I saw your posts Zion, way to go. I was scanning through some of the posts but the comments posted by "others" enraged me so. I feel you are putting it best. Keep up the good work. How stupid can those posters over there at TVLand be. Hell, if they don't like the program, then don't watch it. I mean, I could see if they had a comment or two abt a certain character, theme, or something, but they seem to hate the show in general. I don't get them. And I don't want to get them. Akita, you get them!!!!

I'm AkitaZion on the TVLand board. Zions Mother was too many characters. I tried just Akita and it wouldn't let me register. After I added Zion, it went through.

They aren't hard to find. Look at the Good Times Board and the Demeaning Thread, the Oatmeal Thread, and the Get Rid of Good Times Thread.

I'm still browsing through the others.

I'm trying to find the dirty kitchen posts.

They are hateful at TVL. May be some of the same people from the Courttv message boards.

The one that really offended me was the "Momma 's baby boy loves shortin' bread."

That shortin' bread statement is as bad as someone using the "N" word. I could not believe I even saw that there. I'm telling you. After seeing a few threads, it burned me up over there.

I finally found the comment about the "dirty kitchen" It wasn't even worth responding to. No one on that board had enough intelligence to respond that there is a difference between dirty and wear and tear. The material that those cupboards were made of during that time would lose color. And we know how walls can get when they haven't been painted for years regardless how often you wash them down. And they didn't paint the projects with Sherwin Williams or any top of the line paint. Hell most of them were painted with paint that contained asbestos.

Anytime you're as hot headed as they (TVL) are over there nothing but foolishness and ignorance is revealed. They don't respond they react.

I guess if they find me on the Gunsmoke and Bonanza boards living it up, they'll bash me there too.

retro, it's a different breed over there. There lives must be a mess on a daily basis so they have to lash out to people they can't see. Cowards. :D

You better check it out tonight. Someone posted that the thread will be gone by tomorrow. Not sure if that was a moderator or what.

No one over there is intelligent enough to handle posts like that.

It's EVERY bit as bad and on some levels even worse!! I'm in shock that something like that is tolerated over there - especially on a board like TVLand. Wonder how they'd feel if fans boycotted watching their newly obtained show because of allowing such garbage!!

I never thought I'd ever spam a board, but sight unseen even, its becoming very tempting I'll tell ya!! ;)

I saw your response. I was offended by posters stating that the show was racist and demeaning for "ALL" black people.

Don't speak for me. I'm not in the "ALL" category on subject. :nonono:

I'm going over there and checking it out...not only that I am going to send an email to the person in charge and give them a few words or two. That kind of "crap" is intolerable and I can't sit here knowing that some idiot with the mind of a scabie thinks they can post stuff like that. Check you out over there guys!!!!!!

They need to either shut that board down, or make a clean sweep of banning :bye: most of the posters.

Mind boggling isn't it? Racism alive and well in America! There's no way they can condone that crap - although I'm surprised a few of those posts have been left as long as they have.

Okay done. I emailed them a letter telling them what I feel and how I am not going to visit their website until I get a response from them telling me they are going to fix this issue. They also have a phone number. They are in New York. So Brian, you being in the media, you are just gonna have to go over there on behalf of all of us and give them a piece of all of our minds. You live there, you live closer; too far for me. Let us all know.

the fact that someone even wasted time posting abt dirty walls boggles my mind. I know i posted a thread abt the kind of walls the Evans' had, but i would not even mention the dirt or anything like that. that is so stupid. that louse was just trying to ire those true fans of GT and nothing more. well, maybe they were trying to imply something else, but i won't even mention it. They are also using words like 'lynching', so that only tells you what level of mentality they have. I don't want to visit TVLand boards until they respond to my email. So I only have you guys to tell me that they have taken care of things over there.

I sent an email to tvland via this web address "community@tvland.com"
and they responded within 48 hours.

If anyone is interested in voicing your complaints or suggestions, they have included an alternate response in their response.

Good stuff! Thanks for the link. Methinks its time to do some letter writing!!

and btw - the idiot that mentioned that dirty kitchen thing - and seems to think it's only blacks that would have a dirty kitchen, should watch a few episodes of All In The Family sometime. I noticed Edith's kitchen in need of a cleaning and/or rehaul much more than I ever did Florida's.

Man, do they get rough over there or what?

I didn't see the shortening bread comment, but this is the second time that I have head about it being racist. (the other was about a wrestler - who always sang in the dressing room - started singing it when a black wrestler entered the room).

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is "shortening bread," and how/why is it such a negative thing. All i know about it is that it was a song that Ethel sang in an I Love Lucy Episode.

Thanks in advance for the explanation!

Shortnin Bread's origination is as a negro plantation song. The poster at TVLand made the comment in a negative way, as he/she does with all of their posts. He/She was making a mockery of the Afro American traditional song which is also considered and American Folk Song.
