It is basically saying to hit a bullseye or to hit it in a specific spot. Of course...sometimes it might actually mean right between the eyes as well :D

I take it to mean that something really took a person by surprise or knocked them off their feet, figuratively speaking. If I was served today with divorce papers, I might tell someone that I was really hit between the eyes. Of course, if that happened, I would literally hit my husband between the eyes. :lol:

Love is blind - When a person overlooks a person's faults because they are so giddy with love. When a person in love is blinded to reality.
