Which one? In the beginning and ending of every episode he names a different uncle or aunt, etc.

Well, I guess any uncle's name will do. We thought he always stuck with one uncle. Do you remember any of the names for the uncle?

Kotter had one uncle named "uripateze." When he brought a torn jacket to a dry cleaner in his old neighborhood, the dry cleaner, having recognized him from years back, shouted "Uripateze!" Uripateze replied, "Yeah. You mend at ease?"

Another of Kotter's uncles was named "Haisiddowndeer." This uncle obtained this name because one day he was at the movies, and he stood up, prompting everyone behind him to shout "Hey, sit down there!"
