...."THE NEW BILL COSBY SHOW" [CBS, 1972-'73] was Bill's first attempt at being a comedy/variety host. It appeared Monday nights at 10pm(et), and lasted a single season. It gave "Cos" the opportunity to perfrom sketch comedy, attempt a few musical production numbers on his own and with his guest stars, and have the honor of trading banter with Groucho Marx in a 1973 telecast. The ratings just weren't there; that's why there wasn't a second season. Cosby tried again with a "younger" comedy/variety show aimed at kids in the fall of 1976. But "COS", as an early Sunday evening ABC series {7pm(et)}, didn't even make it to the end of the year. He'd have to wait until 1984 to become a situation comedy star again.

I would love to see both shows. Neither seem to exist

...'TV Researcher'. I saw an excerpt from Groucho's appearance on Cosby's show in a documentary that pops up once in a while on public television called "Unknown Marx Brothers". Portions of "COS" (I remember seeing Bill's opening monologues) were shown on Nickelodeon over 10 years ago. These shows DO exist!

I know they exist, i meant they were not in the trading circuits. I also saw a clip of COS on VH1's 100 Greatest Child Stars, they showed a clip of Corey Feldman on the Cos Variety Show when he was about 4 years old.
