OMG, do you REALLY wanna know my favorite songs? I'll tell ya, but I don't know who'll get through it all. See, I get this quesiton in surveys all the time and now I just sort it into musicals, plus my Beatles and other songs.

So... (BTW, these can be from movie and Broadway show)

GUYS AND DOLLS:
Fugue for Tinhorns, The Oldest Established, I'll Know, Adelaide's Lament, Guys and Dolls, Adelaide, If I Were a Bell, A Woman in Love, Luck Be a Lady, Sue Me, Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat, Marry the Man Today (I love this song sooooooooo much; I'm lost as to why they didn't put it in the movie)

THE MUSIC MAN:
Rock Island, Iowa Stubborn, Piano Lesson/If You Don't Mind My Saying So, Marian the Librarian, 76 Trombones, Pick a Little Talk a Little, The Wells Fargo Wagon (OMG, Ronny Howard is so CUTE in this one!), Gary Indiana (In the reprise of this one, too!)

SINGIN' IN THE RAIN:
Good Mornin', Singin' in the Rain, Make 'em Laugh, Moses Supposes, and a bunch more I don't know by name

SWEET CHARITY: (A lot of these are just from the Broadway show. Gwen Verdon, may she rest in peace, is AWESOME!)
Big Spender, Charity's Soliloquy, If My Friends Could See Me Now, There's Gotta Be Something Better Than This, The Bravest Individual, The Rhythm of Life, Baby Dream Your Dream, Where Am I Going?, I Love to Cry at Weddings

MY FAIR LADY:
Why Can't the English?, Wouldn't it be Loverly?, Just You Wait 'Enry 'Iggins, Show Me, Without You, I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face

GREASE:
Grease, Summer Nights, You're the One That I Want, Look at Me I'm Sandra Dee, Freddy My Love, Hand Jive, We Go Together

PETER PAN: (Cathy Rigby version is the best!)
I've Gotta Crow, I'm Flying!, Hook's Tango, Wendy, I Won't Grow Up, Ugg-a-Wugg

BEATLES:
Here Comes the Sun, Penny Lane, Yesterday, Eleanor Rigby, Octopus's Garden, Revolution, Come Together, Let it Be, Paperback Writer, Magical Mystery Tour, No Where Man, Strawberry Fields Forever, Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds

OTHER:
You're So Vain, Hooked on a Feeling, Lady Marmalade (only the Labelle version, though), Now and Forever (OMG I love this song...)

Congrats if you read the whole post! Long live showtunes!!

Singin' in the Rain and My Fair Lady are great, and they have wonderful music. Show Me is a great song!! So is Without You, and Loverly, and Why Can't the English....dang you now I want to go watch that movie but I don't have it here with me.

How can you love showtunes and not like West Side Story? Have you ever seen it? It's one of my favorite movies of all time.

Puerto Rico, you ugly island..... http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Ooh and since we're on the subject of showtunes.....Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is amazing. I saw it in Chicago, and have heard both soundtracks. The Michael Damian version is better than the Donny Osmond one, IMHO. Hmmm....think I'll pop the CD in now!

"Clint Eastwood" is a better video than song, but it's a classic video, so that's got to tell you what I think about the song itself.

Current songs I like right now, are David Gray's "Please Forgive Me", U2's "Elevation",
Coldplay's "Yellow", and Travis' "Sing".

But my favorite new song has to be The Strokes' "Hard to Explain". Most likely, none of you have heard of it...yet. I highly recommend downloading this song. Honestly! It's great...

Sadly, I haven't had a chance to see West Side Story. I've meant to for a long time though.

Also, I'd like to add that the songs from the musical Chicago are great too!
