BerNadette Stanis' name change

Why is it that in the first season her name is only shown as "BerNadette" no last name? Then in the following seasons they show her last name? Just curious.

THIS IS MY FIRST POST HERE...YAAYYYY!!!!
Anyway, that whole thing with her name irritates me. I think it was fixed after the fifth or sixth episode of the first season. If you notice, everyone's name is huge and "Stanis" didn't fit, so they had to shrink down the font size of everyone's name.

Nadette Stanis

instead of Bernnadette Stanis or Bernnadette

I'm going to check my season 1 DVD to see when Bern Nadette became Bernnadette Stanis. Everytime I see the "former", I cringe.

Startiing with episode 4 God's Business Is Good Business, you'll see Bernadette Stanis, FULL name on the opening credits.

I think she may have been concerned about the way people were pronouncing it

thats my guess

it never really bothered me, because I know how to pronounce her name the right way

but its like my name

its "Trish-a-lla"

with the first "a" sounding like "ah" and the end of the name "la" sounding like "la"

but I bet any of you on this board that if you called with right way to pronounce my name you would still not be able to say it right

So I understand where she is coming from

but that was the best way I could explain her point of view atleast maybe.

Whenever I'm typing her name out, I always spell it

BernNadette Stanis

. . . becasue thats how the Internet Movie Database lists it as its primary spelling

It was probably a first-season episode. The "Bern Nadette" only appears in the first 3 episodes of the first season. Starting with the fourth episode, it becomes BernNadette Stanis. I'm using my DVD's as a reference. It might appear as "Bern Nadette" on other syndicated episodes besides the first 3.

I have to look back at my DVDs. I know the Bern Nadette was a mistake from the first 3 episodes of the first season...but the other 3 names???

I think I saw her name tonite appear to be Bern nadette Stanis. The "N" no longer capitalized. This is crazy.

The fonts used on those credits where Bernnadette's first name was only used, were pretty large, but it still doesn't make sense why only her first name was used!! Very weird.

Remember....it was placed below Ralph Carter and Jimme Walker's names

Bernadette Stanis was too long, so they ended up shrinking the fonts for all the names starting with the fourth episode. I'm gonna work on some screengrabs this weekend...lol

I never could stand it when actors change their names/spellings over and over again. Pick one name/spelling and stick with it!! :lol:
