About looking older, the guy is 24, looking a little older is good, most of the time James Lafferty actually looks older between the two of them and he's like four years younger. Yeah, he was. Luckily he wore his seatbelt. I love Joaquin. I mean, I put him up there with John Travolta, my all time love. No one has ever come that close. So can u imagine how I felt when BOTH OF THEM APPEARED IN LADDER 49!????!!!!?????:grineyes: :eyes: :faint: He was so great as Johnny Cash also. He is an Oscar winner for sure. I am glad that unlike certain other recent Oscar-winners, Joaquin hasn't developed a "I played Johnny Cash... therefore I AM Johnny Cash" complex. Yea, just because you played something in a movie doesn't mean you are them, I haven't yet seen Jake and Heath suddenly ditching Hollywood and their girlfriends/wives for the wild west and each other :lol:

Seriously though, since J. Lo and Jamie Foxx both discovered a "I am a singer" complex because they played one in a movie, Joaquin should follow in the footsteps and guest-star on peoples albums trying to pretend to be Cash, much like how Jamie thinks he IS Ray Charles. Get over yourselves!

Joaquin wouldn't stoop so low. He knows he is an actor and even then, he doesn't pat himself on the back like some of the other celebs out there. He doesn't even watch his own movies. I guess he has no idea how great he is.

well, in a way, I think it's great for an artist to lack the excessive ego that a J. Lo or Jamie Foxx has (I think Jamie's gonna hurt himself in the long run for the sudden P. Diddy ego he has now... three years ago he was the guy from Booty Call!!!) but I never understood why some celebrities cannot watch their movies or listen to their music. Barbra Streisand's been quoted many times for saying that usually it takes a decade to pass because she can actually listen to her records. If I was an actor and did a movie I loved or was a singer and genuinely loved the songs I was recording, I'd watch and listen.

I would find it extremely hard. I hate hearing my voice on a tape recorder, home movie, answering machine, etc. so, if I had to watch myself, it would be very very hard.
Joaquin's reasons are pure artistical. He says by watching himself, he may cause himself to behave and/or act differently on the next project which then, he wouldn't be acting, he would be worrying abt how he did good or bad in his last performance. He says he has noticed that alot of celebs watch their own movies, their own interviews and they seem to be stiff, not being relaxed and real because they are going by what they have seen of themselves. For example, if I saw myself in a movie and I moved my mouth a certain way when I spoke, and I didn't like it, I would try my hardest to change that in my next movie and next interview. That's what he is trying to say.

oh ok. Personally if I loved the script of a film I was making, I'd watch the movie anyways. If anything, I think it'd be a perk if you're in one of your favorite movies of all time, I know I would be excited if I was a cast member of a favorite movie or tv show

sometimes, when I was in high school and had to do essays, I would get "A's" on them. When I would reread my essays, I would always think how I could change this or change that. I would think, how I could have improved it. When I had to talk in front of people and make a speech, I always read the speech afterwards and then I think, Man, I should have said this or that. I can see what Joaquin means by not wanting to see his movies. He may say, "Oh, man, why did I do that?" or "I shouldn't have made that expression".
