I never really got into his solo stuff. Now that I'm older, I might enjoy it. But I'd have to say I like Instant Karma the best of what I know.

Well, if you are ever curious about his solo work, buy his album "Plastic Ono Band". It is his first album, and it's his best.

"Imagine", a classic, of course. But I have to admit, i'd rather listen to Wings than John Lennon's solo stuff anyday...

I don't really know much of Lennon's solo work, but my favorite song has to be Mind Games.

ALTHOUGH STILL WITH THE BEATLES YET AT THE TIME I JUST LOVE "IN MY LIFE" AND "GIRL". BOTH SUNG SOLO BY JOHN.

I know this topic is rather old...I can't believe I never replied to it.

most definately I'm a fan of John Lennon's solo stuff. Wings to put it gently were...um...rubbish. "Plastic Ono Band" and "Imagine" two classic albums...definantely among the top ten albums of all time...although his last few solo albums were patchy.

The entire "John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band" and "Imagine" albums are my two desert island albums. I can listen to both of those albums all the way through and never get tired of them.

The remixes that came out in 2000 are superb.

Also:
Give Peace A Chance
Cold Turkey
Instant Karma! (We All Shine On)
Do The Oz
Power To The People
Happy Xmas (War Is Over)
Woman Is The ****** Of The World
New York City
John Sinclair
Well (Baby Please Don't Go)
Mind Games
Aisumasen (I'm Sorry)
One Day At A Time
Bring On The Lucie (Freda People)
Intuition
Whatever Gets You Thru The Night (with Elton John)
Scared
#9 Dream
Steel And Glass
Be-Bop-A-Lula
Stand By Me
Rip It Up/Ready Teddy
Ya Ya
Just Because

And everything he recorded during the "Double Fantasy"/"Milk And Honey" sessions. He was back in top form in 1980, after taking five years off to focus on raising Sean.

John's 1980 album, "Double Fantasy," and his posthumous 1984 album "Milk And Honey" were both collaborations with Yoko Ono. I know there is an audience for Yoko's music, but I'm not a part of it. She's a good person, but not a good musician.

Anyway, I made a CD using all of John's tracks from the 2000 remaster of "Double Fantasy" and the 2001 remaster of "Milk And Honey," mixed in with tracks from "The John Lennon Anthology" recorded during the 1980 "Double Fantasy"/"Milk And Honey" sessions.

And not to toot my own horn, it's a pretty damn good album. Capitol/Parlophone/EMI would have a goldmine on their hands if they released something like this.

I have it in my own collection, and I've burned numerous copies for friends, family, and co-workers who have all given me very positive reviews.

I call it, simply, "John Lennon." Here's the tracklisting:

I disagree about Wings! I think they were much better than Plastic Ono Band. But I really love and admire Sir Paul McCartney! He is a genius!(musically):guitar:

Okay.............. These 2 songs remind me of John after he passed away. Whenever I hear them I get emotional

1) (Just Like) Starting over (I feel so sad because it reminds me of him after he passed....... They use to play this song on the radio all the time).

2) Woman............ (Please let me explain. I never meant to cause you sorrow and pain)......... :crying: :guitar: patriot:
