I'm thinking she left HOTC because they were trying to freeze the youth of the kids and Tannis Valley was growing(she was the youngest) you cant stay 10 for long.

Yeah, but those other "kids" weren't getting any younger, either. And Janice did come back for graduation.

But as far as growing, the other kids had stopped. Tannis was still going through the growth phase. Time couln't stand still for her like the others. I guess 5 years was kinda stretching it.
