rich or folks with money, how they were portrayed on GT?
they kinda fall into that category also. It seems they were made to be villians or have a bad attitude. MIND YOU ALL, not all the rich characters, just seemed in general that's how they were portrayed. In the negative.

I agree. They were fodder for the Evans family to make jokes out of them.

Well I don't think they were rich, I think they were upper middle class. And I don't think they were acting stupid other then Betty getting on my nerves with her rambling.

What about Alderman Davis? I know Alderman's don't make much, but his hands weren't clean.

Rich is evil.

Desperate and destitute is pure and wholesome.

Anybody that had more than the Evans', is considered rich in the show's eyes. Not only Clarissa's parents, but also their own relatives. That preacher that wanted James to travel the circuit, pretending to be "ill" so he could make $$$$. In general, anyone better off than the Evans' fell into the category of rich and having something negative going on with them.
