Just found out the Summer Variety Show from 1977 called the "Jacksons" was released on DVD. I wish I had known because I was requesting it on several boards and never knew the short-lived series was released on DVD. Hopefully one of Bill Cosby Variety Shows can be released on DVD from 1970's

Yeah they had a Variety Show in the Summer of 76 and it lasted until the summer of 1977. The only Jackson that wasn't on the Show was JERMAINE JACKSON because he seperated himself from the group in 1976

Jermaine was a fool then because all the big stuff like the Variety show and the cartoon series happened after he left.

Actually it was from 76-84 for that 2nd lineup. Jermaine rejoined the group when they released the Victory album in '84. When the Jacksons left Motown for Epic in '76, Jermaine stayed behind at Motown. The group changed their name from the Jackson 5 to the Jacksons and Randy replaced Jermaine in the group.
Question - their variety show was released on dvd when, how, where?

Maybe the person recorded the show on vhs and transferred it to dvd with their own made up menus. If that show was ever released on dvd, I would know it because I would have it in my collection. How did you receive it, on dvd or vhs?

Plus this show aired on CBS in 1977 and the quality is TOO GOOD for someone to have recorded this off VHS.

So it was 3 episodes per disc. Did it have any other credits on the menu, like anything that said what studio it was released on?

I think you maybe right, i checked amazon.com and it didn't come up. I'm just confused because there is no way someone recorded these eps in their house on a VCR in 1977 as good as the quality is on the DVD. I have one ep of the Jacksons that was recorded off CBS in 1977 and the Quality is like a 4/10. So I just don't see how these eps I received was recorded in 1977.

Ok I found out this Variety Show was not released on DVD, some guy in Austrailia did the menus himself and made it look like it was a Studio Release. WOW, I would have bet my paycheck that it was released from a Studio going by how nice the Quality looked. I'm in shock-lol

I figured that's what it was. We would have heard something if it was official. Still it's interesting that somebody had it in good quality.

Just found out that the show was aired again on Austrailian TV which is why the Quality was so good. I knew those eps were not recorded from CBS in 1977-lol

I'd be tempted to go for that but I don't trust sellers on ebay who have zero feedback.

Oh the seller has 0 feedback?-lol Well I guess it would be smart to stay away then. I usually don;t buy DVD's off ebay anyway, too risky. I would buy a VHS tape off ebay though.
