My favorite characters are Mr. Sheffield, Fran, Maggie and Gracie.

There's no question about it, Fran is one of the all-time best actresses, and, therefore, I think she plays the best character! (F.Y.I.: No, she does not have an annoying voice!)

Sylvia, she is hilarios. Whenever Sylvia is around everybody is laughing, it just doesnt stop. But her character is a kinda mean stereotype of jewish mothers in Flushing, but shes still funy!

2) Niles ESP when he is with C C Babock his insults are the BEST if insults can be good

3) Niles when he is alone he is HILARIOUS !!!

I can't believe no one here chose Grandma Yetta! Every single time she is in an episode, I find myself laughing constantly!
Her outfit, her voice, her personality is just hilarious!

I love Fran, but I am a big Niles fan. The ungoing battle with C.C. is so funny. He can always think of the perfect insult or comeback. I liked how he was Fran's ally. Also, his nosiness made for some great moments. I just loved when he was trying to figure out what "the thing" was. He is also a very talented singer, as we got to see a few times. He added so much to the show; it wouldn't have been the same without him.

Definantly Niles with Fran as a close second. He had a perfect comeback for every insult that C.C. had for him. :lol: Those 2 were soo funny! Who knew that they would end up getting married. I LOVED the ep where Niles and C.C were going to quit, and they ended up sleeping with each that that same night! :lol: Those were some great writers and awesome actors!!!

Well, I think it's pretty darn obvious who my favorite character is... I mean, she's my favorite actress after all.

And I'm glad I'm the only one who thinks Fran Drescher's voice is not annoying.

BTW, Niles would probably come in as my second fave on the show. Heck, he even did a pretty decent job of playing a holographic Moriarty on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

I'm bored, so I decided to bump up this old thread. Where are the "Nanny" fans?! Anyway, my fave characters are Fran, Max, Niles and C.C. Those four are like a modern version of the Ricardos and the Mertzes :lol: I don't think I could single out any one of them b/c all four are so great.

Most definitely Niles with CC a close second! I also really liked Brighton esp. in his younger days - they gave him a lot of great lines. It's hard to grasp the fact that that 'kid' graduated from college already, lol.

hehe CC & Niles...I love the episode where fran goes to meet lenny her penpal and Niles has CC going around acting like a chicken hahaha I was literally laughing so hard I almost rolled off my couch!:)

I have to agree about that episode, Piper! "The Pen Pal" is one of my faves, and that scene in particular cracked me up!
