I've just been watching season #2 on TV One and noticed that Rolly is not in many of the episodes. Does anyone know, was he ill or was there something else going on? I know he didn't die, because he's back in season #3. Any thoughts?

Yeah I didn't realize that until you mentioned it. I know so far I only watch 2 eps of Amen from season 2 because I can only see AMEN at 6:30pm. So You are probably watching the AMEN eps in the morning on TV ONE which is further into season 2

Yeah I noticed that, Maybe Rolly was on his Honeymoon.

But I like Retro I can only catch it at 5:30 (my time) but I do tape the morning airings, I just haven't had the time to watch them.

I never said Rolly got married in season 1.

1 Amen Fan said that he/she wondered why Rolly was hardly in season 2. And I said I thought it was because he was on his Honeymoon.

Right, and in order to be on his honeymoon he would have had to be married which is why I said he wasn't married in season 1

What???? No one said anything about Rolly hardly being in the beginning of season 2, 1 Amen Fan asked why was Rolly hardly in season 2 period. I know that he wasn't married in saeson 1, what does that have to do with him getting married in season2. He got married in season 2 and he was hardly in that season. I figured he was on his Honeymoon.

Well I stated that because I watched the first 2 eps of season 2 so far and noticed he wasn't in those eps

I don't think it was Rolly on his honeymoon, as he appears in random episodes. I think that the actor, Jester Hairiston, must have been ill. Just my thoughts, don't know for sure. But they did not address his disapperance, much like Cassietta in season 5.

In all Honesty, he was a little too OLD to be a CAST member on a Sitcom. Ocassional Apperances would have been better

First he wasn't too old, and Second I watched an episode the other day and the Deacon had got a post card from Rolly, and he said that Rolly was having fun in Tahiti. So Rolly was on vacation.

Do you not read anything people post, I said he wasn't too old, he kept up with the younger people. What when you get 80 are you suppose to sit home all day and do nothing buy nap? It was a great thing that he was still working and he work all the way up into his late 90's.

I missed that episode where Rolly sends a post card. However, Rolly did not appear in many episodes that second season, and the episodes were in random order. He appears in more of season three and four (that I've seen so far). I'm guess that the actor himself was ill.

It's quite possible that Jester Hairston was working on another project during the second season and that's why his Rolly character wasn't used much that season. Just a thought. :tiphat:
