I think this song is from the 50's or early 60's-lol But It sounds gets my legs moving in 2005. Anyone else like it? Just in case no one knows what song I'm talking about, McDonald's used this song in their commercial with he Half Moon with sun glasses in 1988

Definitely a classic. One of Darin's best. Here's a bit of trivia: "Mack the Knife"
by Bobby Darin was released on Sept. 7, 1959. It spent nine weeks at the No. 1 spot and 22 weeks altogether on Billboard's Top 40. Between 1956 and 1960, there were seven different versions (by different artists) in the Top 40: Louis Armstrong, Dick Hyman Trio, Richard Hayman & Jan August, Billy Vaughn and Lawrence Welk (all in 1956), Darin (in 1959), and Ella Fitzgerald (in 1960). The song was originally introduced as a theme from "The Threepenny Opera." (Source: THE BILLBOARD BOOK OF

LOL-I was joking with a guy at my job when I was playing this song and said-"The Summer of 1959" I didn' know what year it came out and just guessed 1959 and I was right

Bobby Darin was cool personified! My personal favorite song of his is "Beyond The Sea". He really wanted to be the next Frank Sinatra but was a pop singer. Bobby was cool!

I like that song too! I bought his CD a few years ago just for it. Ella Fitzgerald does a really good version too.

Mack the Knife
R. E. Hontz
Oh, the shark, babe, has such teeth, dear
And it shows them pearly white
Just a jackknife has old MacHeath, babe
And he keeps it … ah … out of sight.
Ya know when that shark bites, with his teeth, babe
Scarlet billows start to spread
Fancy gloves, though, wears old MacHeath, babe
So there’s nevah, nevah a trace of red.
Now on the sidewalk … uuh, huh … whoo … sunny mornin’ … uuh, huhLies a body just oozin' life … eeek!
And someone’s sneakin' ‘round the corner
Could that someone be Mack the Knife?
A-there's a tugboat … huh, huh, huh … down by the river don’tcha know
Where a cement bag’s just a'droopin' on down
Oh, that cement is just, it's there for the weight, dear
Five'll get ya ten old Macky’s back in town.
Now, d'ja hear ‘bout Louie Miller? He disappeared, babe
After drawin' out all his hard-earned cash
And now MacHeath spends just like a sailor
Could it be our boy's done somethin' rash?
Now … Jenny Diver … ho, ho … yeah … Sukey Tawdry
Ooh … Miss Lotte Lenya and old Lucy Brown
Oh, the line forms on the right, babe
Now that Macky’s back in town.
Aah … I said Jenny Diver … whoa … Sukey Tawdry
Look out to Miss Lotte Lenya and old Lucy Brown
Yes, that line forms on the right, babe
Now that Macky’s back in town …
Look out … old Macky is back!!

Sorry, but no one does a better job of siniging this song than Ella Fitzgerald. She's the Queen of Jazz.
