Don't know if there are many Ramones fans out there (given that most of you are still in high school or younger, I doubt it), but Punk Rock Legend Joey Ramone has passed away. Dude, this sucks... The Ramones gave us some profound music, like Beat on the Brat
Beat on the brat
Beat on the brat
Beat on the brat with a baseball bat
Oh yeah, oh yeah, uh- oh
R.I.P., Joey.

The Ramones' appearance on the Simpsons is a classic.

I'm not a punk fan but Ramones were an exception. Never a favorite or anything, but they released some great records in their day.

Isn't this strange that someone is responding to Joey Ramone's death now, given that it was over six years ago that he passed away??
It's a six-year-old thread that was bumped up.
Did you guys know that John Lennon died, too. :(
Ah, I miss coily2. I wish she's stop by and say hi sometime.
But yeah, it's times like this I really wish Todd would let me lock threads more than a year old.
Incidentally Chad, Johnny and Dee Dee are dead too.

Well, at least we still have Paul Ringo and George!

;)Yeah, I wonder what ol' George has been doing lately... collaborating with Tom Petty, still?

This thread is sooooo old. I was in tenth grade when this happened, and now I'm a college graduate!

I was in 9th, and I'm only somewhat closer now than I was then to graduating college

Look i'm sorry but i just found out he had pass away is this Against the law ? Your post about me being dead was very disrespectful :( Next time please think before you post thank you.
I didn't say YOU were dead, I was telling you two other members of the band were no longer alive in addition to Joey. And while it's certainly not against a law or rule that old threads shouldn't be bumped up, it's generally considered polite not to.
How could you not have known about Joey before now though?

How could you not have known about Joey before now though?Yeah, the sentence was phrased in such a way that seemed to indicate you were putting him in the same list as the deceased members of the Ramones, which should have been interpreted as "Incidentally, Chad: Johnny and Dee are also dead...".
But how does a person not know that Joey Ramone died after six years? I have an evening supervisor who worships at the altar of the Ramones, and was devastated when he died. She also named by black Schecter Diamond Series Devil Elite electric guitar Ramona.
Not if you're directly addressing someone, it doesn't indicate that. Of course, I also forgot to directly quote him beforehand, so the error probably IS mine. I apologize.
