How many of you have seen a show on FF or AMW or City Conf or Court TV etc, and then found and read a book about it? I love these shows and have found that the books about these cases to be equally as good and go into some great detail. Some that I have read that I can think of off the top of my head are Before He Wakes by Jerry Bledsoe (Barbara Stager murders her teacher husband); The Perfect Husband by Aphrodite Jones about Michael Peterson (recent court tv trial); they guy who killed his wife at a hotel and said se slipped in the tub (can't remember the name of the book), Ann Rules true crime files have many stories from these shows - the crime files are excellent because that have a longer story and then several short stories- they have included stories about the newlywed whose husband was murdered in the woods while they were fishing and he said it was an accident (he also shot their dog)...another good crime files books was The End of a Dream about a bank robber in Washington State which I recently saw I think on an American Justice show. Jack Olsen also writes some great books - One called Charmer that was about a real "nice" black kid who lived in the Seattle area and killed women (a rare Afro-Amer. serial killer).

What is it about the state of Washington anyway?

Have some of you read books about cases on TV that you would like to reccommend?(spelling?)

Tillie,
I started a thread a while back called "A UM Fan's Reading List":

I've been neglecting it lately, so please feel free to add to it! I'm currently reading (and by "reading" I mean listening to the audio book) In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. I'd like to finish it before I see "Capote" but I've seen the American Justice on the Clutter Family Murders.

Thanks for the thread.
I've read In Cold Blood (one of the first crime books I read) and it scared the cr*p out of me. I also saw the movie with (I think) Robert Blake as one of the murderers - I think it came out in the late 70's..... it was even creepier. Anyway, I never liked Robert Blake after that....

Anyone remember the Scarsdale Diet Doctor case out of Westchester County, New York?

A book went to print called Mrs. Harris detailing the events of the murder.

Obsessive love gone wrong.....always a classic in the anals of True Crime.

Hello All,
Have any of you read the book by John Douglas called 'Anyone You Want Me To Be" It's is about serial killer John Robinson, who started out as a con man and progressed into a serial killer using the internet to find his victims. A very chilling book and one to make you think twice when you are one here after reading it.
