I thought she was a great addition to the cast. I understood about the changing format in the fall of 1993 but Lisa should have been on the last episode as the younger sister Emily. All three sisters were never seen at the same time. For you Empty Nest fans, what do you think?

The introduction.
Patrick: Hi, Emily I'm Patrick. I live in the garage.
Emily: Oh, you poor thing.
Patrick: I'm also Carol's boyfriend.
Emily: Oh, you poor thing.

I don't think she was as good as Barbara, but I don't think they should have dropped her, either. She could have provided some interesting story material if they had kept her around for the last two years.
BTW, anyone else aware that Lisa Rieffel was only 17 at the time she played Emily (who was supposed to be around 20 or 21)? Unusual for Hollywood, where actors tend to play characters a little younger than their actual age.

I liked Emily too and I wanted all the sisters together! But it never happened. :( Emily was kinda like Barbara..a free spirit! :)

Lisa Rieffel also appeared regularly on these shows: she was the daughter Lucy
on Ann Jillian's self-titled 1989-1990 sit-com and was Carrie's sister on the first
season of KING OF QUEENS (1998).
