Just Say Julie - music rights
Solid Gold complete episodes - duh!!!
VR.5 - Rhino planned this years ago and then scrapped it

All 5 seasons are available in the UK. Get yourself a code to hack the region on your DVD player and you'll be able to play it.

I'd love American DVD's of an old British sci-fi show called "Blake's 7." I've always wanted to see that show, and never had the chance... from what I understand, the Region 1 DVD's will be slow in coming, if at all... :(

BH is being picked up by PHE, so hope is not lost for PJ.

I should also add Punky Brewster seasons 3 & 4. Things aren't looking too good for them if Sony owns the rights and reportedly already said sales of seasons 1 & 2 were poor :( .

I think PJ has a good chance of release, why do you say that? Next year Paramount is starting Beverly Hillbillies and Green Acres has already started.
Also, maybe next year we will get Carol Burnett, because of Mama's Family.

Well, I guess I just got discouraged when we heard talk of Paramount releasing season sets of Beverly Hillbillies after the MPI releases are done, but nothing was ever mentioned about PJ. Plus PJ doesn't seem to have the following that BH or even Green Acres does. Season releases don't seem likely to me, although I hold out hope that we'll maybe get a "best of" release.

The rest of the Murphy Brown seasons, ditto, 227 both have been said to have had poor sales. Also i'd love to see Who's The Boss get its remaining seasons out there.
Just the ten of us, but it'll never happen, not enough interest. Also i'd LOVE to see Malibu Shores released as well as Savannah and Models Inc.,

with Punky Brewster, isn't there a rights issue, that different companies own the NBC and syndicated episodes?

.............I thought the 2nd season of Punky Brewster came out LAST YEAR. I think you are thinking of when the 1st season came out, which was in June of 2004. I remember that because I brought PB without realizing that it was NOT captioned and had to sell my copy on eBay.
Also, maybe next year we will get Carol Burnett, because of Mama's Family.
Never going to happen. A TON of music issues to clear that will NEVER be cleared because TCBS started almost 40 years ago and ended almost 28 years ago, so more than half the musical performers that were on TCBS have since long died.
Columbia House -USED- to sell TCBS DVD's -- one volume contained two uncut episodes, and there were 31 volumes in all (62 episodes total). CH has since long discontinued their TV library and therefore does not sell TCBS DVD's anymore. I subscribed to them and have 18 of their 31 DVD's. You would have better luck obtaining the episodes from Amazon or eBay. Just so you know. :)

So I'm going to continue hoping that MT, and the long shots that the rest of you are hoping for, finally become available.

My understanding (and of course I could be wrong) is that the first 2 seasons are owned by NBC Studios who licensed them to Shout Facoty. The last 2 seasons are owned by Sony who doesn't normally license anything out and who doesn't release anything it feels won't sell. Supposedly it said sales of the first two seaons by Shout Factory were poor.

I dunno about the sales being poor for Punky Brewster: S1 & S2. David Lambert from tvshowsondvd.com just recently said on the Home Theater Forum that Punky Brewster sold "suprisingly well due to its family nature". He has also mentioned this on his site in the past, and Shout! Factory once told me via e-mail that the show had sold well on DVD, and that they would definitely release seasons 3 & 4 if they could obtain the rights.

Punky definitely needs a full all-season release.
As for other rare shows that may not see a release...
1. Edison Twins
2. Whiz Kids
3. The Voyagers
I hope to be proven wrong! Even a Best Of dvd would keep me happy.

Sales may have been high for Shout Factory, but considered low by Sony.

I think Voyagers has a pretty good shot at being released, at least higher than those others. Universal has a good history of releasing sci-fi shows that only lasted one season. Voyagers also ranks high on tvshowsondvd

Uh... I'm going to take a guess but I think the rest of the seasons for 7th Heaven will not be produced to DVD.. I've heard that the sales for the first two or three DVD sets weren't that good..
Plus, the show is going off the air this year..

But wait, don't the musical rights have to be obtained from the writers of the songs? Not the singers.
When the song writer dies, the rights go down to the heirs. and isn't there some clause that song rights are very very long like sixty years?

TSOD stated today that Shout Factory did get the rights to at least season 3 of Punky which will be released this summer!!!! This is excellent news! If Sony really does own the rights and is licensing it to Shout Factory than maybe they can license out some of their other shows like Silver Spoons to Shout Factory. Shout Factory does a great job on their releases.

The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo
BJ and the Bear
Chips
Sanford (1980 spinoff - 26 episodes)
Archie Bunkers Place - Seasons 3 & 4
Amen

At this point all that's left is:
1. Automan
2. Good VS Evil
3. Brimstone
4. LazyTown (except for misc feature episodes)
and there were SO MANY seasons of C.H.I.P.S., Love Boat, and Hawaii Five-O, that even if they were released, I would never be able to afford them all...
The Flash was on my list, but luckily not anymore, and I hear good things for Get A Life, so I'm almost set.....
oh, by the way....why did they stop with only Seasons 1-2 of Quincy?@!#! They'd better finish it, gosh darn it, I miss watching it with my morning coffee:(

I have the theme from Code Red that I got from soundamerica.com, sort of reminded me of a bonanzaish theme. It was my favorite show. Eight is Enough I miss and don't see it being rerun anywhere.

The Code Red episode I have is the last ever episode "Fire Below". The quality is surprisingly very good.
As for Eight is Enough... what a show... nice mix of drama and comedy and I loved that house! It also captured the great feel of the late 70's / early 80's.
With all the Reunion specials in the late 80's and E True Story I reckon it'll be released on dvd. It even got mentioned on Friends!

I just ordered Mama's Family.
I`ve been considering Mamas Family as well. I`m waiting to see if the first season makes it to DVD or not. It sounds like it has a pretty great chance!
If it don`t get released `im going for the set as well. Another great classic that should of been on DVD years ago. Also, Carol Burnett Show.
I bought Sheriff Lobo there (iOffer) on DVD. Brought back alot of very funny memories.
