I have never really liked Bewitched or the Addams Family, but I do watch Jeannie from time to time. That is going to leave a big space in the morning line up.

Oh, no!!!!! I absolutely loved the current morning lineup. I had no clue BW, IDOJ, and TAF expired this year. I knew Green Acres, Munsters, and Happy Days expired, but I had zero clue about those three. *Hopefully* someone else will pick them up.

Things won't be the same without IDOJ, AF and "Bewitched," but I'm holding out hope for something new and exciting to replace them.

I guess a different direction. They seem to focus more on 70s and 80s sitcoms, hence because they do very well for them.
Addams Family is on still after May, it doesn't expire until later in the year, sorry about that.

What is going to happen to the other older programs on tvland's lineup-I love Lucy, the Dick Van Dyke Show and the Andy Griffith Show? It seems like after next year, all the rest of the morning lineup will be gone. Tvland will have to bring in alot of new programming to fill the void. I can't even begin to imagine what they will bring in next. I hope it is good shows like Alice, Perfect Strangers,The Facts of Life and Different Strokes. It seems that today's audience just doesn't want to laugh anymore. I guess the good shows will be gone forever. Such a tragedy!! I guess I should be glad for the dvds of older shows that are out right now. Maybe on demand cable will become a reality and change the face of cable tv. Do you think Tvland will spin off into another network? A channel that just shows the older shows?
Knowing my luck my stupid cable provider wouldn't carry it. Well, I guess this is the end of the good shows. I guess we can start calling it Newtvland!!!

04-10-2006, 12:03 PM
TV Land is taking all of its old classic shows off and replacing them with 80s sitcoms. that kinda sucks, cause now they are going too close to N@N's era, and now we dont have a 50s/60s channel anymore.

:( to Bewitched and Jeannie

Is nothing being done about the 10th anniversary (besides commercials)?

Kevmath
04-12-2006, 07:48 PM
With the way that digital cable seems to be the wave of the future, you think there's a possibility that the older shows can come back on some sort of TV Land 50's, 60's, Westerns, etc.

TVLand is just doing what Nick-At-Nite did 10 years ago: Going flush down the toliet. I am so damn sickj of networks showing the same crap over and over. No wonder I never watch tv anymore except for a few shows on Nostalgia Channel or whatever it is called now. GSN dumped out a few years back as well. I guess we just have no choice in seeing good shows from the 1950's and 1960's that were in GASP  Black and White other than LITB, ILL and TAGS.

Wow, isn't this a plesant surprise! I wonder what posessed them to air "The Munsters" and "Green Acres" 3x a day again? Maybe since both are expiring this year they are trying to test them or something. I can definately say I will be watching more TV Land over the summer.

Well, as long as they avoid going the N@N route, things should be straight, at least for the moemnt.

But then again, seeing as how some of the rare shows like Evening Shade and Family Ties and Hogan Family have been getting the shaft treatment on cable, I have a bad feeling that TV Land is gonna do the same for Benson as well.

I'm sort of glad MacGyver is gone, considering it is on SPIKE and it has been on for a good while. The ONLY change I would make to this would be have Leave it to Beaver at 9:30 instead of double Sanford and Son episodes.

Cool schedule, however I really don't see it working out too well.
It's unfortunate that Jeannie/Bewitched will be cut off earlier than planned.
I don't think MacGyver is airing on Spike TV at the moment.

Sundays
6:00am-6:00pm Gunsmoke
6:00pm-6:00am Marathons: 5/27-28: 8p-6a Little House; 6/10-11: All in the Family; 6/17-18: Sanford & Son; 6/24-25: Three's Company

Notes: Benson's launch marathon on 6/3-4 will still be the full 48 hours. Little House's marathon will be 8pm-6am, not 6pm-6am.

What??? TVLand took off MacGyver? To quote MacGyver, "Aw man!":(

(By the way, MacGyver's not on Spike either. Thankfully, MacGyver is being released on DVD so at least I can always watch it on that!)

Yes, but the block hasn't even started yet, so if it falters, then no.

Paven, What is tvland are doing? Can't they make up their mind? No wonder they lost the viewers they cant find their favorite show if they keep changing around toooo much. Please explain why tvland is doing to us?

No wonder TBS & LIFETIME is good network at least they dont have time to played games & they dont move around too much. At least they havent lost their viewer they knew those two network (their favorite show) dont move around too much. Im sure that other cable networks dont move around too much except TVLAND & Nick at Nite they move around too much.

I can understand why Mad About You didnt do very well on Nick at Nite they problay rather watch it on OXYGEN NETWORK .

"The Link" shed some light on this situation a few days ago:

I believe there was a desire to bring some of the 50's and 60's shows into the evening and give audiences a chance to prove that they will tune in for these shows as much as they have for the later shows that have been airing in the late afternoon/evening. The specific shows chosen would seem to be in response to requests for them. It definitely could be a "you asked for it" ... "now show us that you will watch it" situation. So, time to get the numbers in place!

I'm glad TV Land has made these changes this past Monday. I have started to watch TV Land once again because of this.

I watch now at:

12:30PM Cheers
1:00PM Wings
6:00PM Green Acres (Try to chatch it)
6:30PM The Munsters (sometimes)
7:00PM Leave it to Beaver

I hope they leave the schedule like this for a while. (At least the summer!)
