I remember Julia on TV when i was about 6 or 7 , Diahn Carrol was the first black woman i'd ever seen ( I grew up in a small town where black people simply didnt exist { At the time } ), and I fell instantly in love with her and the show...it's SUCH shame that the terrible prejudices of the time ensured that this beautiful lady and her charming show would be short lived and dissapear from TV forever! :(

I do agree with you. I loved her character on TV. She was so smart beautiful, sophisitacated and had spunk.

Not a problem. I loved the show. It only ran three years but there are other shows that ran less than that like the Munsters and Gidget and the Flying Nun ran three seasons as Julia did. There were about 86 shows. I think it could have gone on for a fourth season had Diahann Carroll had not asked to get out of her contract early.

This was the first and I think the only successful single black family tv show. Now if they was any other shows like this please let me know? Thanks
