I love this show and have all the three DVD season box sets. The Robot was my favorite character, my favorite episodes were the ones that took place in space aboard the Jupiter 2. The first season was probably the best, as it was straight Sci-fi stories and not as campy as in the second season. My favorite third season show is The Anti-matter man.

As you said, the first season of LOST IN SPACE was the best. Some of the
second season shows were pretty silly. But I think Guy Williams' talents were
wasted after they enlarged the parts played by Jonathan Harris and Bill Mumy.
But I guess their characters were the most popular (and, of course, the robot).

Very true, they tried to improve in the third season though. My favorite second season episodes are:
Blast Off Into Space
Wild Adventure
Ghost Planet
Trip Through The Robot
Wreck Of The Robot
Phantom Family
The Mechanical Men
I'm also a fan of Lost in Space and I liked rewatching it when it was on the
Sci-fi channel several years ago. I'd like to get it on DVD.

The Anti-matter man was also my favorite episode from the third season.
Some of my other favorites from season 3 are:
Episode 60. Condemned of Space
First aired: 9/6/1967
The beginning of the third season finds the Robinsons having to quickly leave the planet they are on, which is a similar plot to the beginning of the second season. Once in space, the robot is swept overboard and has to be rescued. Then the Robinsons find a prison ship filled with cryogenically preserved prisoners. The prisoners have been interred past their normal sentences due to a malfunctioning timepiece on the prison ship. Professor Robinson repairs the timepiece and frees the prisoners. Robby the Robot makes another appearance, threatening Professor Robinson and Major West
(as a kid, I could "watch" this episode any time I wanted, because we had it as a "View master" show...). ooooo, Lost in Space in 3-D...that was just too cool!
Episode 61. Visit to a Hostile Planet
First aired: 9/13/1967
The Jupiter 2 and all aboard are caught in a space 'time-warp'! After everything seems to return to normal, they're shocked to find Earth within their reach and decide to return home. Though they're perplexed that they are unable to contact 'Alpha-Control', they decide to land in the 'good ole USA' ....only to find it's 1947! As usual, Dr. Smith causes issues & even considers staying behind when the Robinsons and West announce plans to leave
(in this episode, John "explains" to the people of 1947 that "it wasn't until the year 1970 that the United States first landed a man on the moon"... he was off by a year, it happened in 1969...but, it's OK, as the episode was made in 1967).
Episode 66. The Haunted Lighthouse
First aired: 10/18/1967
Before leaving their planet, the Robinsons meet a boy alien called J-5. They take him with them to return him to his home planet. They meet a strange ship, which turns out to be an earth "lighthouse" for lost ships. Thinking this ship will help them with extra fuel and star charts they celebrate, however when J-5 learns that they don't have enough fuel to take him home, he angrily sets about to destroy them all with a creation of his imagination. J-5 begins a new life at the lighthouse, and the Robinson's leave in the knowledge he will be looked after by the kindly, old lighthouse keeper.
Episode 67. Flight into the Future
First aired: 10/25/1967
Dr. Smith, Will, and the Robot are accidentally launched in the space pod. They land on a planet that is controlled by an alien machine that creates illusions to confuse visitors and drive them away. The Jupiter II lands and rescues them, and the Robot destroys the alien machine.
Episode 77. Time Merchant
First aired: 1/17/1968
Will is conducting an experiment in a cave and captures a man who claims to be the man who controls time for the entire universe. This "Time Merchant" takes Will, Professor Robinson, Smith, and the Robot, to his secret lair. From there, Smith uses the Time Merchant's time machine to return himself to Earth on the day the Robinson's departed, with the objective of NOT sabotaging the Jupiter II mission and letting the Robinsons go on their way to Alpha Centauri. The Time Merchant then announces that if Smith does not get on the Jupiter II, the ship will not fly off course and will therefore be destroyed by a collision with an asteroid several months after liftoff. So Will is sent back to join Smith and try to convince him to get on the Jupiter II as he originally did.
Episode 63. Hunter's Moon
First aired: 9/27/1967
In an episode reminiscent of the first season episode "The Challenge", Professor Robinson and the Robot land the Space Pod on a planet, and Professor Robinson kills an attacking monster, only to discover that he has interfered with a contest where a highly intelligent alien who aspires to rule his home planet is being judged on how well he hunts. The alien forces Professor Robinson to take the role of one of the hunted animals in the contest, allowing the Professor one weapon. The weapon has a defect that imperils Professor Robinson, but the Professor outwits the alien and survives the ordeal.
(Seems to me, from remembering the title, that I liked this episode...but even reading the description of it, I can't quite picture it).
One other "interesting" episode was "Space Creature"... in that episode, we "discover" a THIRD level to the Jupiter II, a level which houses the "power core". The power core was located UNDER the "lower deck".
Episode 69. Space Creature
First aired: 11/15/1967
A strange blue fog seems to be engulfing the Jupiter 2 periodically. Dr Smith and Will comment separately that they want to be left alone. When the members of the Jupiter 2 begin to randomly disappear as the fog comes, Dr Smith thinks he is to blame. Eventually Will discovers a strange creature which takes over Dr. Smith. The creature tells Will that he is his own Id. Will finds out his Id is a creature he created full of Will's own personal demons, thoughts, feelings and insecurities. Will defeats the creature by overcoming his "fears" and throws the powerless creature in the power core. The members of his family are returned

I just watched "Flight into the Future" and enjoyed it. It was fun to see Marta Kristen in a slightly different role and totally different costume.
Love both Marta K. and of course Angela Cartwright. I just had to show this photo of Angela as she appeared on "Adam-12:"

Re: Marta Kristen - we're going through the first season of "My Three Sons" on DVD, and Marta appeared in a Season 1 episode called "Spring Will Be a Little Late"...she plays a friend of Robbie's. It took me a couple of minutes to figure out who she was, I never noticed her being on other shows besides Lost In Space. But she was in that episode, and looked just great...the ep was from 1960. (She also appeared in M3S in 1962 and '64).

I used to watch this in reruns when I was little.
I believe many of the episodes are available on Hulu, but I'd have to check.
Wreck Of The Robot and Phantom Family from season 2 are my favorites as well.

That was a very interesting Season 1 episode of My Three Sons. I had kept a copy on VHS for years. Really a nice performance by Marta.

She was also surprisingly convincing as a real mermaid, in the movie "Beach
Blanket Bingo" (decades before Disney's "Splash" starring Daryl Hannah).

That photo is actually Barbara Carrera. The title was mixed up with Angela Cartwright's since their photos were next to each other.

I am also a big fan and I also would like to get it on DVD, while some episodes were cheesey and stupid I sill liked the show and I always had a crush on Penny but never Judy.

New fan of Lost in Space. Got the entire DVD sets. I love the series. So far watched Season 1 and Season 2 volume 1. Guy Williams is my fave actor. Too bad his role gets reduced in the second season. He had top billing.

Yeah, I think it could be said that one of the "mistakes" that the show made was to put more and more emphasis on Dr Smith, Will and the Robot during the 2nd and 3rd seasons at the expense of the other members of the cast.
It was a fun show when I was growing up, I watched S2 and S3 as a kid (caught S1 later in reruns). There are certain eps that I wouldn't be able to sit through now, but I have some favorite eps from each season that I still like to watch.
