and i made it clear she needed to send first

she emailed several times with false ship dates

and some excuses

well after 2 months the items showed up

and they are ok

my dilema is

i wonder who she stole them from ??

i feel so dirty

i am planning on completeing the trade with a thursday am shipment


question for the brain trust

what do youall think

am i incorrect to complete the deal ??

i feel obligated, since she did her part

or do i send the stuff to one of her victims to cover their losses???

Loren,

You agreed to the trade even though you knew about her reputation. I think you owe her, even if you probably do have copies of stolen goods.

I rarely ever do trader checks because most of the time others initiate the trade and I have them send first. I could very well have traded with a notorious bad trader without knowing it.

I don't necessarily condone what you've done, though I don't recommend it. If a bad trader had something that I had been searching for for a long time, I may very well have done the same.

As for the rumor that Pam is trying to clean up her reputation? That'd only be temporary. She typically rips off a LOT of people between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Thank your lucky stars, say a silent prayer and send her what you promised. It's a shame she soiled the waters with others but you are still responsible to complete your end of the bargain.

A valuable lesson learned. Have a list of good traders and bad traders and if they contact you with no reputation, they send first.

As far as I know, she first got caught for ripping off a ton of people under the ID "William Maples" in 2003.

Fall of 2003, she then gave me a loooooooooong sob story that she was trying to make things right and started using her maiden name "Pam Beaty", ripping off tons of people around Christmas time.

Starting in 2004, she ripped off tons of people with the ID "momofhayley" AGAIN around Christmas time.

If she was really trying to get back on track, she would make restitution.

As long as you have something that she wants, she will deal with you decently. I would venture to say that she'll cosy up to some, meanwhile ripping off others with a new ID, probably around Christmas time.

Pam also tries to start rumors about moving to a different state. So far, she still resides in LOUDON, TENNESSEE!!!, so put that into your memory bank at all costs.

I just checked out her past, to be honest, if i had read all about that first, i would not have agreed to a trade, even if she sent first.

i will honor it and send back to her, but my advice is this sue, if you want to make right, then contact those who you have issues with and make it right

shes been tossed from ioffer at least two times that i know of so far

seems she honors her sales about like she honored her trades

i would figure with all the stuff she stole from people

she would have a lot better selection than this

I got an email from momo...... and she tells me that she "SUE" is NOT the same as Pam Maples, and that Pam was her sister in law, and that Pam stayed with her in the past, but that she is not the same person, and that she is not to blame for the past messes....

it is a weird story, but i suppose that hypothetically it could be true, --- I have no first hand knowledge as this is my first time dealing with her, and I hope the deal turns out well, I am trying to trust her on this one.... I am pretty trusting in general , and try to give the benefit of the doubt, the story might be true, might nor, I just wish I knew more --- maybe all of you who have had past bad dealings with this situation could fill us others in on more details to figure out the truth here


and I will post the outcome when i get the box of dvds and see for myself

That is typical behavior for Pam Maples, and this story is a repeat of what we've heard over the last year. For those of us who've been here for awhile, we've heard these stories over and over. :rolleyes:

The fact that she's acting like she's always acted when confronted proves that she has no intention of starting fresh, just fooling a bunch along the way through her storytelling, which she prides herself in. Just because a person can zip off a loooooooooong email doesn't attest to their honesty OR intelligence.

That's fine - if her discs actually arrive, then and only then I will certainly send her the traded-for discs. BUT I THINK THAT's A BIG IF... I doubt they will come. Who said she's not doing that? Most con artists have a few things going at once incase one of thier cons don't come through (this is also the reason they get caught a lot of times because they can't keep the different cons straight). Who knows, Pam could be one of the people selling pyramid schemes on tv late at night!

she told me her side of the story and according to her

its another person who previously lived with her, an in-law of some type, related to her soon to be x husband

she maintains her 100% clean status in this entire problem

Ok, I've finally seen where this post was coming from and would like to comment. I have been trying and trying to be a good trader here by sending first for the last year to everyone I've traded with. I've been ripped off a couple times doing that but I've still sent first to everyone. I have NOT ripped anyone off. I don't expect anyone to believe that because no one here really knows me. It starts with post momofhayley is Pam Maples and then people who were ripped off by Pam says momofhayley ripped me off etc. Yes, I knew Pam and know that she lived here BEFORE me. I've never on any board denied that. I straight out told everyone that. She's never lived here WITH me though. They moved out about 2 months before we moved in here. I've only talked to the lady about 6 times. As far as I know she doesn't have any tv shows to trade. As far as I know. Which she doesn't seem to need any anyays it appears. She's also NOT my sister in law as this post has seemed to be assumed she is. She's my husbands (whom I'm going though a divorce with right now and hopefully will go back to my maiden name) COUSIN. I suggest anyone who has been ripped off by her call her yourself. The number is 1-865-408-0770 That is the last number I've knew for them and yes she does still live in Loudon.

And if its thought that around Thanksgiving/Christmas I'll be ripping someone off well we'll see. IT WON'T HAPPEN. I'd just like to be given a chance without all this hassle. If I do not cmplete a trade maybe then you all could hassle and throw my name around but since I do send my trades out I see no point in that. Just give me a chance! As I said before I have NO problem sending my trades first. I even prefer to actually just to try to prove myself to others. I'm tired of trying to prove myself though. I'm sorry to all that was ripped off by Pam Maples, but I am not her! I don't know how I can prove that to you all but I'm trying. I'll still send first and will ship all my trades out. Maybe it'll take a couple years with no problems between me and traders until anyone believes me, but I'll keep trying. I don't plan on starting up another email address and pretending to be someone else. I am momofhayley - Sue Nicole Maples and I'll keep being who I am and trying to trade along with honoring all trades and maybe one day I'll be known as a good trader and given a chance.

I had one trade with Pam Maples a couple of years ago. In our trade, I sent her 4 episodes of "Under the Umbrella Tree", which is rare, and which I haven't seen on anyone else's listing. (In our agreement, we were both to send a SP tape. She sent me a CRUDDY slp tape with a worse than trash quality of "Fuzzbucket", and in return, I sent her a SP tape of "Under the Umbrella Tree" episodes, as I promised.)

Well, lo and behold, Hayley's mom has 4 episodes of "Under the Umbrella Tree" listed, wouldn't ya know. :lol:

I have been trying and trying to be a good trader here by sending first for the last year to everyone I've traded with.
Not with me you didn't. We traded some TJ Hooker last Oct. We were supposed to send on Oct. 12th. I did. 6 weeks later when nothing showed I wrote you and you confirmed that you sent the same time I did and that you'd redo them if they didn't come. The tapes showed a few days later after that email exchange - postmarked Nov. 12. In other words, about 5-10 days after mailing it, you emailed me saying you had sent them over a month ago (= Liar).

I got one EP tape instead of 2 SP tapes and the tape didn't even include everything you were to send me. I would have complained, but felt lucky to get anything out of you at all so dropped it and filed it under "experience".

Don't get sucked in and caught up with this "sending first" thing people, the best advice for dealing with Pam Maples, Sue Nicole, her cousin, or her dog is simply this: DON'T.

Just to toss this into the mix... the ebay user id 'momofhayley' has one positive that says 'cancelled - no info' and one neutral. So even if she hasn't ripped anyone off, it's a less than stellar beginning, since her feedback score is only 12. Another one I find interesting is the first feedback...'Diana Palmer is great.' Who's Diana Palmer? (Enquiring minds want to know...) :confused:

That being said-

The user ID Sue1982 popped up on my radar after ONE comment, due to quite a few concerns.
So trying to be fair, I researched the helk out of it.

I am unhappy to have to rain on anyone's parade but I am reporting the below as a forewarning for possible bad trading possibilities.

The IP address used for Sue1982 is an origination from bellsouth, and even more specific Tennessee.

The address that it was registered to, has had numerous complaints against it. There are four linked email and user names linked to this same IP-
One being Dawsonscreekfan- This was banned off Sitcoms long ago.
Loudonslim-Banned previously as well
And MomofHayley also, coincedintially banned.

The situation that arose with this batch of users has never been made perfectly clear. But if you research those particular user names, you will be able to compile information that is helpful in making a fair judgement on opening a trade with this user.

It is unfortunate when a trade goes bad- and we as moderators as well as senior members try to involve ourselves to help.
I recnetly offered to help someone made copies of a show when his burner died-
No one is above needing help. And in honety, it benefits us all when a trade can be taken care of- it saves a LOT of headaches (especially for moderators)
But in this particular situation, as it went on- The acts were not of mistakes, but in most cases deliberate.
Not once, not twice, but 3 times worth banning over.

I will not dredge up the entire situation, for those who need to look they can. For those wo were involved, this warning is going to be clear enough.
And this account will be banned on the basis of the information supplied - but I have no doubts they will again pop up.
I think most consider it a challenge, while others are simply greedy at times or feel rules don't apply.

As always please check your trade---check the amount, the items, the length of timethe user has been around.
Do they have refrences (yes you can ask!) Good traders won't mind.
Check against the Good Trader and Bad trader list supplied here, or Traders Report site-

But do your trades, eyes wide open, and never send off more than you can afford to lose.
