Basically, this is a little game concerning finding the best equivalents a possible between these two decades. For example:

*The earthquake during the 1989 World Series=The bombing during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games

*The Saturday Game of the Week on NBC=The Saturday Game of the Week on Fox

*The Phillies finally winning the World Series=The Rangers finally winning the Stanley Cup

*The 49ers' championship dynasty=The Bulls' championship dynasty

*The Miracle On Ice=Super Bowl XXV-Highly memorable sporting moments that carried a bunch of political over-tones. In this case, the US hockey team upsetting the heavily favored Soviets in the same year that the US boycotted the Summer Olympics in Moscow in protest of the Soviets' invasion of Afganaistan. As for the Super Bowl, there was a fairly strong emphasis on the Gulf War (or Desert Storm) as the game ultimately went down to a decisive field goal.

*The Icky Shuffle=The Dirty Bird

*The Baltimore Colts becoming the Indianapolis Colts=The Cleveland Browns becoming the Baltimore Ravens

*Bo Jackson, "The Two Sport Athlete"=Deion Sanders, "The Two Sport Athlete"

*The 1987 NFL Strike=The 1994 MLB Strike

*Kirk Gibson hitting a dramatic, game winning homer in the World Series while with a bad limp in the legs=Michael Jordan scoring 38 points in a NBA Finals game while with the flu.

*The NBA Finals on tape delay=The Olympic Games on tape delay

*Pete Rose getting banned from baseball=OJ Simpson going on trial for murder-Hall of Fame type of professional athletes whose legency is perhaps forever severely tarnished due to their alledged crimes off of the playing field.

*Game 6 of the 1986 World Series=Game 7 of the 1997 World Series

*The 1984 San Diego Padres=The 1998 San Diego Padres-They both got crushed in the World Series by a team who won over 100 games in the regular season and soon fell back to earth in the aftermath.

*Fernando Valenzuela=Hideo Homo

*George Stienbrenner=Jerry Jones

*The Homer Hankies=The Tomahawk Chop

*NC State over Houston=James "Buster" Douglas over Mike Tyson-They were upsets to end all upsets.

*The 1989 "Battle of the Bay" and the 1985 "I-70 Series"="The Subway Series" (even though it was in the year 2000)

*The Bash Brothers=McGwire & Sosa

*The Super Bowl Shuffle="How 'bout them Cowboys!"-Rather cocky statements concerning the greatness of Super Bowl winning football teams. The main difference is that one of them didn't involve a rap song.

*Georgetown choking in the final minutes against North Carolina in the NCAA mens' basketball championship game=Michigan choking in the final minutes against North Carolina in the NCAA mens' basketball championship game

The Olympic Games on ABC=The X Games on ABC

*The Denver Broncos, the enternal losers of the Super Bowl=The Buffalo Bills, the enternal losers of the Super Bowl
