally OVERRATED due to excessive media coverage. Come Season 2006-2007, those Cowboys WILL be screwed, plain, pure and simple.
