To my knowledge they never did a segment on Sharon Tate.

I know I wasn't alive back then, but why would this qualify as an unsolved mystery? Is there someone out there that thinks the Manson Family didn't do it?

Um, the murderers of Sharon Tate are in prison. What is the mystery here?

The only thing that could be called a mystery is that they were alleged to have filmed their crimes and buried the evidence in the desert somewhere although the evidence for this is very flimsy and highly suspect

Yes it also popped up in Robert Graysmiths's Zodiac book which had been an excellent straightforward retelling of the crimes where the author took a call saying there was a cannister holding items of evidence from one of his crimes including a film but it would explode if tampered with which resulted in a wild goose chase- amazing what silly rumours do
