Hey, Billy Idol rules! There's not one 'hit' song of his that I don't like. And The Go-Go's are awesome! OMD, didn't they do that 'If you Leave' song? That's classic 80's ... http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

Yep, OMD did sing "If You Leave". They actually did it so it could be used in the Molly Ringwald film, Pretty In Pink, and they used it!

The Obsolete Man

Lady Marmalade is by LaBelle, breeding ground for Patty LaBelle.
anyway, I listen to a lot of stuff 90% of you probably have never heard of... mostly 1920s-1970s country...
Roy Acuff, Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams, Jr., Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Charlie Daniels, Keith Whtley, Alabama, and Brooks and Dunn.
I also dig 1950s Doo-wop, and 1960s soul... stuff by Otis Redding, Sam and Dave, Smokey and the Miracles, Temptations, Four Tops...
Then, you got yer 60s pop... the Monkees, the Beatles, Neil Diamond, Beach Boys, Mike Nesmith and the First National Band...
There's some other stuff I listen to... Meatloaf, Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Aerosmith, Glen Campbell, Van Morrison, James Taylor, The Band, ZZ Top, Tom Jones... and the list goes on.

When I want to rock out I listen to MY favorite boy bands:
Aerosmith
Guns 'n' Roses
The Rolling Stones
I also dig the grrls with guitars types:
Dar Williams
Mary Chapin Carpenter
Sheryl Crow
I also love '80s music, and Madonna goes without saying for me, and I have a tremendous amount of respect for great songwriters (which is why I like Dar Williams....yup yup she's brilliant!)
And Weird Al is great!
Oh heck I listen to almost anything b/c I love music. I also listen to some hip hop and classical, but I usually have to be in the mood for it.
Of stuff that's on the radio now I like Nelly and Destiny's Child.
And P.S. to Obsolete Man, LaBelle did the original Lady Marmalade, but Christina Agulera, Li'l Kim, Pink, and Maya did a remake of it for the Moulin Rouge soundtrack.

I am also seeing Aerosmith soon, and they are GREAT!!! I have seen alot of concerts, and I think their concert and the Rolling Stones are tied as the best I have ever seen. But Aerosmith's had pyrotechnics, which edges them over the top http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif
Although, I am worried that this tour won't be as good, because I was very disappointed with their new album. I hope they play alot of old stuff!

Any kind of music that is not whimpy (and by that I mean music that is NOT written only for the charts) and with soul in it!!! Unfortunately, most of the plush pop/rock/funk/mainstream rock out there today is a bit like that so I tend to listen to r'n'r, psychedelic music, certain techno, heavy metal, alt/indie bands, hard rock, etc.
