View Full Version : Why in the hell did it take me so long to get on board with this show?

I blind-bought the season one DVD last weekend. I started watching it on Tuesday and I'm almost done with the season.

What a great show. I've always been a huge David Cross fan, so why I never watched this on TV is beyond me. But I'm glad I've started watching it.

Woah, woah, woah.... this is the first time you've seen the show?!

And you want me to check out Undeclared.... tsk, tsk.

I know, I know. I've just never gotten around to watching it, until now. But hey, I did make the effort to blind-buy it.

Are you the pot or the kettle today, Brad? ;)

You obviously never talked to me, because I try to push the show on anyone who will listen. Like I did when I first got TiVo. Anyone who will listen to me I ramble off quotes and whatnot from the show. Glad you bought it, you just missed the replay of the second season, they showed all 18 episodes in 5 weeks. The third season premiere is 2 weeks from Monday! I can't wait.

Also I think Undeclared is worth the buy.

Look at it this way AKA, at least you'll be able to appreciate it while it's still on the air, not like I did with Freaks and Geeks years later. Better late than...well, really really late.

Anyway, it's an extremely funny show. S2 was just as good as S1, and hopefully S3 will be the same.

I also just noticed Paul Feig directed 4 episodes of this show.
Whistler’s Mother, Let ’Em Eat Cake, Burning Love and Ready, Aim, Marry Me.

I never knew that.

I'm wondering why the S2 DVD is coming out after season 3 debuts on DVD. Big mistake, in my opinion.

It was similar with me, AKA. The first season showed on BBC2 earlier this year (they're currently showing season two.) I watched a few of the season one shows and, while I quite liked them, I didn't really "dig" the show until I bought the first season DVD a few weeks ago - I remembered enjoying some of the episodes and thought I'd buy the DVD so I could see them again and also see the episodes I missed. It was FANTASTIC! II wondered why I hadn't caught onto it when I'd first seen some episodes. I certainly hope the second season DVD will be released in the UK. Unfortunately, I'd guess it's not getting very good ratings on the BBC, as it's put on rather late - about eleven p.m.

What a coincidence, its not getting good ratings here either.
I recommend watching each episode at least twice, there is so much going on, you may miss a gag or something the first time around!

I also agree the DVD should come out before season 3.

This is also a show I haven't been able to get into. I am contemplating wether or not to blind buy it.

Well if you are going to watch it, I suggest watching it from episode one. If not, you will miss a lot of running gags, and things won't make sense. I think that is why a lot of people can't get into it.

Well... I never really watched a whole episode yet, and if I start watching it will definetly be starting from episode 1.
