Did any of Carol Burnett's own daughters ever appear on Mama's Family? I think she has 3 ( Carrie, Jody amd another one whose name I forgot ).

In fact Jody Hamilton and I went to school
together ( from 1988 to 1990 ) at the Colorado Institute Of Art in Denver, her mom even spoke to our class. I havent heard from her in years, whatever became of her.

I don't remember ever seeing them, but that's not to say they weren't ever there as extras. Heck, after awhile they couldn't even get Carol to appear!

I don't think so! I have seen these episodes over and over and I can confidently assure you that ,no,they never appeared on the series.

I was talking to an old classmate of mine
yesterday and he tells me that Carol's daughters actually hated Mama's Family so I guess there was my answer.

According to him Jody Hamilton( we all went to school together as the same time as the last Mama's Family shows were done ) told him it was "personal" not as much as the show itself.

I read once that Joe Hamilton and Carol Burnett had a messy divorce in the 80s and he was the one producing Mama, guess that explains why Carol Burnett failed to show up
on the later Mama shows.

There's an article in this week's "People" (or maybe "Us") about Carol Burnett and her new husband. It mentioned how Carol's daughter, Carrie, is ill with lung cancer, and that it has spread to her brain. Good Lord -- how much does one family have to suffer through? Joe Hamilton died of a brain tumor in the early 90s.

I feel bad for Carol Burnett -- I can only imagine how tough it must be to see your own daughter fight this kind of illness.

Yeah.... And yet, they still put on a GREAT reunion thing! BTW, when Carol Burnett came to your class, was she famous yet? That's AWESOME!

Carol would always make an appearance, she was just never wrote into the show. Her and Vicki Lawrence remain close friends to this day according to her bio on A&E.

Was Carol Burnett in ANY episodes after Buzz and Sonia left? Also, was there any ever STORY to why Buzz and Sonia left?

Well, they were close until the syndicated years, and then there was trouble. Then after "Mama" ended, they made up and got close again.

This is according to Vicki in her autobiography, and it is quite interesting...but with a happy ending. :)

Nope, Carol wasn't in any of the syndicated shows, cause she was kinda hurt by Vicki and cut her off from her life (though this was all indirect, no actual confrontation or anything). Vicki's book talks about it.

And there was no story at all as to Buzz and Sonja's departure. Some people assume they went off to college, others that maybe they went to live with their mom in Vegas (I think it was Vegas...I'm so tired right now I can't remember...)

This was from a bio they did on Carol Burnette on A&E.
