Ricky Nelson's children, David, his wife, Yvonne, James Burton, Ricky's guitarist and Glen Campbell were on his show last night. I have the just released DVD of Ricky singing songs from the show, also has interviews with the children. This is a great DVD released to coincide with the 20th anniversary of Ricky's death. There was also the slightest hint from one of the boys about the show being shown again. I believe Ozzie Nelson's brother is still living and has some input about the show, maybe this is why it's not being shown or released on DVD. It should be on DVD now while those of us that remember the show can buy it and enjoy. In a few years, the interest will lessen because those of us that grew up with them will have passed on. I was amazed at how much David looks like Ozzie.

I saw it last night, it was very interesting and I learned a lot about him. I screwed up taping it. I hope they repeat it again. I messed it up at 9 and midnight. :(

Anyone notice how much Sam resembles his Dad?

I missed the show when it aired, but ordered a copy of the show from CNN's website. Was nice to see Dave again, he's aged very well, although he sounded a bit hoarse. Nice they included James Burton and Glen Campbell, James was almost family, lived with Rick for a couple years, and played on every record from '58 to '67. If they ever do follow through on their plans for a bio-film about Rick, Sam could play the role. Looks like Rick and has a good singing voice, too - IMHO, better than either of the twins, although I haven't heard any of his music (he has a band called his orange).

...was one of the key writers of the TV (and radio) series, and really doesn't have that much say about the program's availability. DAVID is the executor of the complete TV library, and when HE decides whether it'll appear in syndication, on cable, or DVD, is up to him.
