What is everyone's thought on the first episode of Season 2?

I thought the episode was amazing... I was on my feet most of the episode. I was a bit disappointed that nothing about the raft was mentioned, but I knew that wasn't gonna happen, but still disappointed. The mystery of the hatch is what kept me going, Jack's story with his wife was pretty good too. But when I saw him running with Desmond in the stadium, I knew it was him in the hatch. And what happen to Kate? I can't wait till next week

Brilliant! Wow, that hatch. We will learn much more on the hatch in 2 weeks. Next week focuses on the raft survivors.

Excellent ratings, too. Dominated the hour (13.7/20), Housewives style!

Did ABC win the night, or did repeats of CSI help CBS?

ABC of course won the night. #1 in each half hour.

I wonder if Desmond brought down the plane, like magnetically or something, well maybe not Desmond actually, but maybe it was some kind of government test area, and the place was surrounded by magnetic fields designed to bring down anything that came to close to them. Like a manmade Bermuda Triangle. It's a longshot, but I wonder

i dont like how they introduce a character .... how they play a flashback... and then show them present day... i would rather see background info after they meet them in real life. meh

I found the flashbacks to be a tad long. I was waiting for Jack flash forward and be at the island. Did someone mention that the paralyzed woman was his wife? I was happy she regained her power but really thought it was going to be a sad scene. The Mama Cass music was great. It made me think , is the time the show takes place the early 1970s?
That night I watched Martha Stewarts new show and was really surprised how well the review hour of Lost did. It did twice as well as Martha's new show. Considering a devout Lost watchers has seen the plots, I figured the review would get so so watchers.
