Is this a good movie? I haven't went to see it. And why is it rated PG-13? Im sure cuz of Violence, but anything else?

Teddy: You all set for tomorrow night?
Jinny: I have my bullet proof vest polished if that's what you mean.
Teddy: Come on, Jinny.
Jinny: Oh, yes. Actually... I bought a dress.
Teddy: You did?
Jinny: There is no guarantee, however, that I am going to wear it.
Teddy: So, uh... I don't know. What else did you buy?
Jinny: How do you know I bought you anything for your birthday? Maybe I plan on knitting you a sweater or... give you something much more organic.
Teddy: Well, you do give good organic.

Teddy: What's this dress look like anyway?
Jinny: Oh, yeah, OK. Low cut, skin tight, animal print, ruffle at the bottom. Don't you have lawyering to do?

Teddy: Be honest with me, not my parents!
Jinny: All right, fine. You want honesty? Why don't you let me tell you a little bit about my family? See, I never really had a birthday party unless you wanna count my 15th, when my father showed up for cake, plastered in his underwear! Oh... yeah, by the way, my mom couldn't make it that year either because, well, sadly, six months earlier she blew her brains out!!!!!
Teddy: Jinny, my God.
Jinny: As for my brother, ugh... yeah, John... see, he just doesn't like you unless your American, white, and straight... and for me, a few weeks ago when I had that nut case after me... yeah, I had to make a little list, of all the guys that I've slept with in the last two years. I couldn't remember some of their names.
Teddy: Stop.
Jinny: Ya know what? This is who I am, this is my family!!!! Come on, it's your turn. Go ahead, flash that all-American, prep school, choir boy smile and you tell me that it doesn't matter!

A day with Blair is like walking up San Juan Hill. Every time you turn around she's yelling CHARGE!

It's good I guess...very sad! according to imdb.com : Rated PG-13 for sustained intense war sequences, images of wounded, brief sensuality and some language.

that's about right I guess. lol when I went to see it there were only 3 other people there besides me and my friend..

I'd go and see it! it's good but hard to sit through...

Don't see it! Even "Tomb Raider" was better than "Pearl Harbor"! I say you should go check out "Evolution", or "A Knight's Tale".
Those are the best movies of the summer....so far. Be sure to check out "A.I" next Friday, it'll sure be something to go out of the way for.

Wow.... I am so disappointed in you http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif

OK, ok. I'll admit, it wasn't as bad as most of the critics make it seem, but it still sucks ass.

I'm dissapointed in all of you! This is a true story and people REALLY died! If you were there you would love the movie IF you could bring yourself to watch it! SHAME!

OK, I finally did see the movie (my Mom paid for it, so I wasn't spending my money and it got me off work 15 minutes early). The three main characters are about as fictional as you can get. When they're off flying in their hula shirts, my Mom said rather loudly, "I don't think this happened." The movie would have been much better if it didn't focus on a romance that you can figure out what's going to happen after the first 15 minutes, but you still have 2 hours and 45 minutes left. I think the movie would have been much better, and shorter, if they would have decided to focus it on how much the American government actually did know about the attack. Use that premise, where historical interpretations exist, instead of forcing some romance down everyone's throats. The actually story of Pearl Harbor is the subplot to everything else happening in the movie.

*bows head in shame...again*

I thought it was SO cheesy, that you could taste it. But then again, I found myself rooting for Josh Hartnett over Ben Affleck at the end of the movie. And I found myself actually...( I don't know if I can bring myself to say this but...) caring about certain characters. Whew...that was hard to say. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif

But it was the worst movie of the summer so far... wait! Mummy Returns was worst. Almost forgot about that one...

Leslie, I kind of agree with you on that one. It would have been better if the romance plot had been scrapped in favor of just doing a docu-drama of how it all actually happened. That would have made the film shorter. But would people have gone in droves to see a war film? Yes, probably. It worked for Steven Spielberg with "Saving Private Ryan".
However, there is a big percentage of the population who just happens to love a love story. And that's the approach that was used in "Titanic". Yes, people wanted to see how the Titanic sunk, but they were also drawn in by the love story of Jack and Rose. As a result, "Titanic" was the biggest film of 1998. The same can be said for the appeal of "Pearl Harbor", and its love triangle between Rafe, Danny, and Kate Beckansale' character in the movie. As a matter of fact, "Pearl Harbor" had one of the biggest openings on Memorial Day weekend in recent history. And it's still in the top 5, as far ticket sales are concerned.

I know that a lot of people have havn't liked this film. But I did.

I seen this movie on a 46 inch plasma with surround sound and I really liked it, the harbor attack looked real. I didn't have a problem with the movie.
