I don't know if my family would like me dating the love of my life, Ryan.:( he has not one,, not, two, not even three(The "out" number of strikes), but four strikes against him, which makes him way past "Out".:(
Strike 1. He is a White American, and my family is Black Haitina American.
Strike 2. He has some tattos, which my family is strictly against.
Strike 3. He used to be in a gang when he was younger.
Strike 4. He dropped out of high school and never went to college.
:(
But I still love him despite of all these things.:) And referring to Strike 4, he seems very intelligent and articulate when he is speaking.:)

I guess you're screwed then. If you're 20 or so, then you're an adult. It's great if your parents do approve, but it doesn't always work out that way. You're an adult, do what you want.

That's a shame. I hope you don't mind me saying this, but I don't think it's right that your family would disapprove of the two of you dating just because he's a different colour to you.
But it's like MIBabe said. Your parents shouldn't be able to choose who you go out with or not. If you want to date this guy, I think you should date him.

maybe u should take a good hard look at some facts
1. if he is another race and your family wont accept it--- they are not gonna change anytime soon--- is he worth losing them over??
most "love" goes away
2. if he has tatoos and a gang history that will most likely seriously limit his career and financial options ESPECIALLY if he has a criminal record
3. if he has no college skills and not even a high school diploma that even further limits him
sounds like no matter how u feel, id consider moving on
it would be different if he were trying to overcome these things, but from what u wrote, it sounds like he is ok with them all
i dont know, but it sounds like maybe its best to move on

I agree with that completly! The only thing I don't agree with is the parents and how they'd have a problem with his race. Sorry, but the rest of this stuff doesn't sound like it'll be that great of a relationship.

Depends where he has the tattoos. Are they visible when he wears a short sleeve shirt? My BF has tattoos, but they aren't visible when he wears a short sleeve shirt...Now, if your boyfriend has tattoos on his wrists, hands, forearms, legs (while wearing shorts, it can be seen) etc. then that is a different story. I don't know how many employers will hire someone with visible tats.

His tattoos are on his lower back and his upper biceps. If he wears a shirt long enough to cover his upper biceps, those two will be hidden.:) And as for his back, that is already always covered.:) ;)

I have another confession to make about my love........... He was a flunkie before he dropped out of high school.........He was 18 in the 10th grade!:( :o (But I considered that as the same strike as "Dropout".....) Is it really a fifth strike? Or is it still part of "Dropout Strike?"

18 years old in the 10th grade is not a drop-out...That is AN ADULT who doesn't know what his priorities in life should be.

He was the cook, the busboy, the dishwasher, the toilet boy, the mop boy.(He wasn't the cook on the same as he was the "cleaner" boy though ;)). After quitting IHOP, he decided to work at.........................How do I say this in a nice way? All right, I have to come right out and say it, a Nightclub.........................:o

I think maybe you should figure out if he is a good fit for you. It sounds like he doesn't have his stuff together. Like any minute, when things get too hard, he quits. All of his actions are signs, so I would just question his behavior. He might overall, not be the one.

Not for nothing, but what kind of money does he expect to make with no high school diploma? The only way he is ever going to make the kind of money he expects to is by getting some kind of education. I would take a long hard look at him. Do you want to be married to him and having to support him while he sits on the couch and watches tv all day? Your working hard and he quits yet another job with the same excuse "They weren't paying me enough. Even though I have no education, I deserve the same pay as someone that went to college and has a degree." I think any woman that has two ounces of brains in her head would know the answer to that one.....

Actually, Ryan does have goals............... But I think he may have a death wish..........He told me he wanted to be a Firefighter.............................:( Like I want him to die in a fire..................:( it's nice that he wants to save peoples' lives, but there a lot of possiblilities he could die...... The college he wanted to apply at(He tried to get his GED first) said that he needed a Paramedics course first before he even went into Firefighting courses. Imagine, Ryan being a paramedic. Saving peoples' lives like a mini doctor..................  But the "Paramedics" course is taught at another campus, not the one I attend...........:( I wanted him to go to school with me, but I wanted to put his goal first).............. I gave him the brochure for the other campus. he said, "Oh wow" in an excited voice. You should have seen him and heard him say those two words. He was really excited. :) ;) :D :p
One day, he told me he wanted to join the Marines......................:( Like I want him to be killed by the troops in Iraq......................:( And the Marines are THE TOUGHEST military ever. I don't know if Ryan can handle a drill seargeant yelling in his ears and making him do a whole bunch of obstacle courses and really just being mean(I mean, being tough on him) :( :o

i would think that obstacle courses, sensitive ears and mean people would be the least of his concerns if he makes it into the military - and as for the troops killing him "over there", he would probably have to REALLY piss somebody off to achieve that distinction (this is where the laziness may become a factor).

My mother(birth mother, not stepmother) was abused by her husband Robert(my ex- stepdad) for years until she divorced him................. Robert is a White American and my mom is Black American. Robert has green brown eyes and brown hair.......... Robert is older than my mother..............................Robert has only one sister.............. Robert has a tatoo on his bicep.
Do you believe in history repeating itself?:(
Ryan is a White American. He has green brown eyes and brown hair. He is older than me. He has only one sister. Ryan has tatoos on his bicep. Ryan and Robert have the same first initials, and Robert's last initialname is Ryan's last initail name "flipped".......... FYI, Robert's last initial is M and Ryan's last name initial is W.
