Will and Grace Theme

A couple of years ago, I think before Will and Grace, there was a show about a gay man and his best friend who was a girl. It may have been the early episodes of Will and Grace before it was popular and I just am remembering it differently. But, I remember a different apartment. Anyone know of a show that had the same premise, or was Will and Grace redone in a different format?

From what i remember, Will & Grace has always had basically the same format and the same apartment. Another show sounding similar does come in mind, but not sure. I know htere have been other g ay shows since like Normal, Ohio(fox) and Some of my best Friends(cbs).

Will and Grace is what Ned and Stacey could've been. The difference was he was straight and they were in a fake marriage. But the premise was the same because they had the two best friends (married to each other) and they lived together. But the show fizzled because they ended up getting together (I know they were married but remember fake marriage) apart from that no other shows before W&G have featured gay characters in lead roles that I am aware of.:D
