I thought she was a good replacement for Valerie Harper, although I like both of them equally.

I don't know why, but I like Sandy Duncan as well http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif Maybe its cause I dont' like Val too much, but I like Sandy's somewhat outragous reactions and funny character.

Also, I don't know if it was the character change or change in times, but after Sandy joined the show it seemed they tackled more serious issues.

She was real good in the show l think that's why it last she.
Made it funny it's why it lasted because of her talent in the.
Show l never cared for val family because l was kinda dull.
Butt when sandy came along she made more fun too watch:happyface

This is off topic, but didn't Sandy Duncan have a brain tumor at some point? I remember hearing about that somewhere. Anyway Sandy was definitely a great addition to the show, and the perfect replacement for Valerie Harper!

Hi, there!
This is the first time I've posted here, even though I've visited here several times before. I've been a Sandy Duncan fan for a looong time!
As I mentioned in my siggy, I am the owner of the Sandy Duncan Group. You can find the link to my group in the links section of The Hogan Family Online.
Yes, it is true that Sandy had a tumor behind her left eye, which was removed. The tumor damaged the optic nerves, which left her virtually blind in that eye (it is a REAL eye, not a fake one!). That was way back in 1971, though.
Well, that's all for now.

Thanks for the info! I remember hearing once that she had a tumor at some point, but couldn't remember where I heard it, and didn't even know if it were true, so thanks for the confirmation! I'm glad it was removed and that she's okay today!

I had totally forgotten about those commercials until you just mentioned them. Sheesh, the last time those commercials aired had to have been atleast 12 years ago. I don't think wheat thins even has a spokesperson anymore. I'm surprised they ever had a spokesperson to begin with, they taste like wood.

So, where is Sandy Duncan today? She's a talented actress, and I was glad to see her on the TVLand special weekend. But, she hasn't really done much in the public eye as of late (as far as I can tell).

Louis,
Just what is the Sandy Duncan Group? I have been trying to find a way to contact her with some new family information. Her mother, Sylvia Scott Duncan, and I were first cousins, but I have never met Sandy. I would be content if anyone that does have contact with her to simply
give her my web site address so that she can go there and
see the information to which I referred. It is not earth shaking or anything and she may not even care, but she still needs to know it. This note is just in case you have some kind of access to her or her agent.
My web site is at:

Thanks,
Lannie Walker,Sr.
