Friends... after the series ended, I realized how much I basically stuck with the show even tho I hadn't really loved it in about 4 years

Good Times, All In The Family, Happy Days, Three's Company, Cosby, Seinfeld
Probably more if I thought about it longer.

The most obvious one for me would be Happy Days when the Ritchie and Ralph characters left.

"The Cosby Show" and "Three's Company"
Of the shows still on the air, the first one I can think of is "E.R." I stopped watching it two or three seasons ago. I guess I lost interest when Anthony Edwards left the show.

Id agree with most of that list...although, I hated Seinfeld all along, and was never a BIG fan of 3s Company or Good Times< though i did watch them

I unfortunately kept watching for another year until they finally killed of Romano. It really isn't the same series anymore after AE left.

The season when Romano met his spectacular demise was probably the last one I watched.

It's funny, I liked Seinfeld during most of its initial run, but now when I look back at the last couple of seasons, I find them usually just stupid and ridiculous. There were parts of it I never liked - like when they'd show him doing his standup routine.
I wasn't a HUGE fan of either the other two, although did tune in each week, once Chrissy left 3'C I stopped watching (although I never really liked her anyway - it was more for John Ritter and Joyce that I watched). Good Times - when James left. I remember JJ started to really get an "attitude" in real life also about being the star of the show and the "dynomite" thing was wearing a bit thin.
When TJL mentioned E.R., it reminded me that I lost interest in NYPD Blue after Jimmy Smits - watched only occasionally after that. I think they delayed the season so much that I ended up getting involved in other shows. Same thing happened with Six Feet Under, and even though I'll watch it when it comes back on, its a painful, boring wait for The Sopranos. I'm going to have to rewatch last season all over again to remind myself what was going on! I hate having to do that.

That was the last one I watched too. I figured if Romano had become the only reason I was watching the show, I might as well quit.

I was a die hard TC fan. I even watched Three's A Crowd each week. I still thought it was good after Chrissy left although not as good as the early years. I'll agree with you on Good Times. The show really JTS after James left and that final season with Keith was awful. Its funny though because Good Times is the only Norman Lear show I never watched regularly when it originally aired. I really got into it when it first went into syndication. As for NYPD Blue. I actually am in the minority. I became a bigger fan after JS left. I had started to miss a lot of episodes until his death episodes began and they were some of the best drama ever on tv IMO. I wish they would rerun The Sopranos from the beginning because I've always wanted to see the show but I just got HBO this year.

Quick reason not to watch the last few seasons of TC: Terri Alden, a character so dull, she even made the cockroaches in the appartment die of boredom

I used to love both The Brady Bunch and The Facts Of Life. I was actually kind of obsessed with both of them at one point or another. I still enjoy them both a lot, and I'll get them both on DVD, but its nowhere near the scale I once enjoyed them.
I also used to be obsessive over Survivor, but ever since "All Stars" it hasn't been the same. I still enjoy it a lot, but not as much as I used to (I recorded every episode of Seasons 3-9). Whereas I used to think about it a lot when I wasn't watching, now it pretty much comes and goes. When I'm watching, I'm zoned in, but the second its over, I couldn't care less. I think a reality overdose is the reason for it.

Family Matters: When I was younger I used to watch this show all the time.. I thought it was a great show, one of the funniest shows on tv... but I tried to watch it again recently and I was just uninterested.. it just wasnt as impressive as the first time I watched it..
Home Improvement: Same as Family Matters
WWE Smackdown!: This show I still watch every week because Im a wrestling fan and no matter how much the WWE trys to ruin themselves, I'll still stick by the WWE. Since 2000, I basically recorded every episode Smackdown!, put my full focus and attention on Smackdown and not miss every minute. but last month I decided to stop recording Smackdown. because the WWE isnt making any effort to better. If the match isnt interesting I change the channel and before I didnt.

I still look forward to each new Survivor, but I think the same thing happened with me with Extreme Makeover, The Nanny type shows (if I want to see bratty kids I can just go grocery shopping) and Wife Swap (too convaluted).

Some of you may know of my love for Murphy Brown, but come season 10 I watched all of it hoping for a creative epiphany, but all I got was more depression with the cancer storyline. I wanted to tune out, but the finale was sorta redeeming, but it was a far cry from the first six seasons or even season 8, which is the third worst season IMO.

 I know! Its just that the first time I came to the boards was to discuss John's death really,.....I had no idea these boards would become addicting! I've been considering a name change, but I still like the sound of TripperFan.
To be honest, it wouldn't be in my list of top ten shows < slightly embarrassed > ;)

8 Simple Rules - Even though I didn't like John Ritters character, the show wasn't good without him, and David Spade just took over the show, I stopped watching aobut half way through season 2.
What I like About You - I still watch this show whenever it is on TV, but since season 2 the show isn't about 2 sisters living in New York, its about two girls having love problems who happen to be sisters

MB was still very good the first few years with the kid. It wasn't until Miles left that it took a big dip in quality.
I think the baby out of wedlock storyline defined the show. Dan Quayle is mental.

Three's Company here too... I love it for nostalgic reasons, but the comedy is quite lame at times. I am looking forward to Season 4 on dvd though, but that'll be the last set I buy.

I agree - it was when Miles left. I didn't watch it from the beginning, but got into it the season before the baby and was hooked until Miles left and the show headed permanently for the dumper.

Shows, during the original run, that I stopped watching:
Happy Days - though now I can barely watch an episode past Season 4, back in the day I watched up until the new Arnolds. I think I stopped right around that time.
Three's Company - somewhere during Season 5. Now I watch most all of it.
Remington Steele - Loved season 1. Season 2 with the removal of Murphy and Bernice ticked me off and I watched the entire thing, but not much after that. Doris Roberts irked me.
Moonlighting- Somewhere after Walter was introduced. End of Season 4.
Becker - Basically stopped after Reggie was dropped from the show. Completely stopped when they got rid of Bob.
Seinfeld - After they killed off Susan, it left a bad taste in my mouth as the characters had never stooped to such indifference or the show to such nastiness. I mean if you watched Seinfeld from the very beginning- every week, every original broadcast- it was really a foul pitch they threw. I watched sporadically after that.
Seinfeld really was phenomenom on how everybody watched it each week and talked about it the next day.
Of course in reruns I watch them all.

I Dream of Jeannie - The idea of a woman calling her husband Master is so appalling. If the show was on in this day and time it would be unacceptable and women's groups would been protesting.
Beverly Hillbillies - Looking at the show now the plots were repetitous throughout the series.
Petticoat Junction - Watching the show on TVLand a few years ago I did not realize how boring the show was.
Family Ties - After season 4 it became The Michael J. Fox show and the plots around Alex were repetious.
Eight Is Enough - The show was great for the first two and half seasons. It was a nice warm family show even after Diana Hyland passed away and brought on Betty Buckley to play Tom Bradford's second wife. The show did not miss a beat but somewhere in the middle of the third season the show was beginning to push the envelope with the oldest and his girlfriend living together and many subplots was surrounding that. EIE quickly lost steam.
Kate & Allie - After Susan St. James gave birth she looked like she no longer wanted to be there. Her acting was not the same.
Cheers - The sexual humor got old and Sam got dumber as the years went. His oversize shirts he wore to hide his gut.

I disagree, I can watch the first few seasons, I guess cause I can relate. I was 11 in 1988 when the show premiered and Kevin was 12. Plus I so loved Winnie Cooper! I havent seen an episode in years, I miss it!
