This was a heartfelt moment for Terri. She looked at Jamie and knelt before her. She looked up at her with tears in her eyes.

"Jamie Lynn, honey, we love you so much. That is the reason we are doing this. We want you back with us. We want you happy and cheerful again. You know I love your spunky spirit. We have had so many great times together. Honey, it took your Uncle Larry coming after me to make me realize how important I am to this family. Everyone here is an important part. Sure, we are going to disagree from time to time. We wouldn't be normal if we didn't. But honey, we can make it thru all of that. Your Uncle Larry has a temper. Believe me, I saw it when he came after me. I had to do some growing up. I know you are going thru a hard time right now. You are trying to figure out where exactly it is that you fit in. You are too old to be a baby, but to young to do alot of adult things. Let me tell you, you fit right here in my heart. You are as much a daughter to me as Anna is. I am looking forward to our upcoming trip so much. We just need to clear the air so that we can be our happy little family again. I love you so much Jamie Lynn!! Don't you ever forget that!! Nothing will ever change how much I love you!! I think I speak for everyone when I say that I am sorry if I hurt you in any way. I never want to hurt you. Sorry for being so long winded. I just had alot to say."

Terri sat on the floor and covered her eyes with her hands. She hoped that Jamie understood what she was saying and why she was saying it. Janet and Jack were next.

Jack looked at his daughter fondly. "Honey, everyone here is trying to help you fit in here because we love you so much. We don't ever want you to feel like you're not a part of this big, yet quirky and dysfunctional, family. It hurts us when you tell us that we don't love you or that we aren't around for you because that couldn't be further from the truth. The reason your aunt and uncle brought you here today was to reassure you that 'Yes, we may fight and say hurtful things'- but that doesn't mean we love you any less. And it also hurts us greatly when you say things like that to us. Words do wound people, honey."

Janet faced her daughter and patted her leg. "Jamie, we are always here for you no matter what. We don't give up on each other. It'll be the Trippers and Dallas' til the end, ok? If there's ever a problem, you know you can come to us and we'll listen to you like you're a mature adult." She waited eagerly for Jamie's response.

Jamie took a deep breath. She appreciated the fact that her aunt and uncle were being nice, but she was a little upset that her cousins were accusing her of something she didn't do. She had covered for them many times when they could have gotten in major trouble, and now they were saying that she was bad mouthing her uncle around them, which was totally untrue. She was also a little hurt by her aunt's perception of her sense of humor. No one else thought it was rude or grotesque. "Note to self, never say anything funny in the Dallas household." She thought to herself. She knew they were expecting her to apologize, and she was going to, because she was a mature person.

"I'm sorry that my behavior had such an affect on you. I'm growing up, and sometimes things happen, and I just don't know exactly how to handle them. I'm sorry that I'm not the perfect niece like Robin and LJ seem to be the perfect children, but I'm only human, so I make mistakes. Sometimes I make jokes when I feel uncomfortable in a situation, but they aren't ment to be taken as rude, or disrespectful. I am an obedient child and I have respect for all adults, even when they treat me like dirt." Jamie said what she said in a respectful and loving way. She wasn't rude or angry with her words.

"My family is very important to me, especially my parents and my brother. I don't know what I'd do without them. My dad is always there with an interesting story or a funny joke. Mom is always there to give good advice and to listen with kindness and understanding. Bobby is the best big brother a girl could ask for." She smiled at her brother.

"He helps me when I'm in trouble, he makes me laugh when I'm sad, and when people are mean to me at school, he beats them up!" She said with a laugh.

"I love all of my family, whether they're Trippers or Dallases, I love them all."
Jamie smiled. She truly was thankful for her family.

Terri smiled to herself. Things seemed to have went okay. Not perfect, but okay. That was all anyone could ask for right now.

She was extremely tired from the days events. She needed to take a nap. It was Monday and she had a doctor's appointment today in the afternoon. So, she excused herself and went to her rooom to take a quick nap before she went to the doctor's office. She was stopped in the hallway by Kate.....

"Hey Terri, Thanks for being such a great friend." she hugged Terri. "Hope your appointment goes well. Kate walked upstairs and past the kids rooms.
She heard the kids talking on the phone to their friends. "We're does she get off calling LJ and I perfect kids, just because we don't disrespect our parents and other adults in the family, she's so full of crap....Yeah, I know."
LJ was talking to one of his friends about Jamie and where to meet at the mall. "Doing a little eavesdropping?" Larry whispered to his wife. "Don't be silly."

They walk into their room. She lies down the bed and he lies next to her. Larry stretches. "How would you feel about moving?" Kate wasn't expecting that question. "Well, with the new baby coming....and after what happened today...I guess it would be good....hmmph, some apology." Larry got on the phone and called the agent who sold them the house they're in now.

Terri got a call on her cell phone. It was a realtor and she had found what she called the perfect house. It was only a block away from the rest of the family. It had 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a huge pool. Terri made an appointment for later that day to take a look at it.

She also decided that she was glad that she was going shopping tomorrow. After going thru her entire closet, she finally found something that fit. They were sweat pants and a sweat shirt. Yes, a trip to the mall was definitely in order for her.

She arrived at her doctor's office with a few minutes to spare. She looked around the office and saw a few people waiting. There were mostly couples holding hands. She wished that Zack was here to share this with her. Although she knew he was looking down on her. She was nearly 4 months pregnant and they were going to do an ultrasound today. They were going to try and see if they could tell the sex of the babies. They called her name and in she went.

She smiled at the doctor and she sat on the table in the office. The doctor came in and her measured her. She laid on the table and they started the ultrasound. Then she saw her babies for the first time. It was a little hard to make out, but there they were. The doctor then set about trying to determine the sex. She was given the okay to travel. At least for the next month or two.

"Well, Mrs. Tripper, lets see. It looks as if.... Well, you are going to be the proud Mommy of two little girls!"

"Girls? Are you sure?" Terri was thrilled. She couldn't wait to tell Janet, Jack, Kate, Larry and Jamie.

"I am as sure as I can be. And from the looks of it, they are going to be identical twins too."

Terri's mind started swimming. Two little girls. Could any woman be happier?

She was floating on air when she met with the realtor that day. She loved the house. It was perfect for bringing up two little girls and would be perfect for when John and Anna came to visit. She made and offer and waited to see what happened.

Then she went home and saw Kate sitting on the couch. She was still giddy from her doctor's visit when she started talking to Kate.

"Hi Kate!! Guess what? Your never going to guess what happened today at the doctor's visit."

Kate smiled and laughed "Okay, so if I'm never going to guess tell me!!"

"Well, the doctor told me it was okay to travel and then she did an ultrasound. Guess what? I am having two girls. Identical twins at that!! I am so happy. Now we can go and do some serious shopping for baby stuff. If this day could get any more perfect I found the perfect house!! It is only a block away and is perfect for me and my growing family!!"

She grew quiet and said "I still wish you could come with us shopping..."

"Well, I'll tell you what, Larry's taking me to the doctor later on and we'll find out what my limitations are now, it's been a couple months and I'm still pregnant so we'll see if I can start being more active, Then, you Janet and I will buy out Southern California." "Twin girls! Oh that's so neat! We'll have fun looking through baby books and buying clothes." She couldn't wait.

Kate had some news for Terri. "We put the house up for sale and we're going to look at a place closer to the beach it's bigger and modern too. It's in Malibu." Kate was all excited about the move, but at the same time would miss being able to walk across the lawn to visit the Trippers. "We've always wanted beach house, but, never could afford it, well what we'll get when we sell this place, we'll be able to have our dream house and put the kids in a smaller school."

Terri was shocked. She wasn't sure what to feel. "I don't know what to say."
She had a feeling she knew what the real reason was for selling the house, but, she kept it to herself. "Why don't you come with us to look at it." she asked Terri.

"I would like to come with you and see it. I need to call Janet and tell her the news. I definitely need to do some shopping for maternity clothes though. These old sweats are not going to last long. I feel like I am getting bigger every second."

She knew why they were leaving. She just never thought they would do something that drastic. She wasn't going to say anything though. It wasn't her place. They would always be family no matter where they lived. She sat on the couch and put her feet on the coffee table. Her stomach was already showing signs of the pregnancy. She fell asleep on the couch still thinking about the baby girls growing inside her......

It was dark when she woke up. She took a few minutes to figure out where she was and then she smiled as she went into the kitchen to get something to eat.

Larry came home around 7 and ran upstairs. "Larry?" Terri turned off the burner and walked upstairs. She heard him crying "Larry...What is it?" He looked up at her with tears in his eyes. "Kate had a miscarriage Terri, I need to get a change of clothes for her, it happened at the doctor's office." Terri plopped down on the bed and cried. "I'm coming with you Larry." She demanded. "Great because, I don't know what to bring."

Larry wrapped his arms around Terri and cried on her shoulder. "How am I gonna tell the kids?" Terri went down to the kitchen and called the kids on their cell phones. Robin was just coming through the door when hers rang. "Hello?" Terri heard her and hung up. "Nevermind, you're home, Robin sit down." She had a feeling she knew what it was. "It's mom isn't it?"
Terri nodded. "She had a miscarriage earlier today, you're dad's upstairs getting her a change of clothes, she'll be home tomorrow morning." Robin buried her head in her hands. "Oh my god...Poor mom and dad...they were really excited about the new baby...I was even starting to look forward to being the big sister." She sighed and went to check on her dad. "Oh Robin?...I was gonna go with your dad to the hospital, but, I really think you should, this is more of a family moment. "I'll stay here and try to get in touch with your brother." Robin agreed and ran upstairs.

She and Larry shared a tender father daughter moments and left for the hospital. "Your mom's gonna be okay, Puss." He squeezed her hand. "I know, dad, it's just not fair though." He agreed with her. "You're right, it's not and it really sucks." Robin smiled at him "You're a cool guy, dad, don't let anybody tell you different." Larry pulled into the hospital parking lot. "Damn, I was hoping we wouldn't see this place so soon." Larry was shocked to hear her say damn, not that he and Kate were religious people, but, still. "Whoa, I don't know where you got that language from...must be that guttermouth mother of yours." Robin laughed. "Yep, mom's a foul-mouth." They get out of the car. Larry takes the bag of clothes out and they walk in to see Kate.

Jamie was still thinking about LJ and Robin. They used to be so close. How could they say things about her that weren't true? She would never tell on them to her parents, that was just plain childish. She thought it was funny that they were calling her immature, when they were the ones running around saying, "Jamie did this or Jamie did that..." Being a tattle tale was extremely immature. She didn't know why they were against her all of a sudden, but she didn't like it and neither did Bobby. She and Bobby had discussed it when they got home and he was just as upset as she was. Her birthday was coming up soon, and she wanted to have a family party, but now she had decided to have a party with only her parents, her brother, and her Aunt Terri. The Dallas family would just say something mean about her and ruin her special day. She made a decision to stay away from them as much as humanly possible.

Suddenly, Jamie had an idea. If she were really nice to them, maybe it would melt their cold hearts. She went downstairs and started making her famous homemade pizza. After the pizza had finished cooking, she wraped it up and put it in a basket along with some other goodies and a note, and walked over to the Dallas house. She put the food on the doorstep and wrang the bell. She quickly hid in the bushes. She saw Terri pick up the food and take it inside. She left her hiding place and went back home.

After Jamie got home from putting her plan into play, she walked into the door and sat down on the couch. Jack was already there watching TV.

"Hey sweetie, you ok?" He knew that she was probably thinking about what had just happened that day. Going to an intervention about yourself wasn't exactly fun, and to a 13 going on 14-year-old girl was probably a little bit insulting. He knew he was going to have a talk with her.

Jamie sighed "I'm ok dad." She said honestly. "A little confused, but I'm ok." She looked at her father and smiled. He could always make her feel better when things were getting her down.

Jack looked into his daughters eyes when she spoke. They were full of honesty, and he knew that she was truely ok with it, which made him feel so better. But he still felt like he was a horrible dad or something. He was the one to blame for most of Jamie's behavior. He babied her too much, and he knew he had to tone it down a bit.

"Good..uh..Jamie, d-do you think I'm a good dad?"

Larry and Jamie walked into Kate's room. Robin hugged her mom. "Hey lady" she warmly greeted her mother. "Lawrence" she teasingly greeted her husband. "Katherine" he greeted her as they hugged. She touched his soft black hair. "hmm...you used conditioner today, I see" Robin was a million miles away. "Hey miss space case, what's on your mind." Kate asked.
"I've been feeling bad about the whole Jamie thing, can we pick up of her favorite bagels and cream cheese, we need to make this right." Larry thought about it and okayed it. "Sure, we'll stop off on the way home."

They left the hospital and stopped off at Brueggers and then at a place
that sold empty gift baskets. When they got home, Robin did the same thing, little did she know that Jamie had beat her to it. She rang the doorbell and hid. Janet opened the door and looked down to see the basket. "Jamie..."
she called out in a sing song voice.

Jamie motioned for her father to hold on a second while she answered the door. She saw a small basket on the doorstep, and she heard Robin call her name.

"Get out here, you crazy thing!" Jamie said with a laugh. She smiled at Robin when she came out from her hiding place.

"Listen Robin, I don't know what all I've done to upset you, but I truly am sorry. So, if you could forgive me, I'd love for things to be the way they were before." Jamie said honestly with a smile

Jack watched as Jamie ran from the couch to the door, only to find her favorite bagels on a doorstep. Jack smiled as he watched Robin come up to her with a smile on. It made him so happy that Jamie was apologizing and trying to fix things up by herself.

Maybe I'm not such a bad dad after all..

While at the mall LJ, Bobby, and their friends had decided to go see the movie they had to miss before. And while they were in the movies that dreaded phone call came but LJ had turned the ringer off so the best Terri could do is leave a message.

As the movie ended all the guys walked out. "thats gotta be his funniest one." "No way! the one before was way funnier but this was still good." "Hey can you guys be quite for a sec?" interupted LJ "Look LJ i wanted to ask you something." "Go ahead Bobby." "Well i wanted to know why you are acting like that around Jamie and if you could stop?" "Acting like what?" "Like making up things about her and tattling on her." "Hey like i said before I have a short temper and I was really mad then. Plus she also started calling me one of the perfect children when i was the same way and still am. You know im not very respectful to adults outside our family. The fact that she was disrespectful to my dad only means that she found a different out put then I did. You know how many contact sports I do." "Yeah maybe your right but can you still try to lighten up?" "Sure thing Bobby I promise I will-- *cell phone rings*-- Hold that thought Bobby. Hello?" LJ answers "LJ it's Terri something happened get home as fast as you can and I'll fill you in" "Ok aunt Terri I'll be right there. Bobby i promise I'll try to be nicer to Jamie but right now i have to get-" "Home i heard I'll tell the guys for you." "Thanks man."

And with that LJ rushes to his car and drives home at 80 miles per hour when a cop pulls him over. "Do you know how fast you were going son?" "Yes officer, but theres a family emergency and I need to get home." "What kind of emergency?" "I'm not sure I just got a call from my aunt that something happened and I need to get home." "Ok, how far away from home are you now?" "Only a couple minutes." "Ok then, I'm still gonna have to give you a ticket and I want you to stay inside the speed limit next time. Going the speed limit will get you anywhere fast enough trust me I know." "Yes officer it won't happen again."

And with that the officer returns to patroling the neighborhood and LJ returns home this time going inside the speed limit.

Jamie and Robin hugged and said their goodbyes. Jamie walked back inside and sat next to her father.

"Now, you were saying?" She looked up at him seriously.

Janet's heart melts as she sees Jamie take the bagels from Robin's hand. She knew things would be alright in time.

"That was very nice of you, Robin," Jamie said to her niece, who smiled widely in return.

"And I think Jamie left a surprise for you guys too," she added with a wink.

She turned around and plopped down next to her husband on the couch, leaving the cousins to chat. "We've raised them well, haven't we?" she whispered.

Janet couldn't wait to bring one more in to their home....she also couldn't wait for that shopping trip.

'I better call Terri', she decided.

She got up and quickly dialed the Dallas number, hoping someone was there to pick up. Ring....ring....

"Nothing..nothing at all." Jack smiled. He didn't need his daugter or anyone else to tell him how good of a father he was. He knew in his heart that he was a good father and that he raised good children. She smiled back at him and he gave her a kiss on the cheek. He watched her as she ran up to her room.

Jamie went up to her room to get her sewing stuff. She had been working on a blanket for the new baby. Since they didn't know the sex of the baby yet, she was using both blue and pink. The main thing about the balnket though was the beautiful horse material she had picked out. The horses were all different colors, running across the fabric. She took her stuff downstairs and sat on the couch next to her parents. She saw her father looking at her curiously, wondering what she was doing.

"I never knew you sewed!" Jack said as he watched Jamie sew the beautiful quilt. She was so talented! And Jack didn't even know she enjoyed sewing, or she even had a sewing kit. Maybe Janet bought it for her.. he thought to himself.

"Wow Jamie..that's so beautiful. Is that for the baby?" He smiled as he continued to watch his daughter work his fingers in making the quilt.

"Yes it is." Jamie said with a smile. She continued stiching the complicated pattern. She pulled the needle in and out around the fabric, making little detailed stiches as she went along. She pulled the needle through again and it went through her tumb.

"Ouch! That smarts!" She said as she examined her thumb. Sure enough, there was a little hole where the neddle had gone through, right on the pad of her thumb.

After making up with Jamie, Robin felt better. She forgot to tell her cousin what happened with Kate, so she ran back over and tapped on the sliding glass door. Jack motioned for her to come in. "Uncle Jack, Aunt Janet, I'm sorry for the way I treated Jamie and I'm sorry it upset you and Aunt Terri,
things that were said hurt and I wish I had reacted better." They went to hug her "Wait, that's not all...um..this is really hard...Jamie should hear this too." Janet went upstairs to get her. "Jamie, can you come down here please, Robin's needs to tell us something." Jamie was very curious,

"Okay, be right down!" she called out as she put her sewing aside and bounded down the stairs. "Robin what's up?" Robin paced the way her father did whenever there was bad news. "See...my mom...she...she lost the baby today." Head in her hands, Robin cried a little.

Jamie grabbed her cousin in a hug. She couldn't believe her aunt had lost the baby. She held tightly to Robin, knowing that she was very upset.

"Shh, It's ok." She whispered, trying to comfort her cousin.

Terri ran to the phone. She picked up on the fourth ring.

"Hello?"

"Terri, it's Janet. How are things over there?"

"Oh, Janet it's just awful. It's terrible. I...."

Janet started worrying that something was wrong with Terri. "Terri is everything okay with you and the babies?"

"Everything is okay with me. Actually I found out some great news today. Well, it seems that I am going to have identical twin girls. I am really looking forward to going shopping tomorrow. Nothing fits anymore..."

Janet noticed that everything didn't seem quite so chipper. "Terri is there something else wrong? You sound upset?"

"Nothing is wrong with me. Oh, Janet!! It's Kate! She lost the baby today!!"

Robin hugged Jamie tightly. This is what family is all about she thought.
it was Janet's turn. She hugged Robin tightly while talking to Terri. "Aunt Janet, I don't feel good, where's your bathroom." She ran upstairs and only made it as far as Bobby's room. "Won't he be surprised." Jamie joked as she and her mom cleaned Robin up.

LJ parked the car in the driveway and bolted through the front door. "Hello!"
He almost ran into Larry. Who was carrying a plate of food to Terri.

"What's going on Aunt Terri called and said to get here as fast as I could?" "LJ" answered Larry "Your mother lost the baby today at the doctors." "What?!?, Did they say why?" "They aren't sure but they think it might be stress." "When did this happen?" "About an hour ago." "And noone called me until 10 minutes ago?" "I tried" responded Terri "but your phone was off. I'm assuming you were in the movies." "Oh. Yeah sorry. This sucks!" And for the first time since he was little LJ began to cry. And as he did the family took turns hugging and comforting him. "Does everyone know?" "Yes everyone knows except Bobby but we called him shortly after you." "Good."

the family began to go about their business as they waited for bobby to return.

"Hey everyone." Bobby called "whats wrong?" LJ turned to Bobby "My mom lost the baby." "Oh no!" "Oh yes." "God this sucks when did it happen?" "While we were in the movies." "Dang" "You can say that again."

As LJ continued to tell Bobby what happened the rest of the began their own conversations.

Jamie tried to think of a way to make Robin feel better. Suddenly, she had an idea.

"Robin, my riding instructor, Susan, called me this morning and she said that Rikard's owners are going out of town and they want me to take care of him while they're gone. That means that I get to ride him anytime I want. Susan offered to teach me for free, since I'm taking care of Rikard. I was just thinking you might like to come to the barn with me. You could watch me ride, then you could help me take care of Rikard. What do you say?"

Jamie looked at her hopefully. She knew that Robin needed to clear her mind for a while, so she hoped she would accept her offer.

"Thanks Jamie" Robin hugged her again. "I think i'm gonna go to the beach for awhile though before my mom comes home from the hospital, I appreciate the offer though, Heck, I don't even clean up after snowball, that's LJ's department." Robin stood up and walked around a bit before walking home. She gave them a little smile. "I'll think everything will be okay now."
Robin opened the sliding glass door and walked out. She came home and snuck up the back stairs where nobody would bother her. "Oh good, Robin's home." Terri was gonna go up and see how she was. "Okay, thanks Terri, I'll be up in a second. LJ and Bobby looked at each other and then at Larry.

"Dad, is there something going on that we should know about?" LJ third-degreed his father. "Of course not! How could you even ask a question like that. Your mom is the only woman I wanna..." LJ and Bobby, put their hands up. "Okay, that's enough, Uncle Larry." Bobby said his his goodbye running out the door. He didn't want to stick around for birds and bees, courtesy of his uncle. It was bad enough hearing about it from his own father. "What's that piece of paper you're holding son?" LJ sheepishly handed Larry the speeding ticket. "Great, just great...like I don't have enough to worry about, hope you have money to pay for this." He was a bit annoyed.

Jamie hugged Robin goodbye. A few minutes later, Bobby came bolting through the door.

"Where's the fire?!" She asked him curiously. She was hoping they would have a chance to talk since they hadn't in a while. She had missed their talks when they would laugh and talk about school, their friends, and their family.

Terri walked up the stairs and into Robin's room. She was laying on the bed and had her hands over her eyes. So she didn't see Terri approaching. She didn't know she was there until Terri sat on the bed. She looked at Terri and smiled.

"Robin, I just wanted to let you know that if you need to talk I am here for you."

Robin started crying and she sat up to hug her aunt. Terri didn't say anything she simply held her and let her cry. When she was ready Terri would listen to what she had to say.....

"I don't even know why i'm crying, I wasn't really all that excited about the baby. Didn't have time to get excited." Robin didn't really understand what was going on. "Why did this happen, Aunt Terri?" Robin was searching for answers.

Larry heard Terri talking to Robin and stood outside in the hallway waiting for the right time to come in. Terri searched for words to say, but, even she didn't believe them. She had to try though.

"Only for 1 more year!" "Thats true but until your birthday I can still use that. And if you want to be an adult then I won't pay for the ticket and you'll need to hope you can get the money before they charge you more for it. And thats final."

And with that LJ storms up to his room furious that his father treated him like a child."Well you do act like one sometimes." said Robin as she and LJ talk. "Oh shut up. But hey whats buggin you you seem awful down." ....

Terri's heart broke as she comforted Robin. She didn't have all the answers to why it happened. Sometimes no one does, but that was beside the point. She had to come up with an answer for Robin.

"Honey, I'm not going to lie to you and tell you that I know why this happened. I don't. It is like when your Uncle Zack died. I kept asking myself "Why him?" I didn't understand how something like that could happen to me and Anna and John. The best answer that I can come up with is that maybe God needed another special angel to look over all of us. Now he has two angels of ours up there to watch out for us. Zack and the baby."

Terri knew it sounded crazy, but it was the best she could come up with on the spot. She let herself cry with Robin. In spite of everything it felt good to cry sometimes......

Robin felt better after talking to Terri, everything she said made sense, but, she couldn't believe LJ was asking why she was down. "Duh...LJ, mom just lost the baby? helloo?" Again she was told to shut up. "Okay, kids, knock it off, I don't need to hear this tonight okay?" Snowball shot up the stairs and tripped LJ as she ran under his feet growling at him as she ran to Robin, she whined to be picked up. "Did that mean boy fall on you?" she winked at her brother, showing that she was kidding. "Hey dad, can the dog and I sleep in your room tonight?" Larry sighed as he scratched snowball behind the ears.
"You're a little too old for that aren't you?" He asked her.

"Not in the bed with you, eww..besides you snore." Larry was too tired to feel insulted. "Fine, get your sleeping bag and drag it in, if it'll make you feel better..and I don't snore...much." Robin got set up infront of the her parents bed. "I'll be right in." Larry knocked on his son's door. "What?" LJ answered.
"Can I come in?" Larry asked. The young man sighed. "Sure, why not." Larry walked in, stepping over dirty clothes and other crap. "What happened, did the cleaning lady quit?" LJ laughed but remembered he was mad at his dad.
"How much money do you have in your account, if you have at least half, i'll help pay the other half and you can work it off by helping me around the house, we'll talk in the morning, good night." Larry left the room and went back to his own room. His daughter had taken over the bed.

Terri decided to go and sit by the pool. She would have loved to take a swim, but her suit didn't fit. She sighed as she stared out into the darkness. Why can't things go right for our family? Why does there always have to be some kind of drama. She had been excited earlier about the twins. Now the excitement was tempered with regret. She was happy for herself, but sad for Kate. She couldn't help letting the tears fall down her face. She looked up at the sky and talked to Zack.

"Well, I guess you know what happened here today honey. Do me a favor please? Look over Kate and Larry's baby. I can't believe this happened to them." With that she covered her eyes and cried.......

Larry had managed to move his daughter over and lie down next to her. He rolled over onto his stomach and fell asleep. The dog jumped up on the bed and got comfortable in the small of Larry's back. Great, now i'm a pillow
he thought. After awhile she jumped off and ran into LJ's room. She jumped up on the bed and walked along his back. "Get off!!" he yelled, the dog growled and jumped down. She ran back to Larry and jumped up on him again and stayed there for the night.

Terri awoke the next morning feeling like a tons of bricks had hit her on the head. She barely remembers going to her room and falling asleep. She was excited though. Today was shopping day. Then she remembered what had happened yesterday and some of the joy went out of her face.

She decided that she would cook breakfast for she walked over to Janet's house. She was in the kitchen cooking when Larry walked in. He looked like he hadn't slept at all and his hair was all over the place. Terri smiled and said "Rough night?"

"Yeah, the darn dog decided to sleep on my back."

Terri laughed and asked "Hungry?"

"I am starving."

She continued cooking for a few minutes in silence. He looked at her funny and asked "Hey, how come you aren't singing? I remember you saying that you liked to sing while you cook."

Terri shrugged and said "I don't really feel like singing this morning. And before you ask I don't want to talk about it either...." She turned away and kept cooking in silence......

Janet spent the remainder of the night in bed, depressed about the news she had heard. Why did this stuff have to happen to such GOOD people? Kate and Larry were her dearest friends and both of them had hearts of gold...so why did bad luck happen upon them so often?

Poor Katie...she really needs us right now, she realized, tossing and turning in bed. Jack was also sleeping fitfully, appearing to be in the middle of a dream. She held on to him tightly, hoping he would calm down so they could both sleep well. Sure enough, he stopped tossing and gradually relaxed in her arms, snoring softly. Janet fell asleep within minutes.


The next morning, Janet awoke early, getting showered and dressed before the others could beat her to it. The warm water beating down upon her in the shower did the trick--she felt ten times more refreshed and ready to start the day. After tugging on capri pants and a white tank top, she headed downstairs to call Larry.

"Hey, Larry...it's Janet...I was wondering how you're doing. Is everything ok over there?" she asked when he picked up after two rings.

"Hi Janet, yeah, we're doing okay. I wish I can say the same for my back though...stupid dog decided that I would make a good bed." Janet laughed.
"I'm sorry...Larry, it's just, I'm getting a mental picture of that...you should go over to Kimberly's Day Spa and get yourself a massage." she suggested.
"Isn't that a woman place Janet?" He was clueless when it came to that stuff. "Larry, don't be ridiculous, it's for men and women." He told her he would go before he picked up Kate and thanked Janet. "Great i'll make an appointment." He got off the phone and turned to Terri. "Guess what, I'm going to a day spa for a massage."

Larry sat down to eat, Robin walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. "I had the weirdest dream, somebody moved me." Larry looked at her strangely. "It wasn't a dream my dear, I moved you." She sat down next to him and tried to grab his plate. "Ooh, breakfast!" he slapped her hand lightly.
"Hands off, this is my food, you little devil, yours is over there." he gave her a wink and a smile before going back to his own plate."

Terri laughed at the thought of Larry going to a spa.

Terri finished cooking breakfast and decided that she needed to get out of the house. She grabbed her cell phone and a portable radio and walked out the door. She needed to get out of the house and decided that the beach was a good place to go. She had always liked going to the beach before. This time was no different. She love the smell of the salty air. Something about this place seemed to call to her. She doesn't know how long she was sitting there before she saw Richie. He was jogging and didn't realize she was watching him. She smiled and decided to surprise him. She waited until he got close before she popped up behind him.

"Hey stranger!"

He jumped about 10 feet and smiled when he saw Terri. "Hi yourself!! How have you been?"

"Pretty good. I've missed you."

"Ditto here! The kids have been asking about you and when they are going to see you again. Especially Amanda, she was very taken with Jamie. Kept asking me when I was going to talk to her mom and dad about the horse lessons. I think I am done for huh?"

"Yeah, especially if Jamie and Amanda work together. Jamie can talk anyone into anything!"

Terri and Richie smiled and then he said "Well, I have to go, work calls."

Terri smiled and kissed him softly. He jogged away and Terri smiled as she headed back to Larry and Kate's house. She walked into the house and talked to Robin about the day ahead of her.

Terri laughed at Larry said to Robin "Well, kiddo if you don't have any other plans would you like to come and do some girl stuff with you Aunt Janet, Jamie and me? Do some shopping and maybe get some lunch? What do you say? Up for keeping us old folks in line?"

Robin smiled and started to say "I'd love to come..." Then she looked at Larry. she wanted to make sure that it was okay with him before she said yes. "Is it okay if I go dad?"

Meanwhile back at the skate park...

"Dude she hates you!" "No she doesn't. She just thinks I'm a stupid show off thanks to you!" raged LJ "Dude just face it, she hates you guts." "No I think her friend Ashley does from when I fell on Ashley's face." The car filled with laughter as LJ and his friends drove back. "Hey you guys wanna come over since we have to go by my house anyways?" asked LJ. Of course his other reason for this was having all these loud friends over would get everyones minds off of what happened. "Sure but Dude you know she and Ashley hate you now!" They all continued to argue until they walked in the door only to find Larry, Robin, and Terri sitting in the kitchen... "I've told you a thousand times already she hates you man!..." Larry, Robin, and Terri all turned at this. "Who's this she we're hearing about?" questioned Larry "Uh... no-one Dad, just no-one..." responded LJ "Yeah Mr. Dallas we were only joking there is no she." piped up one of LJ's friends. They all attempted to bolt upstairs at that. "Wait one minute LJ, who is she, it's to late for any 'there is no she' excuse. Tell me who she is." demanded Larry "Just tell him LJ, he won't let you leave until you do anyway." "Thanks Robin your a 'Big Help'." said LJ "Her names Kristen Statiles and we saw her down at the skate park with one of her friends. Nick wanted me to show off for her a little but then i messed up and landed on her friend Ashley. So now she thinks I'm a big show-offy jerk." "Well I imagine her friend hates your guts." This time noone laughed at the joke "Tuff crowd, anyways Are you dating her?" "Not yet." shouted Nick from the doorway "Oh! Bad time, sorry." "Thats Ok Nick. So your not dating her and she thinks your a show-offy jerk. Well that's enough for today. You can go with your friends now LJ." And with that LJ walked off up to his room with his friends completely embarressed.

Terri laughed at the scene with LJ and his friends. She remembered being that age and doing crazy things to impress some guy that she liked. Sometimes she missed those days.

Terri decided to leave Robin alone with Larry so they could discuss her going shopping with Terri. She really wanted her to go, but she would understand if Larry said no. She went out back to sit and put her feet in the pool. It was already warm out, so the cool water felt good. She thought about the house she wanted to buy. She was hoping that the sellers would accept the price she offered. She loved the house and it was close to all her friends.

Then she remembered something that Kate had said. Something about selling this place and moving to Malibu. She needed to talk with Larry about that. She hated the thought of them moving so far away. She loved being able to walk and see her friends. She saw Robin running up the stairs, so she walked inside and said "Larry, we need to talk....."

She didn't quite know where to start so she just dove in.

"Well, Kate had mentioned yesterday that you and she are moving to Malibu. I want you to know that even though I will miss you I understand that you are wanting to live near the beach."

She continued "You need to follow your dreams and do what you think is best for your family. I just hope that if you move before...."

She couldn't continue. She was still too emotional thinking about Kate and what happened to talk about herself. She imagined that it was because she felt a little guilty. Here she was wrapped up in her happiness, when her friend was going through the worst imaginable thing. She wasn't sure if she would feel comfortable for a long time around Larry and Kate. All she could do was hope that things would work themselves out for the best....

"Terri, I really don't know what to say. Just that it's a dream we've had and we're finally able to afford it, besides, too much has happened and we really need a fresh start. I need to get the kids out of that school, you've seen LJ's friends. I want what's best for them, look, can we talk about this later?.. kids we're gonna be late! Let's move it!" Robin tore downstairs dragging her brother behind her. "I'll call you later guys!" LJ hollered as he was being dragged downstairs. "Do your friends need a ride back to juvenile hall?" Larry kidded. "My friends are not delinquents" Robin rolled her eyes. "Joke...you know haha." Larry was getting really annoyed.

Terri shook her head laughing as she heard the three of them arguing back and forth as they walked out to the car. Janet walked over to the Dallas home and tapped on the window. Terri motioned for her to come in.

Terri could understand. It was just hard for her to let her friends go. She laughed at the antics of the three of them. She sure was going to miss them and knew that no matter what they would be friends.

Terri hugged Janet and asked "Are you ready to go shopping? Cause I know I sure am ready to go shopping. Nothing fits me anymore and I am getting really tired of wearing the same sweat pants day after day. They even feel like they are getting snug on me."

Janet smiled and said "Well, you are getting bigger you know."

Terri laughed and said "No fair!! I am having twins you know!" Laughing they started making plans for the day. Then Terri asked "Hey where is Jamie? She needs new clothes for the trip too. Plus we need someone to give us fashion advice. Heaven knows it's been years since I have done any serious clothes shopping. So once we have Jamie, which store should we attack first?"

Smiling Janet just shook her head and looked at her funny. Terri looked at her and said "What? Is there something on my face, or on my shirt?"

Jack walked in through the front door, walked up to LJ's room and made sure the other kids left. "I'll drive you guys home." One of the boys spoke up.
"Oh that's okay, we live close by." Jack was going to make sure they left. "Oh it's no trouble, we'll stop off for ice cream, if you boys are good...just kidding." They just stared at him and shrugged "Okay" It was a little too hot out for walking.

Half an hour later, Larry, Robin and LJ walked out of the spa feeling very relaxed. They weren't expecting their father to do something like that.
Sure he did great things, but, he always managed to surprise them. Larry was especially feeling wonderful. "LJ...don't worry about the ticket, i'll take care of it...I'm still not happy about you speeding, but, you were rushing to be with your family when we needed you, which is a good thing." LJ wasn't sure if this feeling would wear off so he didn't get too excited about it.

Jamie woke up from a deep sleep, her hair sticking out everywhere. She'd had a horrible dream last night, so she wasn't in a very happy mood. She showered and put her clothes on. She brushed her long brown hair and put it up in a ponytail. She walked downstairs and saw her mom talking to Terri. She went into the kitchen and fixed herself a bowl of cereal and sat down at the kitchen table, rubbing her hand across her forehead.

Terri smiled at Jamie and said "Boy you look like you had a rough night?" That got a dirty look from Jamie as she ate her cereal. Terri laughed and said "Are you excited about the shopping trip today? I know I am. I need alot of new clothes."

She looked at Jamie as she continuted to eat. She was strangely quiet so Terri asked "Okay Jamie Lynn, what's up?"

Jamie shrugged. "I just had a really bad dream last night, that's all." She said quietly. She really didn't want to talk about it.

"Where's dad?" She asked. She knew her father could always make her feel better when she was down.

Jack walked through the door a couple minutes later. Taking LJ's friends home was too easy. They decided they didn't even want ice cream. Boy were they little basket cases.. Jack shook his head as he entered the kitchen and saw Jamie. Her hair was all over the place and her eyes looked like she was going to faint or something. Jack grabbed a board from the cupboard and sat down next to her.

"Bad night?" He asked. He grabbed the cereal box and poured some in his bowl.

Jamie nodded. "You guessed it." She said sadly. The dream from last night kept nagging at her and it was driving her crazy. She just wished she could forget about it, but it was such a horrible dream.

Jack looked at her and tried to find out what was wrong. Either she couldn't go to sleep or she had a horrible dream. Jack sometimes had the worst nightmares ever and he hated them. But he knew that Jamie probably had a bad dream. If she was so tired in the morning, it wouldn't last long because she had a huge amount of energy.

"You want to talk about it or no?"

Terri was worried about Jamie, but didn't want to pry. After all it wasn't really her place. So she went and sat at the kitchen table with Janet and they talked about the day ahead. She smiled at Jamie a few times and tried to get her involved in the conversation. Nothing she did was working. She was feeling really bad for her neice. She just wished that she would open up. Sometimes the best way to feel better was to tell someone else about how you were feeling. Oh well, thought Terri. She will learn that as she gets older.

She was just having fun chatting with Janet about their day ahead.....

"So, Terri, what sorts of things do you want to do in the city? Any particular shops you want to go to?"

Janet dreamed about how the city would be, especially since she'd never been there before. She hoped Terri would show her around a bit, take her to all the cool shops. She definately needed some new maternity clothes(she had plenty of "skinny clothes"!) and new clothes, toys, and a crib for the baby.

She waited for Terri to answer.

Jamie gulped. She figured that talking about it might help.

"It was awful!" She said, as small tears rolled down her face. "I dreamed that it was time for the baby to be born, so we all went to the hospital. A few hours later, you came out with a sad look on your face, and you said that mom had lost the baby." Jamie broke into small sobs.

"I already love this baby, even though it hasn't been born yet, and I'd die if something happened to it!" Her face was full of fear as she tried to wipe away some of her tears.

Larry and the kids walked into North Hollywood Medical Center. "Hey, why don't you kids wait in the lobby. I wanna spend a little time with your mother before we spring her from this place." "Eww! Dad, come on, this is a hospital!" Larry shushed her. "...then why are you using your outside voice?" LJ laughed. "Sorry, but, that was funny." Robin smirked at her father.
"I'll make you a deal daddy dear, I won't use my outside voice if you don't use your bedroom mind." Larry blushed a little. "Okay, you've got a deal, besides, I just said that to torment you, c'mon, let's go get your mother before she freaks."

Twenty minutes later Kate is in the passenger side, sitting quietly as they drove up the coast. "Howya doin there hon, do you need anything?" Larry loved to pamper her. "Yeah, i'm fine, just thinking." He reached over and patted her leg. He pulled into the driveway of a beautiful modern beachhouse.
He turned around and saw the kids sleeping in the back. "Hey kids, wake up!"
They stretch and are still a bit groggy. "Where are we" "yeah, who's house is this?" They asked. "It's ours, we're selling the other one and moving here."
Robin and LJ were speechless. "Oh and here's another newsflash for you two, you're going to private school, okay let's go inside and look around."
Boy, Larry sure had a knack for breaking big news.

Terri smiled and said "There are a few shops that I have been wanting to visit. There are so many places to go. I say we just start at the beginning and work our way down. Then we can go sightseeing and maybe take in a show or too... There is so much to do and shop for. I need all new things. Plus I need two of everything."

Terri suddenly realized just how daunting the task ahead of her was. She wondered if she was up to the challenge....

He hugged her tightly as she quickly clung on him for support. That was what his nightmares were mostly like - it usually had to do something with his family and something terribly wrong happening. And he knew what it was like to actually live through the nightmare because it had happened not long ago. But they were doing better now. There was hardly any drama left in the family.

"Honey..that won't happen, ok? That never will. Trust me." He whispered as she continued to cry on his shoulder.

Jamie wiped her eyes. "I know. It was just so scary." She was still fearful. She needed something to take her mind off of it.

Janet grabbed Terri's hand and squeezed it. "You'll be fine," Janet whispered. "Besides, you have one pregnant woman and two able-bodied young girls to watch after you!" Janet winked.

She was so excited about this trip! She began to peek her head around the corner in to the living room to see where Jamie and Jack had gone and discovered them sitting on the couch. Jamie's eyes were welled with tears and Jack was holding her.

"What's wrong?" she asked cautiously. Terri appeared behind her and noticed the same thing. Both girls were worried now.

Bobby came down the stairs already dressed in khacki shorts and a t-shirt. He already ate breakfast and was on his way to go out and hang with my hid friends. He paused as he heard someone crying and it sounded like it was Jamie. He came into the living room and saw Jamie crying on the couch.

"Hey, what's wrong?" He asked.

"She had a bad dream." Jack told him and Jamie continued to wipe her eyes dry.

Suddenly Bobby had an idea. "Hey, why don't me and you have a brother/sister day?" He asked. He would have to call his friends and cancel their plans, but he didn't mind. His sister was more important than his friends.

"I'd like that, but I'm going shopping with mom and Terri." Jamie smiled at him. "I really appreciate the offer though."

Suddenly, Jamie remembered that she was taking care of Rikard this week. She needed to get to the barn to feed him, and he would need to be ridden so that he could get some exercise.

"Would you guys like to come with me to the barn to watch me ride? You haven't seen me ride since I moved up to the advanced level." She looked at them with hope in her eyes.

Janet looked at Terri and smiled. "Well, sure! Your father can take us over before we go to the mall. Are you all packed and everything for later this week?"

Bobby was a little sad that she couldn't go, but shopping was definitely a women's thing and that would get her mind off of her dream.

"Sure, I'd love to go." Bobby said with a smile.

"Same here hon." Jack smiled and Jamie and suddenly turned around when he heard Janet talk.

"Yes mom." Jamie answered politely. She went upstairs and changed into her riding pants, boots, and a horse t-shirt. She grabbed her helment out of the closet and carried it under her arm. She went downstairs and grabbed some peppermints to put in her pocket as a treat for Rikard. "Let's go!" She exclaimed as she ran out the door and got into the car.

When they got to the barn, Jamie jumped out of the car and ran inside. She found Rikard in the back pasture. "Hey buddy!" She greeted him with a smile. He ran up to her and she put his halter on and led him into the barn. He was full of energy today, which excited Jamie. She knew he was ready to do some jumping.

When she had finished getting him ready, she put on her helment and snapped the strap in place. She led him out of the barn and pulled herself up onto his back. She signaled him to move forward and they entered the ring. She warmed him up slowly, making sure that he was loosened up. Once he was loosened up at the walk, she signaled him to trot and she worked him in a circle. He moved with ease as she guided him along the rail.

Finally, the moment of truth. She gave him permission to go into a canter and he bucked happily. She circled him around the ring a few times, then she turned him toward the first jump. "One, Two, Three..." She counted the strides in her head as they sailed over the first jump. Jump after jump, she and Rikard nailed them each time. They were perfectly in sync. She slowed him to a walk to let him cool down as they headed back towards the barn. She removed the saddle and bridle, and used the hose to cool him off. When she had finished, he nudged her impatiently. He knew she had a treat for him in her pocket.

Jamie laughed. "Here you go." She said as she offered him a peppermint. He lipped it from her hand and chomped on it gratefully. As she stood there petting him and whispering softly, she didn't notice her family coming up behind her.

Janet tapped Jamie on the shoulder and smiled. "Wow, you really know how to handle that," she said, motioning towards the horse. She hated to admit it, but horses scared the bejesus out of her. They were soooo big. Thankfully Jamie knew what she was doing or else Janet would've been hesitant to send her off to the barns.

"He has a name mom!" Jamie said with a laugh. Her mother looked completely terrified. "He's just a big baby. He'd never hurt anyone." She rubbed his velvet nose and he closed his eyes, thoroughly enjoying the attention.

Terri kind of held back a little. Although she had talked Jack and Janet into lessons for Jamie, she was a little nervous around horses. She said "That was wonderful Jamie!! You did great!"

"Thanks Ter!" Jamie beamed. She noticed everyone hanging back. "Come on you guys! He doesn't have razor sharp teeth or huge claws, just a big, floppy tongue." She motioned with her hand for Rikard to do the trick that his owner had taught him. He opened his mouth and stuck out his big floppy tongue. "See?" She said with a laugh as he licked the palm of her hand. "He's just a big baby." She added as he rested his head on her shoulder.

All Janet could focus on were those big bucked teeth that were getting all too close. She laughed at herself for being so scared and dared herself to get closer. As soon as she did, however, Rikard nuzzled his huge nose against her butt in a friendly greeting, causing her to get lifted off the ground. Everyone laughed at her as she cried out and she couldn't help giggling herself.

"I'll stick to riding in a car," she joked.

Jamie laughed. "Watch what he can do." She said proudly. "Rikard, are you a bad boy?" Rikard shook his head. "Are you a good boy?" He nodded. "How old are you?" He used his front foot and pawed at the ground to count out 10. "Very good!" Jamie praised him. "Can you smile for everybody?" He lifted his top lip to show everyone his teeth. "What do you do when you do something bad?" He hid his head behind her arm. Everyone laughed. "Good boy, Rikard." Jamie patted his head and gave him another mint. He thanked her with a happy nicker.

Terri smiled at Janet. "I'm fine over here. I don't want to get my umm shoes dirty. Yeah that's it my shoes might get dirty."

Jamie, Jack and Janet bust out laughing. Terri was trying to figure out what was so funny. Jamie pointed down to her feet. Terri had forgotten that she had worn the oldest and dirtiest shoes she owned. She laughed and said "Um, I don't want to get them any dirtier?" Trying to cover her nervouseness she laughed and said "So Janet about that shopping trip." There was no way she was getting any closer to that horse. Even if he was beautiful.....

"Yea, dirty," Janet said, poking her friend in the ribs. She giggled. "Yea, we should really get going before the afternoon crowd hits the mall. You all ready to ditch the men for a day, Jamie?" she added, smiling at her husband.

"I suppose." Jamie turned to Rikard. "Bye buddy! I'll be back to check on you later!" She wraped her arms around his neck and he nuzzled her with his nose. She turned and gave her father a hug and kissed him. "Bye dad, I love you."

The Dallases came back home after a day out. Kate was really tired so she went upstairs to take a nap. Larry and Robin fell asleep on the two sofas in the livingroom and LJ took a nap on the porch swing where it was nice and shady. Snowball jumped up on the couch with larry and fell asleep beside him, her head resting on his stomach. He opened one eye and looked down at this little creature, snoozing on him. Dog...what am I gonna do with you? he smiled as he pet her, drifting back to sleep.

It must have been about 7, when Terri came home from shopping with Janet and Jamie, who were dropped off first. "Did you two have a good time?" he asked her. "We sure did..we bought out the mall though, I hope you have room for all my stuff." Larry laughed. "Before, I forget, we just put the house up for sale and we already have an offer, I can't believe it." I was hoping to tell you before you saw the for sale sign on the front lawn."

Terri had so much fun shopping with her friends. Jamie and Janet were so much fun to be with. They had laughed and bought something from almost every store. They bought matching shirts for each other. Although Jamie's was a bit different. Janet's said "Baby" Terri's said "Babies" Jamie's shirt said "No baby or babies! Just the big sister and cousin!" She had bought cribs and various other things that she would be needing for the babies. Janet had bought a crib and lots of other necessary things for a baby. They all bought new clothes for the trip. Terri had done some serious, although happy damage to her credit cards.

Terri was happy for her friends. They were realizing their dream of living someplace they always wanted too. She was shocked that it was happening so soon though. She told Larry "I am very happy for you guys!! When is moving day?"

She wasn't sure she wanted to know the answer though. She had turned off her cell phone and didn't realize that she had gotten a message from her realtor. She was checking her messages and got one that made her heart soar. "Hi Mrs. Tripper, this is the realtor. The house that you wanted to buy, well the accepted your offer. They want to close on it soon. Call me as soon as you get this message!"

Terri looked at Larry and said "Well, it looks as if I am going to have a new home too..."

"That's great Terri" he hugged her. "I'm not sure yet, I'm waiting to hear back from the realtor." The phone rang "Hello?...really??!!...Oh that's great...well, it is a little short notice...could you hold on for a second?" Larry put his hand over the mouthpiece. "When are you moving into your new house?" he asked Terri.

Terri smiled and said "Two weeks from today. I just need to talk to Jack and Richie to see if they can help me move my stuff into the house. Plus I am going to be having all the new furnitire for the babies delivered. I am so excited!!"

She was walking on air when she found out the news. She wondered when Larry and Kate were going to be moving. How on earth was she going to be able to let two of her best friends go? Jack and Janet still had no idea. This was going to be a shock to them.....

"That's great Terri" he hugged her. "I'm not sure yet, I'm waiting to hear back from the realtor." The phone rang "Hello?...really??!!...Oh that's great...well, it is a little short notice...could you hold on for a second?" Larry put his hand over the mouthpiece. "When are you moving into your new house?" he asked Terri. "I don't know, why?" "Well I wondering if you wouldn't mind staying with us until you move in." Larry went back to the person on the phone. "No, it's fine, we can be out by then...okay, thanks, bye." He hung up the phone.
"Let's go out by the pool and talk."

Terri and Larry sit on the edge of the pool, the cool water feels good on their tired feet. "Would you like to stay with us in our new home until you're moved into yours?" Larry asked her. "The other part of that is, we need to be out by friday, man, Kate, the kids and I will really have our work cut out for us." Larry sighed. "As far as the closing, the agent will call back tomorrow and let us know...You know...you're not losing us. Malibu isn't on the other side of the moon. We're only 45 minutes away Terri."

Terri smiled a sad smile. She wanted to word her response carefully. She had so much to say to him and not knowing if she would say the right or wrong thing.

"I would love to stay with you until I move into my new place. As far as loosing you. My head knows that. Try telling that to my heart though. I feel like you are moving to the other side of the planet again. I know I am being silly, but I am going to miss you guys so much. Especially with the twins coming."

She placed her hands on her stomach and suddenly she felt something. She remembered it from when she was pregnant before. She felt the faint stirrings of the baby. She smiled as she said "Oh!"

Larry looked at her and asked "Is something wrong?"

"No, I just felt the twins moving. Here see if you can feel it." She placed his hand on her stomach.....

Larry felt a little stirring. He quickly took his hand off though. It made him feel uncomfortable and sad, thinking about the baby he and Kate lost.
"I would've had another son." Larry said as he stargazed. He got up. "Well, i'm gonna go up and spend time with Kate, we can talk more tomorrow if you want, night." Larry walked into the house, he left the light on and the door unlocked for Terri.

When he got upstairs, Kate was out of it. "Guess you were tired, babe." he kissed her lips and moved around the room getting ready for bed. He remembered to close the door so the dog wouldn't jump up and sleep on his back again. He got into bed and heard rustling on the floor. He looked over and saw Robin and the dog sleeping on the floor. "Sorry dog, but, you're outta here." he picked her up, opened the door and placed her out in the hallway. He closed the door and went back to bed.

Terri felt like a heel. She had been so excited about feeling the babies move for the first time that she totally forgot about Larry and Kate loosing their baby.

She muttered to herself after Larry left "There you go again Terri!! Great job!! Wonderful, perfect could you have been any more thoughtless!! God after what they had just went thru and I go and doing something totally stupid." Her eyes were closed so she didn't see Jamie approach and she kicked the water up into the air and soaked Jamie from head to toe!! She only realized she was there when she heard her surprised squeal.....

"Is my hair on fire?" Jamie asked with a laugh as she shook off like a dog. "I was wondering if you might want to come over and visit with us, so come on!" She grabbed Terri's hand and led her next door.

Jamie and Terri walked in the house. She saw her dad sitting on the couch, so she pulled out the surprise she had bought for him. It was a hat that said "#1 Dad" She walked up behind him and put it on his head. "Here you go, Dad-o!" She said with a smile. She kissed his cheek and sat next to him on the couch. She motioned for her mom and Terri to sit with them. She put her mom's legs on her lap. "How about a foot massage for the tired and pregnant mommy?" She said with a laugh. She took her mother's feet and started massaging them. "Don't worry Terri Lou, you're next." She said as she winked at Terri.

Kate was tossing and turning, she was having a bad dream that she was losing everyone and everything that she cared about. Larry woke up when he heard her calling out to him. "Kate!...honey, wake up!..you're having a bad dream!" She bolted up in bed and looked around. Sighing in relief when she realized where she was. "Larry, it was awful, I dreamt that I kept losing everyone I loved. You and the kids, The Trippers, Terri even Snowball..all gone...God kept taking you all away from me, one by one until there was nobody left."

Larry took her in his arms and held her close. "It was just a bad dream. Nobody's taking us away from you. I promise honey." After awhile Kate went back to sleep. Larry on the other hand couldn't sleep, so he went downstairs to raid the fridge. LJ made it home for curfew, with twenty minutes to spare.
"You're home before curfew? Are you feeling okay?" he put his hand up to LJ's head.

Terri had decided to spend the night at Jack and Janet's house. She was still embarassed about what happened between her and Larry. She knew it was nothing, but to her she knew it meant so much more. She loved Kate and Larry and hated seeing them go thru so much pain. Especially when her heart was filled with incredible joy.

She had started looking thru baby name books. She found a few names for girls that she absolutely loved. She wanted to have the names ready for when the girls arrived. She was laying in the guest room with her eyes wide open. That was insomnia thanks to the pregnancy. She seemed to want to sleep at the weirdest times. All of the sudden she heard Jamie screaming. She got up and ran to her room. She put her hand gently on her shoulder and said "Jamie honey, are you okay?"

Jamie was sweating and her eyes were wide open. "I'll be ok Ter, I just need to see mom and dad." She whispered weakly. She had to make sure that her parents were ok.

She ran to her parents room and listened at the door before going in. She heard her father's rhythmic snoring, so she knew that they were asleep. She quietly opened the door. "Mom, Dad?" She was still trembling from her dream.

Larry finished his snack and went back upstairs. He got into bed and draped his arm around Kate who was fast asleep. "What did you have to eat?" She asked him. "I don't know, some pizza." She put her head back down. "Oh..okay...Night hon" He leaned over and kissed her lips. "Night babe." He rested his head against her back, falling asleep.

"Mmm....wha???" Janet mumbled groggily as she heard a small voice from beside her. When her eyes finally adjusted, she realized it was Jamie standing there. She pulled the blanket tightly around her, covering up the bare skin that poked out of her nightie.

"What's wrong, Jamie?" she asked.

"I just had another horrible dream." Jamie whimpered. Her eyes were brimming with tears as she held tightly to the stuffed horse her father had given her a few years back.

"Really? Oh, come sit down, dear," Janet motioned, feeling worried that Jamie was going through an anxious time right now. Although she was 13 going on 14, it was still difficult for someone that young to grasp on to death, especially when it occurs to a fetus , an innocent. Jamie sat next to her and Janet stroked her hair.

"Honey, this is a really difficult thing to deal with," she whispered. "I understand you must be feeling really badly about it and you're worried I might lose my baby too, right?"

Jamie nodded. In this dream, she had lost everyone. It absolutely terrified her. She looked over to see her father, still sleeping. He looked as though he were having a bad dream too. He was tossing and turning.

Terri was worried about Jamie, but she was tired of the rotten day she was having. It seemed like everything she did turned out wrong. She knew it was late, but a walk would do wonders for her. So she grabbed her portable radio and grabbed her keys and walked out the door. Slamming it behind her. No note, nothing! She just went. She was sick of saying and doing the wrong thing. God, that song was perfect for the day that she had. She didn't remember how she got there, but she ended up at Richie's house. She knocked on the door. He answered the door in his boxer shorts. His hair was rumpled from sleep. Terri said "Hi there stranger. Want some company?"

She wakes up in the morning and has a smile on her face. She smiled as she remembered the night before. It was a perfect ending to a crappy day. Her friends were going to kill her when they realized that she was gone.... You know what, she didn't really care. She was an adult and she could do as she damn well pleased. She noticed that Richie was waking up. She smiled and said "Morning handsome!!"

He smiled and said "It wasn't a dream. I was afraid that when I woke up you would be gone."

"Nope, not until you woke up. I do need to get back soon though."

Richie leaned over and kissed her deeply. She smiled and said "Well, I can stay for a little while longer." Laughing and kissing the screen goes black.

It was morning, the sun rudely seeped through the sides of the shades, glaring down at the Dallas family who were all sleeping in one room. They had the same dream as the Trippers. Larry sat on the edge of the bed scanning the bedroom. Robin slept at the foot of the bed, LJ off in the corner by the closet, Kate on her side of the bed. I have a feeling that this is only the beginning. He grabbed his pajama bottoms from the bed and put them on, then throwing on his summer robe. He walked into the kitchen and started the coffee. Larry called the realtor, He couldn't move, he loved this house, the kids loved this house. After that phone call, he called Jack.
"Jack, this is Larry, I'm treating everyone to breakfast, get em dressed and get over here, bye." Larry was amazing after a couple cups of coffee.

He woke his own family up. "Come on Lazy people, get up and get dressed we're all going out to dinner, I'm paying." Okay, so he wasn't completely awake. "Larry honey, did you just say dinner? It's 7 in the morning." Kate argued groggily.

Jamie's parents had fallen asleep while talking to her, so she went downstairs. She decided to just stay up the rest of the night. When morning arrived, Jamie was zonked out. She had been up since 2 and no one was there to comfort her. She had gone to find Terri, but she was gone. She figured that Terri must have gone back to the Dallases. She poured herself some coffee and tried to push away the thought of her nightmare.

Terri walked home that morning feeling better than she had in a long time. She was whistling a happy tune and felt much better than she did last night. Yes, Richie was definitely what she needed last night. She unlocked the door and was surprised to see all of her friends frantic and she called out "Morning everyone!!" Suddenly it got very quiet and everyone turned to look at her. She looked around and realized that it was her that they were staring at.

"Um, lovely morning huh?" Still no one said anything. "Um, I am going to the guest room." Boy she was in trouble now, she thought with a grin.....

"I think i'll go see what's up, don't anybody leave without me." Kate went up to the guestroom, knocking on the door. "Terri?...everything okay?" She turned around and looked at Kate. "I should be asking you that, Kate."
"I'll be fine, but, I don't know if we're moving now." She sat on the bed.
"Where were you Terri?" Terri let out a big sigh "I spent the night with Richie." she smiled when she thought about him. Kate put her hands on her hips. "Well, it's about time."

A smile widened on her face as she pulled Terri in for a hug. "Wait, you mean...you're not mad?" "Why would I be, Terri, you're a grown woman, It would've been nice if you had called us though, so we wouldn't worry, but, you're here now, so come with us to breakfast."
The two women walked downstairs.

Jamie went upstairs to take a shower. She got dressed in her favorite Beatles t-shirt and jeans. She brushed her long, brown hair back into a ponytail. It was time to say hello to a new Jamie, a Jamie that was a responsible young woman, who was there for her family. She threw away her baby thoughts and took on a whole new image. After all, she was going to be 14 in a few days. With a confident attitude, she took one last look at herself in the mirror and said Goodbye to the Jamie of the past. It was tough, but she was ready.

As LJ finished Larry was just walking in. "Your getting pretty good son. Now if you would only play good music." LJ glared at him. "Just kidding about the music. Terri had fun at breakfast. The whole family kidded around and joked around with each other. Laughing at different jokes and the conversation was fun and filled with laughter too.

There was still and undercurrent of tension between the adults. Kate had said that she was glad that Terri had spent the night with Richie. Nothing had been said yet, but Terri was sure that Larry, Jack and Janet felt differently. Larry kept giving her stange looks. Jack was strangely quiet when she talked. Janet answered in short clipped sentances. She still felt guilty about what happened the night before with Larry. She had decided that the next time the babies moved she was going to keep it to herself. As for the names for the gilrs, she was keeping those to herself too.

Even though she was surrounded by friends, she felt so totally alone at the moment that she wanted to cry. She hated feeling like she was the fifth wheel, but she realized that she was. Janet had Jack, Kate had Larry. She technically had Richie, but he wasn't there right now. She decided that she was going to start putting some distance between herself and the rest of the family. After the trip, they would see less and less of her. It would be difficult, but she was a big girl and could take care of herself. She needed to pull herself up and think about the twins and their future. The people with her would always be family, she just had to put a little distance between. Yes, she decided that is what she definitely needed. She would still be there if they needed her, and she wasn't running away but she needed to get into her own house. It was time. She needed to be on her own again.

So she made the announcement that would shock everyone "Okay everyone, can I get your attention for a second. I just wanted to let eveyone know that I am moving into my new house. I close on it in about 2 weeks. I just wanted to let everyone know...." Her friends looked at her with shocked expressions on their faces....She got up and walked outside the restaurant. She sat on a bench out front and waited for them to follow after her.....

"Well, we have an announcement of our own." Larry spoke up. Everyone was silent. "Well the bad news is that the Dallases are moving too, We found a beach house in Malibu and we're moving at the end of the week, the good news is I saved a bunch of money on car insurance by switching to Geico. I have to call back the agent and let him know." Larry got up "I'll be right back" He walked out to the front and called about the house. The Trippers were shocked.

Terri got into her car and drove to the barn. She was glad that she had driven herself. It gave her time to think about everything that she needed to do yet. She was humming a happy little tune. The sun was shining and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.. She arrived at the barn in about 20 minutes. She saw Jamie pacing as she pulled up. She stopped and beeped the horn and waited for Jamie to get in.

Once she was in the car Terri asked "Okay kiddo, what's up? I thought you were going to call your parents when you were done? Not that I mind picking you up."

Terri smiled brightly at Jamie.

Jamie gulped. "Ok Ter, You have to solomnly swear that you will tell no one what I'm about to tell you, especially my parents." She was very serious. She wanted no one to know about this, even though it wasn't her fault.

"Do you swear?" She looked at Terri seriously.

Jamie had Terri scared to death. She had no idea what she was about to tell her. All she could see was the absolute fear in her eyes. She hated the idea of keeping anything from Jack and Janet, but she would if it meant helping her neice. She nodded and said "You can trust me sweetie! I promise that whatever you tell me will stay between us."

Jamie breathed a sigh of relief. "Thanks Ter. I knew I could count on you." She swallowed and took a deep breath before she began.

"I had just finished my chores, so I decided to call mom and dad to pick me up. Before I finished dialing, someone grabbed me from behind and pulled me into the bushes. I was hoping that he would take my cell phone and my wallet, then leave me alone, but that's not what he was after." She stopped and swallowed hard, a huge tear rolled down her check.

"Oh Aunt Terri! I was raped!" She was whimpering now as tears fell from her eyes.

Terri's whole world stopped when Jamie finished telling her what happened. She reached out and grabbed her neice and pulled her into a huge hug! She was going thru something that no one should have to deal with. Especially a 13 year old child. Terri looked her in the eyes and said "Honey, I know you wanted to keep this between us, but honey I really think you should tell someone. A doctor needs to check you out." Jamie started crying at the thought of her doctor knowing. Terri had an idea, it was crazy but it might just work. "Jamie do you trust me? I won't tell your parents, but I am taking you to see Richie, he is a doctor and he will keep our secret. Doctors take an oath of confidentiality. They have to keep certain things private. Trust me honey!! He will help us!!"

She waited for Jamie to say something. She knew that Richie would do anything for her. Even help her deceive her family and friends......

"Ok Terri, I trust you, but other than Richie, no one else can know about this, ok?" Jamie was still terrified over the whole experience. She hadn't been ready for a sexual relationship in her life, and sure as hell not a forced one. She felt so used and violated.

Terri smiled and hugged Jamie once again. She call Richie on his cell phone and briefly explained what was going on. She also told him about the need for extreme privacy.

"Richie, I am bringing my neice Jamie in to see you. I have to be honest with you. No one can know anything about this. There is no easy way to say this. She was raped this morning. She didn't want me to tell anyone, but I told her that she had to get checked out. I trust you to help her. Richie, this MUST be kept just between the three of us. Can I trust you?"

Richie thought for a moment. He felt just awful for Terri and her neice. What that little girl must be going thru right now. He thought about his own daughter and made his decision "Yes, Terri you can trust me! Bring her in. Call me when you get here and I will meet you and bring you in the back door."

Terri smiled and said "Thanks Richie!! Oh, and by the way I love you."

She hung up the phone and told Jamie "He's going to help us sweetheart!!"

Larry came back into the restaurant and sat down. "Sorry about that, it took longer than I thought." He leans back and sips his coffee. LJ and Robin are playing a game and Bobby is laughing at a joke Janet told him. Jack is teasing Kate about something and she's laughing. He would miss living so close to them, but, they needed distance and some privacy.

"The Love Butt" Kate was doubled over in laughter over that as if it was the first time Larry told her about it. "Love...exciting and new.." Kate started singing. "If you're smart, you'll stop." Jack warned her.

Terri could tell that Jamie was uncomfortable. She held her hand while Richie examined her. After he was done he said "Well, physically you seem to be doing fine. You are going to need help with the emotional part of it. Jamie, I know you don't want you parents to know, but I really think that you should tell them. They are here to help you. I won't say anything, but I think you should trust them. Just like you trust your Aunt Terri." He smiled and said "Just think about what I said."

After he was done he called Terri into the office to speak with her. "Terri, I know that you have promised her not to tell anyone, but this really isn't something you should keep from her parents. They seem like responsible people that will help her. I think you should consider telling them."

Terri smiled and said "Thanks for helping her Richie. I will keep that in mind. Will I see you again later?"

Richie smiled and said "Most definitely!!!"

With that Terri and Jamie headed home. Terri talked to Jamie on the way. "Sweetheart, I really think you should consider telling your mom and dad what happened. They would understand. I won't say anything, but please think about it sweetie!!"

They arrived home and saw that the others were already there. Terri smiled and said "Ready?"

Everybody was out by the pool. Kate and Larry were sitting together, LJ, Bobby, Robin and Kristen were playing Marco Polo on the side lawn. "Larry, honey...isn't Marco Polo something you play IN the pool?" He thought of an answer. "Yes, it is honey, but, anybody can play it in a pool, isn't it a little more unique to play it on the lawn?" Kate, Janet and Jack, just kind of stared at Larry, shaking their heads. "Well isn't it?....What...Guys stop looking at me that way, you're freaking me out, I'm gonna get started on those salads." It was just a little too early, but, he needed to get away from them.
He playfully stuck his tongue out at them as he ran inside.

Terri and Jamie had just walked inside when Larry came running inside. Terri smiled at him and said "Boy you sure are in a good mood today!!"

Larry laughed and said hi to her and Jamie as he went into the kitchen. Terri followed behind and asked "Anything I can help you with?"

Larry nodded and threw her a cucumber and said "Here cut that up. Where did you disappear to this morning? Everyone was looking for you after breakfast."

Terri smiled and said "Well, Jamie called and needed me to pick her up from the barn. She tried to call Jack and Janet, but there phones were dead. So she called me and like a good aunt I went."

Terri smiled and started working on the cucumbers....

Larry stopped what he was doing and turned to face her. "Okay, now tell me the truth." He could always tell when she was covering something up, when something was bothering her. "Something bad happened today, didn't it, Jamie, care to tell me?" She just kept her distance from him. She was still a little peeved about the way he treated her and was not ready to trust him yet. "Somebody tell me...anything." Jamie went into the fridge and took out limes.

"I'll make my famous Lime Ade." She needed to keep busy, not to think about what happened.

Terri was between a rock and a hard place. On one hand he wanted to come clean with Larry, but it wasn't her place to tell. So she did her best to make up a cover story that sounded bad, but still believable.

"Okay Larry, your right. Something bad did almost happen." At Jamie's look of horror Terri gave her a look and continued. "Well, you see I went for a drive and as I was driving Jamie called me. When I got there I couldn't find her. So I went looking and didn't see a hole in the ground. Well, I fell and hurt my bottom and I think I twisted my ankle a bit."

She bit her bottom lip and prayed that he believed her. She hated lying, but what choice did she really have? She looked at Jamie and smiled...

He could always tell when she was lying, but, he didn't pursue it. Terri would tell him if it were really important. "You fell in a hole...C'mon Terri, don't give me that." He put his hands on her arms. "If you don't want to tell me, you don't have to, but, please...don't lie to me."


He went back to slicing tomatoes. Terri and Jamie looked each other and breathed a sigh of relief as they walked towards the door. "That was close"
Jamie whispered. "Okay, freeze you two." Jamie knew she shouldn't have been thinking that out loud. "Damn." Now what were they going to do, Terri thought.

Terri was ready to scream. Boy was she going to have to do some more fast thinking to try and keep her and Jamie out of trouble. "Okay Larry do you want the truth. Fine I will tell you, but not in front of Jamie. I don't want her to hear all the lurid details." She grabbed his arms and led him into the den. She was going to be a damn good actress by the time this was over. She sat Larry down and looked at him. Taking a deep breath she started talking. "Fine, you want to know what happened? You really want to know what happened? Fine, I will tell you what happened. If you hate me afterwards, I will understand. Okay, here is the long detailed story. I got to the barn and was standing by the bushes looking for Jamie. I felt myself being pulled into the bushes. At first I thought it was Jamie playing a trick on me. Then I realized that it was not trick. It was a man, I didn't get a good look at his face. He said some very foul and mean things to me. He slapped me and then proceded to rape me!! There, I told you. Do you feel better now that you know the truth?" The tears were rolling down her face now. God she deserved an award for this....

Larry was speechless, he just sat there. He couldn't even move. "Larry...say something...you're scaring me." He took her by the arm and grabbed the car keys. "We're running to the store, be right back!" he hollered. "Larry, where are you taking me?" Larry sat her down in the passenger seat and closed the door. "I'm taking you to the hospital and don't argue with me!" She needed to say something before they got there. "Larry, I've already been there, the babies are okay." He found a place to turn around and headed for the beach.

When he got there, he parked the car. "Terri honey...I'm so sorry, I know that doesn't change anything, but...." She stopped him.

Kate, Jack, and Janet stopped joking around and hurried out when they heard the front door slamming. Larry and Terri were gone, but Jamie was still preparing a drink in the kitchen, staring ahead in to space as she mixed the liquid.

"Jamie, where did your aunt and uncle go?" Janet demanded, feeling worried.

"I heard store and then they left." Kate said as she took a platter of cheese out of the fridge. "Ahh...the power of cheese." Janet laughed, Jack rolled his eyes. "Larry's rubbing off on you, I think." Kate blushed. "That's kind of personal isn't? Besides, he's not even here." Jamie stopped what she was doing and shuddered. "I think you grossed her out, Kate." She finished preparing the drink and put it in the fridge. "Thanks mom." Jamie called out from the couch. She fell asleep.

Terri looked at Larry. Her heart was breaking inside. "Larry it doesn't change anything. No one can make everything all right again."

She had to make him believe what she was saying. She opened the car door and ran to the beach. Once there she walked to the waves and let herself fall to the sand. She let the tears fall freely down her face. She cried for herself, she cried for Jamie and she cried because she had to put on this act for Larry. She covered her face with her hands and wept openly.....

Larry didn't know what to do. He ran his fingers through his hair and kicked the sand in anger. "WHY THE HELL ARE YOU DOING THIS TO US!" he yelled up at the sky. "WHAT DID WE DO TO DESERVE ALL THIS CRAP THAT'S BEEN HAPPENING TO MY FAMILY!" he fell to his knees and cried like a baby.
Richie was walking along the beach when he heard the scream. He decided to see if he could help so he ran up to the two people.

Terri saw Richie approaching and tried to compose herself enough so that she could talk to him without totally blowing the cover for Jamie. She walked over to him and smiled weakly. "Hi there. I must look like a mess."

Richie smiled and looked at her tear stained face and the sand all over her clothes and said "Nah!! You look beautiful! What's going on? Are you okay? Is Larry all right?"

Terri smiled and said "Yes, we are fine." Then she whispered "Play along, with me. It has to do with Jamie."

Richie smiled and walked over to Larry "Is everything okay here? You seem very upset?"

Larry didn't speak for fear of saying the wrong thing.... So Richie tried again "How about those Lakers?" He stared at Larry for a minute waiting for a reply....

Jamie was terrified. She hated to see her Aunt taking her place in the matter, but she was just too afraid to tell anyone yet. She sat down on the couch to be alone. A few minutes later, her parents joined her on the couch. Her mother could tell that something was up with her, and Jamie new it. She gulped as her mother's eyes searched her own.

"Jamie, what's going on? I have a feeling you know more than you're letting on," Janet pried. She was trying to be gentle but the worry never escaped her voice. Jack was nearby, sipping on some soda thoughtfully.

Jamie's face was tight. She bit her lip as she tried to think of what to do. "Something happened today, but I'm really not ready to talk about it." She bit out. She was scared to death, and she knew that her parents weren't going to accept that as an answer. She prayed that God would help her with what to do next.

"Did something happen to your Aunt Terri?" Jack asked, refusing to drop the subject. If there was something wrong with any member of his family, he wanted to know.

Janet held up her hand to silence Jack. "Jack, she'll talk when she's ready...we shouldn't pry anymore."

Jamie sighed. She knew she needed to tell them what happened. She was afraid of the lengths her Aunt would go to to protect her. "Mom, Dad, Can you come upstairs to the guest bedroom with me?" She whispered. She figured that would be the best thing.

"Sure thing," Janet said, still confused about what was going on. She was definately curious about what was going on, especially since Jamie looked so upset. Together the trio escaped to the guest bedroom where they could talk in private.

They waited patiently for Jamie to begin speaking.

Jamie took a deep breath. She'd never had to do anything so hard in her life, and it scared the hell out of her.

"I was at the barn and I had just finished my chores. I pulled out my cell phone to call you guys to come get me....."

Jamie stopped as tears fell from her eyes. She gulped hard, trying to go on.

"Jamie, what happened?" Jack asked, his voice rising with worry. He looked over at his wife and together they probed Jamie with their eyes.


"Honey, you can tell us anything, remember?" Janet said softly.

Jamie swallowed hard.

"Before I could finish dialing, a pair of hands grabbed me and pulled me into the bushes. I figured that he would just take my cell phone and wallet, then leave me alone, but that's not what he wanted. He....He....." She was sobbing now. "He raped me!"

"What?!!!" Jack hollered, causing Janet to jump. She was too stunned to speak; she merely quivered, feeling like she would throw up.

"Oh my god, Jack," Janet whispered. "Oh my god, we have to get her to a hospital."

"Holy f*cking sh*it," was all Jack could utter. "I'm going to kill him. I'm going to kill him." Janet had never seen her husband so filled with rage before. Suddenly Jack stormed out of the room and locked himself in the bathroom across the hall. She could hear him sobbing loudly.

Janet grabbed Jamie in to her arms, holding her tightly. "No, this isn't your fault, Jamie," she soothed her. "This is never your fault."

Jamie was crying hard now. "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!" She whimpered. "I wanted to be a virgin until I was married, but I guess I blew it." She sobbed harder. She wanted her father to come back to protect her.

The girls turned and saw Jack standing there, his face scrunched up as he wept. "If anything, I screwed up! I should've been there to pick you up from the barn."

"Jack, this isn't your fault," Janet reassured him, tears welling in her eyes. She ran her fingers through her raven colored hair. "Oh, god, we need to call the police....we need to get this reported...we need to..."

"No, we need to get a shotgun and go find this motherf*cker," Jack snapped angrily. "I can't believe this."


"Jamie, do you remember what the guy looked like?" Janet asked gently.

"His face was covered." She whimpered. She had never seen her father so upset and it scared her. Her little frame trembled on the bed as he paced around the room in rage.

Kate and the kids could hear Jack screaming upstairs. "Mom what's going on?" Robin asked. "I don't know honey, but, I better call your father."
Kate grabbed the cordless phone and called Larry's cell.

Terri turned to Larry and said "I want to go home now. Please?"

Larry merely nodded and walked back to the car. They drove in silence for awhile until Terri said softly "I'm sorry.."

Larry wondered what on earth she could have to be sorry about. She closed herself off into her own little world. If he ever knew that she was lying to protect Jamie, he would hate her forever. Jack and Janet would surely hate her for not telling them. God, she didn't know if she could take that. At the thought of that she started crying harder. She was crying with great gulping sobs.

She sat in the car thinking about everything and nothing. Then she noticed that they pulled up to Jack and Janet's house. She was confused and said "What are we doing here?" She got out of the car and tried to run in the other direction....

"Great...just great...that bastard thought of everything, didn't he?" Jack muttered darkly. He stood at the window and looked out. He never felt so angry as he did right now; the feeling of murderous rage was overwhelming.

'I should calm down right now but I can't...' Usually it was he who was easy going- not Janet. He admired Janet for keeping it together, for being so solid during this time. He sure couldn't do the same.

"God, I think I'm gonna be sick," Jack mumbled.

His cell phone rang. "Hello?...oh hey Kate, I can't really talk right now, I gotta run after Terri." He caught up to her and held her in his arms. "C'mon let's go for a walk, I have a feeling you're not telling me everything hon." They walked down a wooded path. She clung to him tightly.

"Would you please talk to me. I know there's something else that's going
on...You can tell me things Terri. I may get mad, but, then i'll calm down
and we talk about it." She took a deep breath.

Terri was crying real tears now. She needed to start at the beginning.

"Well, here's the thing. I felt terrible last night. I was so excited about the babies moving... That's not what you meant was it?"

Larry smiled and shook is head. Terri continued "I knew that. Well, after I stormed out of the restaurant this morning Jamie called me. I was surprised that she didn't call Jack or Janet. Well, when I got there she swore me to secrecy. Made me promise that I would tell another living soul. Larry, if I could talk back the past few hours I would."

The tears started again she continued. "Um, well she told me that she had been raped. She didn't want to tell anyone, I talked her into going to see Richie. Since he is a doctor, he would be able to help us. I talked to her and told her that she needed to tell her mom and dad. She wasn't ready to tell anyone yet so, I made up that story. Now, Jack and Janet are going to hate me. I am so sorry Larry.... You know what. Go back to your family and leave me here. I will manage to move into my new place with help from Richie. I just seem to mess everything up...."

She turned away from him. Not wanting to see what his face looked like. She continued to cry......

Tears flowed down Jack's cheek as Jamie reached out for him. Just looking at shifted his mind from trying to get revenge. She looked so broken up, just like a little child that was lost and couldn't find her way. He knew that she would never be the same again.

"He's not going to hurt you again. I promise you that. I do." Jack whispered softly as he wrapped his arms around Jamie. Things were going to be different now since they all knew that Jamie was sexually abused. Janet started to sob as she watched Jack silently rock Jamie as he whispered soothing words to her. Soon enough, Janet joined in the hug.

Jamie clung to her father tightly. "I'm so scared!" She whimpered. She was utterly terrified. She didn't know if she could ever live a normal life again. She never wanted to leave the house.

Larry didn't know what to do at this point. This was all too much for him, the stress was really getting to him and he was still upset about the baby, now his sweet niece had been raped and he was furious with Terri for lying to him. He ran into the woods and threw up behind a tree. "Larry...are you okay?" Terri was worried about him, his color didn't look good. "I'll be fine, just stay away from me right now Terri, i'm really furious with you for lying to me!"

Terri started to walk away. "How could you do that! You were gonna keep it from Janet and Jack!? They are her parents Terri!" He grabbed her by the arm. "We're going back and you're gonna tell them, if Jamie hasn't told them by now...God, what were you thinking keeping something like that a secret!"
He wasn't at a loss for words now.

Terri didn't know what to say. So, she threw his arm off of her and told him the worst words she could ever say "Don't touch me Larry Dallas. I never want to see you again. I will tell them and then I am out of all of your lives forever!! I screwed up, I admit that!! I was never planning to keep it a secret do you understand me!! I know what she is going thru. God, do I know what she is going thru. I was barely older than she is when an older man took advantage of me. Oh, it wasn't rape, but it could have been. I was 14 and he was 33. So you see, I have been where she is. So, Larry, unless you walk in my shoes don't you dare judge me!!" Then she said something she never thought she would say to Larry "I never want to see any of you again!!" She was shaking with fear, regret, rage and hate. She hated the whole world right now and didn't want to see anyone right now. She hated that people could do something so terrible to her neice. With that she ran into the woods and hid from the world. Hoping that they would never find her. She cried herself to sleep on top of a pile of leaves.....

"Oh no you don't, you're not getting away with that." He said out loud. He ran into the woods to look for her. He found her sleeping in a pile of leaves.
He hated to leave her alone, but, he had to find Richie. He took out his cell phone and called directory assistance. "Yeah, Dr. Richard Gray, Santa Monica...okay thanks" The operator rang the number for him and one of the kids answered. "Hi...Amanda...this is Mr. Dallas...is your father home?....thanks hon....Richie, this is Larry...It's Terri, we just had a huge fight and she ran off."

Larry gave Richie directions, most of what Terri said and hung up. "Terri, wake up, c'mon. I'm sorry I went off on you like that, I didn't know. It just really p*ssed me off that you lied to me." Terri sat up and slapped Larry in the face. "Get away from me Larry!" He sat down next to her and wouldn't budge. "You're not gonna push me away Terri, you can scream your head off at me and I'll still be here." He turned to face her. "If you can honestly look me in the eye and tell me that you hate my guts and you never want to see any of us again...Then I'll leave." He searched her eyes for an answer.

Terri didn't say anything she merely got up and walked to the house. Once she got there she slammed the door for all it was worth. Then she went to her room and got her suitcase. She then put all of the clothes she had with her inside it. She walked out of the room and flung the suitcase into the car and then realized that the keys were still inside. She got out of the car and slammed the door again. She saw Larry standing at the edge of the driveway. She had never hated anyone more than she did at that moment. He had made her reveal her most private secret to him. Something she hadn't even told Zack. She was really glad the keys were in the house, because at that moment she wasn't sure she could control all the rage she felt inside of her. She had screwed up big time and needed to get away to think..... Even if it was only for a few days.... No one would care where she was after they found out that she had tried to keep a secret from them. Larry hated her and he had always said that nothing she said or did would make him that mad. :( :(

She went back inside to get the keys. Unfortunately that gave him the opportunity to get inside the car.....

He sat right in the passanger seat where she could see him when she came out of the house. "Larry Dallas get out of my car!" He rolled down the window and stared at her. "I'm still waiting for an answer!" She started hitting and cursing at him, but he wouldn't budge. "Alright, fine. I'm looking you right in the eyes....Larry Dallas! I never ever want to see you or your family again, I hate everyone so just leave me the hell alone! There are you satisfied now!" He was hurt, but, he knew she could never mean those things. "Do you feel better now that you got all that out of your system huh? Did it make you feel good to hurt your entire family." "You hate us, well right now toots, I'm not too thrilled with you either..I'll leave you alone in your misery!"

He started walking back to his house when he met up with Richie. "She's over there!" Larry pointed to Terri who was in tears.

Larry stormed through the front door and up the stairs. "Larry, what the hell took you so long?" He was not in the mood to be yelled at anymore. "Honey, I love you, but, don't start with me, okay. I'm not in the mood." She walked away "Sorry for yelling at you like that, i'm glad your home." she kissed his cheek and walked downstairs.

Jamie's life had turned upside down in a matter of minutes. She had been the victim of a violent act and now her whole family seemed to be paying for it, especially her Aunt Terri.

"I should have never asked her to lie for me." Jamie thought. She could kick herself for asking her Aunt to do something like that for her.

Her parents were still holding her when everything just got too overwhelming. She ran across the hall to the bathroom and emptied the contents of her stomach. She was literaly miserable. She layed down on the floor as her parents came in to check on her. She looked up at them with pain in her eyes.

"I feel so cheap, and so used!" She screamed. "Just leave me here and let me die alone. I can't live like this!" She was crying uncontrolably as she put her head down on the floor. No guy would want her now, she was dirty and defiled.

She was also in a lot of pain. The man who had attacked her had forced himself on her so hard that she had bled. Richie had told her she would be alright, but she may want to go to the hospital if it got any worse. She looked up at her parents, but just couldn't speak. She hoped that they would realize that she needed help, and fast.

Jack kneeled down behind Jamie and grabbed a hold of her shoulders. He spinned her around so she could face him. She looked so pale and hurt. He couldn't let her think she was low or she had no use of living. "Don't you dare say that Jamie. Don't you ever say that, ok?" He looked right into her tear stained eyes.

There was some way he could make her feel better about the whole thing. Make her feel like she was safe. "Honey, we're going to take you to the hospital to get checked, ok?" She nodded slightly and he hugged her tightly again. Janet stood there in the bathroom doorway with her head against the side of the doorway, crying.

Jamie tried to make it downstairs to the car, but on the first step, her legs wouldn't hold her and she collapsed to the floor. She felt totally helpless as she lie there at her father's feet. When he reached for her, she had a flash back from what had happened and she shielded her face. "Please don't hurt me!" She begged. She was trapped in her mind and she couldn't escape.

Terri saw Richie and then she totally lost it. She started crying hysterically. She had just hurt the very person that always believed in her. No matter what Larry had always been there for her. She knew that she had hurt him. He had hurt her too. There had been so much hurt already. She knew that he would never forgive her for the hateful things she said to him. Richie tried to talk to her. All she did was cry. For Jamie, Jack, Janet, Larry and Kate. Everything in her life had gone horribly wrong. She sat on the driveway and stared into the blackness of night. Richie sat next to her. She laid her head on his shoulder.

She spoke one word to him "Why?"

She fell asleep with her head still resting on Richie's shoulder. He carried her into the house. Grabbed her suitcase and kissed her goodnight. He left a note for her. It read:

Terri awoke the next morning and realized that she was in the Dallas household. She moaned and realized that she had to face the day and Larry. She knew that he hated her. So it would make leaving so much easier. She smiled and got ready for the day. She smiled as read the note from Richie. HE was the eternal optimist. She really loved that man..... She needed to try and talk to Larry. She had to apologise to him for las night.... If only he would listen to her. She needed to make things right again. She walked out into the kitchen and he was cooking breakfast. She smiled, took a deep breath and said "I'm so sorry Larry. Need any help?"

She waited for him to say something, anything.....

Larry turned around, walked over to Terri and hugged tightly. "I'm sorry for everything Terri." "I thought you hated me." Larry released from the embrace and cupped her chin in his hand. "I could never hate you Terri, I don't know how many times I have to tell you that before you believe me, Just because I get angry, even furious, with you, doesn't mean that I hate you and I'm getting tired of hearing it...I don't hate you Terri Tripper, get that through your head." He kissed her forehead. "You could start the french toast if you want."

Terri went over to the island and started heating up the griddle. Larry really had a temper, but, he always got over it. "Please Terri, no more secrets okay, there is nothing you can't tell us...okay?" He went back to scrambling the eggs. Kate came downstairs. "Morning my little hen." she whispered to Larry as she kissed his cheek. He kind of gave her a weird look. "Would you like to do the bacon?" Kate put her hands on her hips. "Remember the last time I did that, The fire department paid us a visit?" He took the tray from her. "Why don't you sit down then and I'll get you some coffee."

He had said no more secrets. This wasn't actually a secret, but she needed to tell them. The closing date on her new house was moved up to today. The new owners wanted to leave sooner than originally planned. So as she was making the french toast she made her announcement "Larry, Kate I just wanted to let you know that I am going to be moving into my new house today. It seems the owners want to leave sooner than the realtor thought. I just wanted to let you know."

She went back to making breakfast and started thinking about all the things she needed to do. She had to call the movers to get her stuff out of storage. She had to arrange for the utilites to be turned on. Then once all of her old stuff was in she was having the baby furniture delivered. She was going to have lots of fun putting that together. She smiled lazily as she remembered the time long ago that she and Zack put John's crib together.

***Flashback***
"Zack, I don't think that screw goes in there. It looks to small for the hole."

"It'll fit." As he said that it fell out and onto the floor. He smiled and said "Okay so maybe it wasn't the right one."

She laughed and handed him another one. "Here try this one. I bet that will work!"

He laughed and put the screw in. Sure enough it fit. He smiled at her and said "What would I ever do without you?"

"You'll never have to find out! Your stuck with me for life."

They kiss as the flashback ends.

Terri smiled at the bittersweet memory. She was brought back to reality by the smell of smoke......

The smoke alarms are going off. "Terri..i think you're burning the french toast." Larry moved her aside and tended to the burnt toast. "Sorry Larry, I was just thinking about Zack. He put his hand on her back and smiled "That's okay hon, We'll just give LJ that piece, he likes his dark." The kids came downstairs, followed by Snowball, scampering behind them. "Mom, what's that smell?" Robin asked turning up her nose. "French Toast, dad's trying out a new recipe." Kate handed LJ a plate with black toast. "Why's mine all black." he looked at it making a face. "It's cajun...boy, where's your sense of adventure?" Larry found it hard keeping a straight face. "Okay, everybody eat up, we've got alot of work to ahead of us today if we're gonna help Aunt Terri and Richie." LJ's cajun toast was replaced by normal french toast.

Terri laughed as she ate her breakfast. God, how she loved her family. She needed to talk to Jack and Janet, but they were busy with Jamie. How was she ever going to explain this to them?

After breakfast Terri met with the realtor to sign the papers for the house. Then she was handed the keys and the realtor said "Congratulations! The house is now all yours."

She smiled as she drove back home to Larry and Kate's house. She had spent a busy morning making phone calls. She had managed to have all the utilities turned on. She was meeting the movers at the house soon so that she could let them in. She had a busy couple of days planned. The biggest part would be putting stuff away. She figured that would take her the better part of the week. Then she was having the baby furniture delivered tomorrow. Yes, she was going to be very busy for the next few days. It would take her mind off the memories of the past few days and would give her a chance to get her senses back together. She had just arrived at the house when the movers showed up. She opened the house to let them in. She walked thru the house to tell them where to put certain boxes.

She sat by the pool as the movers worked. She dipped her feet in and thought about the babies. What would they be like? Would they look like her? Like Zack? Or a combination of both? She was scouring baby books looking for names. She closed her eyes and let the sun beat down on her. It felt good, and for the first time in a long she felt completely relaxed. The movers left and she was alone in the house. She had just started unpacking the first box when there was a knock on the door. There on the other side stood a sight for sore eyes. Richie had his kids. He also brought along a picnic basket filled with food. She smiled and let him inside.

"Hi guys!! Come on in!! What are you doing here? Excuse the mess the movers just left."

Richie smiled and said "We are here to help you unpack! Aren't we guys?!"

The kids smiled and said "Yep"

They had no sooner started unpacking and the doorbell rang Terri smiled and said "Boy, so many visitors already!" She opened the door and Larry, Kate, Robin and LJ were standing there. Terri smiled and said "Let me guess, your here to help me?"

They nodded and walked inside and started helping her unpack. She was actually having alot of fun. It felt good to have a home of her own again.

They managed to get most of the unpacking done. Everyone sat at the picnic table and had dinner. Larry and Richie took turns with the grilling, they even let LJ have a turn, Robin, Kate, Terri and Amanda sat around chatting.
about the move to Malibu tomorrow. The Dallases hated to leave right after dinner, but, they needed to finish packing up the last of their stuff.

"So listen Richie, I hope you and the kids will come around more often because we'd love to have you. You're very nice people." Kate hugged
Richie and the kids. Terri was thrilled, that Richie was so quickly accepted
by Kate and Larry. "See ya round Rich. Call me about that Lakers game next week." Larry reminded him.

After they left and the kids were off someplace watching TV, Terri and Richie had some time alone.

Terri and Richie sat around talking. Her house almost looked like a home. There were still a few things left to unpack, but she could do that later. Richie and Terri were sitting in the kitchen talking over a cup of coffee.

"So, have you had a chance to talk to Jack and Janet yet? I really think it would be good for you to get it out in the open."

Terri knew that, but she was nervous. If they got as mad as Larry did. she shuddered when she thought about it. "I am afraid to talk to them. What if they hate me for it?"

"Honey, you did what you thought was right at the time. Plus, I know that you would have told them given the chance. How long have you been friends with them?"

"About 20 years or so. But, still I know if it was Anna that this happened too I would be upset if someone didn't tell me right away."

"Honey, if you demanded that she tell you what happened then she would have stopped talking and probably not told a living soul. Then she would be in worse shape emotionally than she is already. Talk to them, they will understand."

Terri wished that she believed him more. She knew he was right and so she made her decision. She was going to call Jack and Janet and tell them she needed to talk to them.

"Well, the day went pretty well. Now tomorrow the fun starts. The baby furniture is being delivered. Wanna stay and help me put it together? Free food if you do!"

Richie laughed and said "I thought you would never ask." He bends down to kiss her softly.

After they are done talking she gets up and goes over to the phone. She picks it up and calls Janet and Jack. They don't pick up so she left a message. "Janet, it's Terri. Call me we really need to talk. It's very important. Bye."

So now, all she could do is wait and see if her friends would forgive her for not telling them sooner. She frowned as she sat back down next to Richie and fell asleep.

The Dallases have gone to bed early after packing the last box and taking the beds apart. The Dallases are sleeping on Aerobeds in their rooms.
The kids are asleep. Larry and Kate lay in bed talking. "I can't wait to move into the new house, as much as I love Terri, Jack and Janet, we really need some distance." Kate confessed to him. "I feel bad thinking that way Larry, but, It's just how I feel right now." resting her head on his shoulder. He kissed her lips softly and then her forehead, caressing her cheek. "Don't feel bad, Puss. I've been feeling like that since the intervention and I'm sure the kids do too."

They talked for awhile and drifted off to sleep listening to the radio. Morning broke and they were up early. They came back from Denny's and started loading up cars with boxes, electronics and clothes. Snowball was placed in her carrier after the house was emptied. They stopped off at Terri's and Jack and Janet's to say goodbye. Larry rang the doorbell waiting for somebody to answer.

Janet was just about to call Terri again when the doorbell rang. To her surprise, Larry and Kate were standing there.

"Hey, guys, come in," Janet offered.

"Hi Janet, we can't stay long, we just wanted to stop by before we go to our new house." The Dallases hugged Janet and Bobby. Janet was crying.
"Oh c'mon, it's not like we'll never see each other anymore, we'll see each other at work and the boys will still hangout." Kate reminded Janet. "Besides,
if you don't stop crying, I'll start and then Robin will start and then Larry."
LJ rolled his eyes.

The Dallases hugged Janet and Bobby some more and were on their way to the new house. It was beautiful, traditional, but with a contemporary feel.

Terri woke up the next morning feeling more refreshed than she had in a long time. Richie was sleeping beside her and she smiled thinking about the night before. They made dinner and went swimming. Then they popped a DVD in the DVD player and watched a movie. Finally at about 1 a.m. they dragged themselves into bed. Terri had made up the pull out couch in the den for the kids and then Richie and she went to bed.

She awoke at 8 a.m. streching she got up to make breakfast for everyone. She was cooking when Richie came up behind her to greet her.

"Morning beautiful!! Sleep well?"

Terri smiled and said "Never better. How about you?"

"Like a baby."

"Are the kids up yet?"

"Yeah, they are getting dressed. Fighting already too."

Terri smiled and put the bacon, omlets and toast on the table. The kids bounded down the stairs and she sat down and started eating with them. It seemed like all she did lately was eat. Which was obvious by how much weight she had gained already.

She thought about the task ahead and what she had to do today. The baby furniture would arrive around noon or so. That wasn't what she was worried about. It was the talking to Jack and Janet that she feared the most. She was afraid of what they would say and do. So, she took the coward's way out and waited for them to call her....

Richie grabbed her hand and asked "Nervous?"

She smiled and responded "Absolutely terrified!"

He simply kissed her hand and smiled. This got a bunch of "Yucks!!" from the kids. Terri and Richie simply laughed at them....

The Dallases were getting settled in their new home. Robin and LJ were at friends houses. It was just Kate and Larry. "Wanna go out to dinner?" he asked her. Neither one of them wanted to cook. "Sure, wanna invite Terri, Richie, Jack and Janet?" she asked him. He made a face when she mentioned Jack and Janet. "What's wrong Larry?" She could see the sadness in his eyes.
"I would love Jack and Janet to join us, but, they won't be able to because of Jamie." He really missed them. "Does it hurt to try? The worse they could say is no." He thought about it. "No I guess not, they could probably use a night out."

He got on the phone and called them. Jack sounded so sad when he picked up the phone. "Hey Jack, it's Larry, Do you and Janet want to meet us at Lucien's for dinner?" He waited for Jack to say something.

Kate used her cell phone and called Terri. "Hey, Larry and I are going out to dinner, you wanna meet us at Lucien's, Larry's inviting Jack and Janet too."

Terri smiled when Kate called to invite her to dinner. She already missed them and they hadn't even been gone a day. She was going to be putting lots of miles on her car. At least until the babies came. God, that scared to death. How was she going to deal with this by herself? She shook her head and said brightly to Kate "Sure we'd love to come!! What time should we meet you?"

"How about 6:00. Does that give you enough time to get ready?"

Terri mumbled to Richie "Is 6 okay?" He nodded and smiled. "Sure Kate! 6 works for us!! See you then!!"

Terri's stomach was full of butterflies and it wasn't the twins kicking either. She was nervous about seeing Jack and Janet. Who knew what would happen?

[Moonlight Lady]

"Oh c'mon Jack....You're not gonna be able to watch her 24/7. You and Janet need some time to unwind." He looked over at Kate and rolled his eyes. "Terri and Richie are going too...Okay....No, it's fine...Uh huh...Sure..yeah...bye." Larry hung up the phone. "Damn." Kate went back to her conversation with Terri. "Well, it looks like it's just the four of us. Jack and Janet aren't going. Oh, that's a good idea...okay see you then, bye."
Kate hung up and walked over to Larry. "Terri and Richie are picking us up so we can all go in one car." He liked this idea, more time to socialize.

Terri was excited about dinner tonight. Richie took Seth home and returned dressed and ready to go out. Terri felt refreshed and ready for a relaxing evening out. They had a busy day today. They had gotten all of the baby furniture put together. Now they just needed to decorate the room and they would be all set. She had called Kate and gotten directions to their new house. It felt so good to finally go out and have fun.

They arrived at Kate and Larry's house at about 5:15. They sat around in their living room and talked for a few minutes. Then it was time to go to the restaurant. Richie drove and Larry and Kate sat in the back seat. Everything was perfect. They talked about everything and nothing. It was very relaxing.

They arrived at the restaurant with plenty of time to spare. Terri and Kate were laughing over a joke that Larry told. They were seated and the conversation turned to what had been happening in the past few days.

"So Larry, have to talked to Jack and Janet today? I called them but I guess they have their hands busy taking care of Jamie. I am really worried about her. I just wish that...."

Terri stopped, she wasn't able to say the words that she knew she had to say. If she couldn't say them Larry and Kate, how in the world was she going to tell Jack and Janet how sorry she was. She wanted to explain why she did what she did....

[Moonlight Lady]

"Terri, let's not talk about this tonight okay? Please, we're here to enjoy ourselves." Larry reminded them. They all sighed and ate in silence until Richie broke it. He couldn't take the tension anymore. He loved Terri and
really liked Kate and Larry. He justed wanted them to be happy as did Terri.

Richie smiled and looked deep into Terri's eyes. He broke away long enough to smile at Kate and Larry. He told them in a serious voice "I just want to let everyone at this table know that I intend to marry this woman. Someday, if she will have me. I know we have just met, but I feel a connection with her that I haven't felt in a long time. I love you Terri."

Terri smiled and said "I love you too Richie."

They kissed and Richie asked "Do they have dancing at the restaurant? I feel like kicking back and having fun for a change." He reached over and squeezed Terri's hand and smiled....

After making sure Jamie was tucked in bed safely, Jack and Janet decided to go to Lucien's to surprise their friends, leaving Bobby to mind his sister and gave him specific instructions to call their cell phone if anything occured.

When they arrived, they saw their friends seated at a cozy table overlooking the ocean. Thankfully they had only ordered their wine.

"Hey, guys!" Janet greeted them with a smile on her face. She watched their mouths drop open with pleasant surprise.

Terri jumped up and hugged Jack and Janet. Chairs were pulled up and an extra wine glass was brought to the table. Terri smiled at her friends and they chatted pleasantly. Terri looked at Janet and smiled and said "Guess what Richie told us tonight?"

Janet smiled and said "What?"

"Well, he told us that he wants to marry me someday." She smiled and got a dreamy far away look in her eyes. "Of course it might not be for awhile. Especially with me getting bigger and bigger everyday."

Terri smiled and the conversation flowed easily and the laughter filled the place. Life was good and the friends seated at the table toasted to friendship, life and love....

"Oh my god, that's wonderful!" Janet said happily. "Let's toast to a new future," she added, clinking her glass with Terri's. Everyone was chatting about their new lives, excited about moving in to their new homes. Although Janet and Jack had no plans of moving, she was thrilled she could be excited about her new little one. She was only about a month pregnant, but she could already picture herself as a new Mommy...she wondered if it would be a boy or a girl...

Or what if we have twins like Terri, she thought excitedly. She knew the chance was slim, but the idea of it made her smile. She was just so excited to be here with the people she loved so dearly.

Terri smiled and said "Well, Richie and I got all of the baby furniture put together today. Now we just have to paint the room and figure out what kind of pattern we want."

Richie smiled as he said "Terri, I'm not sure that you should be doing any painting. I mean is it safe?"

Terri smiled and kissed him and said "Isn't he sweet. Well, Richie darling if I don't do it, it isn't going to get done at all. I mean you have to work and can't spend all your time with me...."

Terri smiled and looked at her friends. This is truly what life is all about. She was so excited about the babies coming. Even though Janet was only about a month along she absolutely glowed.

Terri asked "So Janet, I know it's early, but have you given any thought to baby names?"

Janet grinned at her friend. She could tell Terri was so content right now and she had every right to be-- things were finally falling in to place for her. Between the twins coming, the new house, and a wonderful man and friends in her life, she had so much to smile about!

"Well, Jack and I haven't discussed it officially yet but I am rather fond of Madison Grace Tripper for a girl or Riley Jacob Tripper for a boy. But Jack does have a say too," she added, winking at her husband.

Terri smiled and said "I can't decide on names for the girls. I like so many and I am not sure if I want names that are alike or something different. It's hard enough coming up with one name. Since I am due close to Christmas. I have thought about naming on girl Mary and the other one Christmas."

Terr started laughing hysterically at her joke. Seriously though, naming the girls was going to be tougher than she thought.

"Seriously though I have been looking over baby name books. I can't seem to come up with 2 names that fit. This is going to be tougher than I thought."

Terri suddenly remembered about Kate and Larry. She thought to herself "God how stupid of me! Talking about baby names when..." She suddenly excused herself from the table and ran to the bathroom. Leaving her friends in shocked silence.

Janet and Kate followed her into the bathroom. She didn't answer them. She was too ashamed....

[Moonlight Lady]

"You know, you guys can talk about baby stuff around Larry and I. We're okay. I'll admit it was hard at first, but, each day we're getting better, okay honies." Kate smiled as she gave them a hug. "Okay now let's get back to the guys, lord knows what Larry's trying to talk Richie and Jack into."

They hurry back to the table. "Are you okay Terri?" Kate patted his hand.
"Everything has been straightened out, now, my question is what have you men been up to, you all look like cats that ate canarys." She looked at each one of them.

Robin and LJ met up and the movies and decided to invite Bobby over for Pizza and video games. Robin called him. "Hey Bobby, we're having pizza and playing video games...No, you don't...she'll be fine, you have a burglar alarm don't you...Oh...okay then." Bobby didn't want to chance being grounded any longer than he thought he'd be, once his parents found out.

Richie smiled at Jack and Larry. He definitely looked like he was up to something. He gave away nothing though. He simply said "Us? Up to? Nothing, nope not a thing.."

Terri looked at him and said with a laugh "Then why are the three of you guys having a hard time keeping a straight face?"

Larry, Richie and Jack all had faces that tried to look angelic, but just came across as looking very silly. Kind of like when a kid is caught with their hand in a cookie jar, but then trying to say they were just getting a cookie for you. Terri tried another tactic "Well, if they don't want to tell us what they are planning, we can always go shopping again. I know the delightful new shopping mall that just opened up. They have lots of new expensive stores to shop in."

Kate smiled and said "Hey that sounds like fun."

Janet nodded and said "Yeah, I need some more things too."

They started laughing as the guys all started speaking at once....

Kate stared at Larry with a smile on her face and her hand out. He put his hand in hers. "Your credit card Larry, hand it over." He laughed at her. "Yeah, MY credit card, that you're not getting." She sighed "Oh well, it was worth a try." The waitress appeared at their table and they ordered appetizers and dinner.

"So have you heard from John and Anna?" Larry asked. Everyone's eyes were
on Terri now. It had been ages since they've seen the kids.

At the mention of John and Anna Terri brightened. She smiled and said "Well, John graduated and is going to MIT in the fall. Anna is going to be a senior. Boy it seems that the time really flew. It seems like just yesterday that they were little babies. Now my babies are all grown up."

Terri smiled and sat back to enjoy the night.....

"MIT, Whoa! It seems like he was just learning to walk." Larry was amazed. They really did grow up fast. Robin was going to be a sophomore this year and LJ was 17 going on 30. He laughed when he thought about his son.

They had finished dinner and were all stuffed. "Hey, why don't we go someplace for coffee and dessert, I know this place that has a dance floor.
they play slow jazz or you could all come back to our place and we'll give you the grand tour." Larry suggested.

They all agreed to go back to Kate and Larry's house. The wanted to see where their friends were living. Terri was talking with Kate in the back seat. That gave Larry and Richie a chance to get better acquainted. Terri took the opportunity to talk to Kate about the babies.

"Kate, I want to ask you for a big favor. Um, well..."

"Okay Terri, spit it out."

Terri smiled and said "Well, I was just wondering. Um, if it isn't going to be too hard on you, would you mind possibly coming to stay with me for a few days after the babies arrive?"

Kate looked pensive. Terri smiled and said "If you need to take time to think about it, I understand."

They arrived at the house and Terri walked inside with Richie. They followed Kate and Larry inside.

"Well, I'll have to talk it over with Larry. He would really be the better person to ask because he took care of the kids, while I worked, Would you mind both of us staying with you? four hands are better than two and the kids
are old enough to stay home alone." Kate thought it would be wonderful and she knew that LJ and Robin would love having the house to themselves for a few days." Larry's ears perked up. "Whoa whoa whoa...what's this about?"

Larry started the tour upstairs, beginning with the huge master suite.

Terri smiled and said "Well, I was just telling Kate that I am going to need some help once the babies are born and asked if she would mind coming to help. She said that I should ask you." Terri took in the room. "Whoa, is this a master bedroom or a small apartment?"

Their house was lovely. Terri could see why they wanted to move here. It was so close to the beach that Terri fell in love. She said "Okay, I am thinking that we need to get a beach house here. Just imagine the fun we could have on the beach?"

Richie smiled and said "Yeah, I would never be able to keep you inside. You would live outside on the beach if we lived here."

She smiled and nodded. That was definitely true.

She looked at Jack and Janet and asked "So Janet, what do you think of the house?"

Janet was still in awe of the beautiful, spacious house. She turned to her friend and smiled warmly.

"Kate, I think this would be a wonderful place for you and the kids to grow up," she said honestly. "You really lucked out on such a gorgeous place!"

"We love it here, this is one of my favorite parts of the house." Kate lead them into the master bathroom, which was almost as big as the bedroom.
"That tub is a jaccuzzi tub, you can fit two people in that comfortably." she said as she winked at Janet and Terri. They stepped out onto the terrace.
the moon was really bright that night. Full and beautiful, shining down on the ocean as the waves beat against the shore.

The finished looking upstairs and walked down the winding staircase. Bobby left and Robin and LJ were playing basketball down the street. Larry showed them the huge kitchen, dark wood and loads of counter space, top of the line appliances. Jack fell in love with it. "This kitchen was one of the things Larry loves about the house too." Kate informed Jack.

Last but not least, the huge livingroom, cedar finish walls, Stone fireplace, big screen TV. Sectional sofas, Kate already had a spot for the Christmas tree picked out and it still a few months away. "You and your Christmas Trees." Janet teased her. Kate shrugged and laughed. They were going to have cake and coffee, but, it was getting late.

Terri decided that she absolutely loved Kate and Larry's new house. They were having so much fun that she didn't realized how late it was until she felt herself yawn. She tried to cover her mouth with her hand but Richie noticed it.

"Honey, I think we should be going now."

Terri started yawning again as she said "I'm fine Richie. I'm just a little sleepy."

Richie smiled "And your just a little stubborn too."

Terri smiled and they said their goodbyes. Terri hugged Kate and Janet and promised to call them soon. She yawned once more and Richie guided her out the door.

She smiled as they pulled awy from the house. She said to Richie "They definitely seem happy, and their house is gorgeous. I just wish it wasn't so far away. I loved being able to walk over to their house and chat. Oh well, at least they live near the beach."

Richie smiled as he said "You and the beach. I swear in you last life you must have been a fish!"

Terri simply smiled as she drifted off to sleep on the way home....

The next day was a Saturday. She was having a party to break in the new house. She had invited people from the neighborhood. Some she knew, some she hoped to get to know... Of course Jack, Janet, Kate and Larry were all there. It was a party to celebrate summertime, life. love and friendship. They had a blast with lots to eat and drink....

Kate and Larry had a wonderful time and Larry did not get drunk this time. He watched his P's and minded his Q's. Jamie seemed to be
doing alot better. She made some friends in the neighborhood and they were at the party.

Jack kept throwing Kate in the pool any chance he could get. That's a big brother for you. She laughed at how waterlogged she was by the time they were about to leave. "I see you finally dried out?" Robin laughed. "You just watch it Missy, we have a pool too you know." They had such a nice ride home.

Terri laughed as she watched her friends having fun in the pool. Especially Kate and Jack. She was busy running back and forth in and out of the house. Suddenly their was a lot of commotion out front. Robin, LJ and Bobby were especially excited about something. Terri finally popped her head out and saw what the excitement was all about. There in living color stood Anna and John. Terri was rendered momentairly speechless. When she finally regained her senses she asked "How? Where? Oh, come here you two!"

John moved forward and smiled "Jeez mom! I've never seen you at a loss for words!"

"Yeah mom!"

Terri said "How did you guys get here?"

John said "Well, we flew. It would have taken us forever to walk here!"

He definitely had his father's sense of humor. Anna said "Yeah, Richie sent us the plane tickets about a week ago. He said it would be nice to come for a visit for a few days. With John going to MIT and me starting high school soon. Well, we wanted to come see you for a few days."

Terri turned around and saw him smiling at her she mouthed "Thank you" and smiled. She was with the people that she loved most. She had her children, of only for a few days. She was a happy woman thanks to Richie!! How she loved that man. Her love for him only grew as time went on. He had grown to become an important figure in her life. He had said that he wanted to marry her. That would be a dream come true. He had seen her at her worst and he still loved her. She knew that their love was true. She still thought of Zack, but the pain was replaced with sweet memories. She could look at his pictures now. She smiled as she relaxed on the lawn chair. She had her eyes closed and was sunning herself when Jack walked over to her and sat down.

She smiled at him and asked "So, are you having fun today?"

Kate and Larry were visiting with John and Anna. "So, how are your grandparents doing?" Kate asked. She hadn't seen the Alden's in years. They were always very nice to her, Larry and the kids. Larry walked behind Kate and started massaging her shoulders. "Jeez, your shoulders are in knots, honey." Kate had been tense lately. Work had been a nightmare lately, both she and Janet were stressed out. They never snapped at each other though.
It was the magic of their relationship, both workwise and personal. They both loved the challenge though.

"I'm gonna start on the salad, who wants to help." Kate looked for volunteers.
LJ volunteered and so did Anna.

Anna smiled and chatted with her Aunt Kate and LJ. She talked about her grandparents "Grandpa and Grandma are doing great!! They are excited about LJ starting college. I am starting my senior year, so it is going to be a very busy year for me. I miss mom though." She looked outside at the pool and saw her chatting with her Uncle Jack.

Then she said "I am kinda glad that she found someone like Richie. I mean I still miss my dad, but he is very nice.."

Anna looked lost in thought. So Kate said "Are you excited about the new babies?"

Anna nodded and said "Yes!! At first it was kind of weird. I mean, I am almost grown and here I am finally a big sister. Not only once, but twice!!"

Kate laughed at Anna's reaction. She hoped that Anna and John would be able to visit often. Kate knew that Terri missed them terribly. Anna finished helping with the salad and asked "Is there anything else that you need help with Aunt Kate?"

Janet was so excited to see John and Anna finally reunited with their mother. She could also tell that Terri was positively glowing. It meant a lot for her to be with her kids, especially now that Zack was no longer with us and she needed their support now more than ever. Things seemed to be looking up, although their lives were going to be changing drastically.

Janet really missed her children. She couldn't wait to bring another one in to the world. She put a hand on her tummy and smiled. Soon enough, my darling....

"No, I think we're just about done here, sweetie, let's go swimming." Kate smiled as she put her arm around Anna. She was proud of all the kids.
Larry walked by his wife, grabbing a kiss as he passed by. "I'm gonna ice the cake sweetheart." He closed the door behind him.

Richie and Seth walked in the front door. "We're back" Seth hollered.
Larry looked up from the cake he was frosting. "What movie did you get?"
Richie took it out of the bag. "Airport, Twister, and The Day after Tomorrow"
Larry wiped his hands on the apron and took the movies from Richie, looking at them. "Ah..these look great, man." he handed them to Seth who put them in the livingroom. "Larry, that cake looks delicious, did you make that?" Richie was quite impressed. "Yeah, Jack showed me how to do this, you wanna try? It's easy." Richie took the spatula and Larry guided him through icing the cake. Even Seth tried it. Everyone soon gathered around and watched the men ice the cake. They need not have bothered to rent movies.
this was much more entertaining.

After dessert and one of the movies, it was time for the Dallases to head home. "Bye Terri, let us know when you want us to come over and help setting up for the wedding" Kate reminded her. They said their goodbyes
and hugs were exchanged.

Terri had a phone call to make. She had to call Larry,Kate, Jack and Janet. The past 3 months had went by so fast. It was November and Terri wanted to go shopping for wedding decorations. Of course since she was almost 7 and a half months pregnant it was fun getting around. The doctor had told her to take it easy and to be careful. Easy for her to say, she wasn't getting married in a month. She called Larry and Kate first.

Kate picked up on the second ring "Hello?"

"Hi Kate!! It's Terri!!"

"Terri!! How are you feeling?"

""Ugh, I feel like a beached whale!! I am sooo huge I have to roll out of bed in the morning. I wish this whole thing was over with now!!"

Kate laughed and said "It will be soon!!"

"Yeah, that's what my doctor tells me too. I just have a hard time believing her right now. Well, the reason I called is that I wanted to go shopping for wedding decorations and wanted to ask if you wanted to come along with me? I need to call Janet next and ask her too."

Terri smiled as she thought of Janet. She was getting more beautiful as her pregnancy went along. She hoped her friends wanted to go shopping with her.

"Terri, when have you ever known me to pass up a shopping trip?" Kate finished joking with Terri and got off the phone. "Larry? I need the credit card!" Kate called out. "Come into the kitchen!" he hollered back.
Kate got up and walked into the kitchen. "See these things, they're expiration dates, It would help if all of you read them more often." Larry lectured his wife and kids. "Why dad, you do such a wonderful job of doing it for us." Robin sassed him back. "Alright Miss Sassmouth, you can finish this then. LJ chimed in. "You just got yourself a volunteer, i'm going to take a nap." Larry tossed a brown head of lettuce into the garbage and walked out of the kitchen. Kate followed him. "You call me into the kitchen and then walk out, credit card Larry, I need the credit card." She hounded him.

"Oh my god...alright, damn it!" He storms upstairs, grabs the card and
thrusts it at her. "Here, oh and P.S. you won't be able to do much with it, I've arranged it so that they have to call me everytime you want to buy something and I have to approve it, so Haha!!" He stretched out on the couch and fell asleep, mumbling about being driven crazy. "Be back later kids." Kate got into her convertible and drove to Terri's place.

The next call Terri made was to Janet. She knew that her friend love shopping just as much as Kate did.

She called her and Janet picked up on the first ring.

"Hello?"

Terri laughed as she said "Boy, were you sitting right by the phone?"

Janet laughed as she recognized that it was Terri calling "Hey Terri!! What's up?"

"Well, Kate is coming over to go shopping for wedding decorations with me. I wanted to call you and ask if you are up to a trip today! It would be a big help to me if you could come. As much as I adore shopping I am really not into it today...UGH!! I feel like a beached whale!!"

Janet laughed and said "Well, you are having twins Terri!!"

Terri laughed and said "So, are you up to a shopping trip today? There is so much to do between now and next month!!"

Terri waited for her friend to respond....

"Of course I'll go!" she exclaimed happily. Janet was spending the day in the house alone-- Jack had returned back to work and the kids were busy with their friends for the day.

"I'll be ready in a jiffy," she said before hanging up. She took a quick shower and dressed in a rather unflattering maternity dress.

'Ugh, no one ever said this would be pretty,' she thought as she distainfully surveyed her round figure in the mirror. Despite her ever growing belly, her face glowed with happiness.

Suddenly she heard a car horn from outside and peeked out the window to see Kate's convertible idling in the driveway. She quickly scribbed a note for Jack and the kids and made her way outside.

"Hey, ladies," she greeted them warmly.

"Should I have brought the minivan?" Kate was in rare form today. Terri and Janet shot her dirty looks. "Okay, I know, just shut up and drive." Kate put the car in drive and they were off to "A Rose is A Rose" Kate and Janet's botanical center. "Okay Terri, What flowers are you looking for, If we don't have them, nobody else will." Kate, Terri and Janet hopped into a golf cart and rode through the aisles. They saw some nice arches that they could decorate. They put those on the list and then rode around some more.

Terri laughed as they looked around Janet and Kate's shop. Everything here was so pretty. Too bad Terri had a brown thumb. Everything she touched died.

Terri was having so much fun shopping with her friends. She asked Janet and Kate "I have no idea what kind of flowers I want. To me all flowers are alike. What do you guys recommend?"

Janet and Kate looked at each other and said "Pink roses, definitely!!"

Terri laughed and said "Well, I guess it is pink roses then!!"

They were exhausted when they finished shopping. They had found everything that Terri was looking for. They were sitting in Terri's kitchen drinking tea and talking about the upcoming wedding.

Terri said "Well, I have always wanted to get married in December!! I can't believe it is so close. My mom and dad are flying in, along with Anna and John!! I should be nervous, but I'm not. I wanted to ask you and Janet something."

Kate and Janet both said "What?"

"Well, I know this isn't a traditional wedding so, I wanted to ask you if you could both be my matron's of honor. You are my two best friends and well, I want to share my special day with you both!!"

Kate was so touched, she cried. "I would love to Terri." She would have to go shopping for a dress. Which meant another shopping trip. "Which means Larry will be getting another call from the shop, I don't know where he gets the idea that I shop too much." She just shook her head and drank her tea.
Janet went into Terri's desk and took out a pen and paper and sketched out
how the backyard would look as they came up with all sorts of ideas.

Janet was so touched by Terri's request. "Well, of course I would! Ooo, this is going to be so exciting!" The prospect of being a matron of honor was thrilling for her--she hadn't participated in a wedding for so long! She began to sketch out a blueprint for Terri's wedding, chatting excitedly as she did so.

"I think a December wedding is an excellent idea! It'll be so different, yet so beautiful! Jack and I were married in October and let me tell you-- that in itself was so lovely! Our pictures came out so nicely! I bet your wedding will be ten times more beautiful."

Janet couldn't wait...what an excellent way to end her fun day!

A wedding around Christmas would be really beautiful. She and Larry got married in April, their spring wedding was wonderful too.

"Well, it looks like we've got our work cut out for us." Kate commented as she got up from the table, grabbing her organizer and pocketbook. "Well, I better get back home, Larry and LJ are probably starting dinner. Janet wasn't that far from Terri and she decided to stay for awhile and chat. "You two call if you need anything okay?" She said as she walked out the door.

Time flew and it was the night before the wedding. They were all at the rehearsal dinner at Terri's house.

Terri was a nervous wreck. Her parents, John and Anna had flown in that morning. Her stomach had a million butterflies in it. She was huge now!! The babies were taking up more and more room and she was getting less and less sleep. They were having the rehersal dinner at Jack's Bistro. She looked around and smiled. So many important events had happened here. It seemed like this place grew around them. Anytime someone had something important to tell each other they did it here.

Terri smiled after the dinner and they went back to her house. John and Anna were staying with Jack. Kate and Janet were spending the night at Terri's house. Terri's parents were sleeping in the guest room. They stayed up late talking. When Terri realized it was almost midnight she said "I had better get to bed!! I have to be up early in the morning!!"

The sky was clear and blue the following morning. Terri smiled as she got ready. Janet and Kate were beautiful in their dresses.

Terri laughed as she got ready and said "I look like I am wearing a tent!!"

Janet and Kate looked at her and smiled. They new that their friend was nervous. They tried to reassure her as they talked to her.....

"Now, Terri, everything will work out perfectly," soothed Janet. "And you look amazing! You're positively glowing!" Janet's eyes sparkled with tears as she surveyed her friend, who looked so beautiful-as radiant as a princess- in her flowing gown. She could hardly believe yet another of her closest friends were getting married!

It seems like just yesterday I was bawling at Kate's wedding! she realized. How time flew...god, it seemed like just yesterday that the three of them-Jack, Janet, and Terri- were living in their cramped apartment in Santa Monica, struggling to get by under the watchful eye of Mr. Furley, their landlord. Not too soon after, they had all met Kate through Larry...and the rest, as they say, is history.

We've been through so much...and have come so far, she thought. With a contented smile, she entwined her small fingers through Terri's shaking, clammy hand.

"Let's get you married," she whispered encouragingly.

Terri took a deep breath as she looked at her two best friends. She could hardly believe that this day was here. Everything had turned out better than she had expected. She was surrounded by her friends, her family was all here and she was marrying the man she loved.

What she hadn't told anyone was that she had been having small labor pains all day. She recognized them from when she had been pregnant before. She had actually been having them for the past few days. She thought they were nothing to worry about.

She walked down the aisle with her dad. She had tears in her eyes as she pledged her life to Richie. They exchanged vows and kissed. Everyone clapped and they went off to the reception.

Terri and Richie were announced and then they had their first dance. It was to "Fireflies" by Faith Hill

Jack and Janet were dancing to a slow song as they moved next to Larry and Terri.

"Doesn't this remind you of our wedding?" she whispered lovingly in his ear. He cupped her chin and kissed her on the lips.

"It feels like the day we fell in love all over again," he said softly. She smiled and nestled her head on his shoulder, inhaling the scent of his cologne.

Terri and Larry danced next to them.

Kate was next to dance with Larry. After some twenty years of marriage, she still got chills whenever he held her close. The magic never wore off.
"Remember our wedding sweetie?" he asked her as he slowly rubbed her back.
"We were so nervous, I thought I was going to pass out." He leaned in for a soft tender kiss and she felt warm all over. "Look at them Larry, they make such a sweet couple, I bet Zack would really like Richie." she commented to Larry. "Are you kidding, I bet Zack probably arranged the whole thing." They smiled as they thought about him.

There was some commotion on the dance floor. Kate and Larry tried to get close enough to see what was going on.

They had eaten dinner and were dancing again when the first big pain hit Terri. She doubled over and said to Richie "Um, honey, I think it's time?"

Richie looked confused at first and said "Time? Time for what? The cake?"

Terri moaned and said "Ugh, no!! The babies. WE need to get to the hospital now!!"

Richie said "They are coming here? Now?"

"Yes!! I have been having pains all day and well, I thought they were just false labor, but I just had a big one and well I think we better get going!"

Terri and Richie were talking when Kate, Larry, Jack and Janet noticed. They all walked over to them. They were all talking at once "What's wrong? Is everything okay? Are you all right Terr?"

Terri said "I am fine, I just think the babies want to join the party!!"

Jack and Larry said at the same time "Here? Now?"

Ugh men!! "Yes now!! Not necessairly here though! I do need to get to the hospital though."

Janet volunteered their mini-van. They all rushed over to get in. After making sure Terri was comfortable the took off. Jack was driving and Richie was next to Terri. She was breathing and suddenly had a strong urge to push. She said to Richie "Um, honey, I don't think we are going to make it to the hospital. These babies want to come now!!"

All four friends said in unison "Here? Now?"

Terri finally screamed "Yes!! Here and now!! Why is that so damn hard to believe?!!"

"Um, Jack, I think you better pull over to the side of the road. I need to lay her down and check her out."

Jack did as Richie said and her checked her. He was surprised to find that Terri was close to delivering the twins. He could feel on of the babies heads. He told Terri "Well, it looks as though we are going to be celebrating birthdays on our anniversary. Okay, honey. When I tell you, I need you to give me a big push!!"

"Okay, push Terri!!"

She pushed and held it for a ten count. That went on for about 5 minutes and Terri's first daughter entered the world. Richie called Janet over to hold the little girl. Her second daughter was fast coming. A minute later her second daughter arrived. They were small but had a good set of lungs on them.

Janet and Kate smiled and said "Congratulations!!" Larry looked an unhealthly shade of green!! Jack was merely dazed and staring into space.

On the way to the hospital Janet and Kate asked Terri about names for the girls. Terri smiled. She had the perfect names for the twins. Pointing to the one that Janet was holding she said "That is Evie Renee." Pointing to the other little girl "That is Zoe Marie. Both of the first names mean "life" Zack gave them life before his ended."

She smiled and nodded off to sleep as her friends chatted....

Janet gasped at how utterly precious Terri's newborn twins were. They both howled their heads off, kicking their tiny legs ferociously. She thought Evie and Zoe were perfect names for those darling girls.


"Oh, Jack, aren't they beautiful?" she whispered, tears falling down her cheeks. Jack nodded and smiled as he continued to drive to the hospital.

"Yea, just like our little munchkins," he said fondly, thinking about the days his children were brought in to the world. Sixteen years ago, his dark-haired son Robert "Bobby" Tripper had arrived, kicking his little legs so hard that Jack knew right away he'd be athletic. Several years later, his little princess Jamie Lynn Tripper welcomed the new world, resembling him so much that he had to cry. He remembered how floored he was to be looking at a little miniature version of himself...well, except for with different parts!

I hope our new one brings us this much joy, he thought happily. He pulled up to the hospital and they quickly registered Terri.

After regaining his natural color, Larry held Zoe Marie in his arms. He remembered when Lawrence Richard, Jr. was born. He was quieter than his sister when he entered the world. He let out a couple of squeaks and fell asleep in Larry's arms. Robin Lea made it known to the whole hospital that she was born. "Remember how loud Robin was when she was born?" Kate asked Larry as she held Evie.

When they got to the hospital, Kate and Larry handed the babies to the nurse. Jack, Janet, Kate and Larry left once Terri got settled. They needed to get back to Terri's and let everyone know the good news.

Everyone was waiting at Terri's house. They were waiting for news on Terri and the babies. John and Anna had the most questions. They pounced on Larry, Kate Jack and Janet as soon as they walked in the door.

John said "How's mom?"

Anna piped up "Yeah, how are mom and the babies?"

Terri's parents were standing close by and they were waiting to here from the others. They were worried about her and the babies....

"Is Terri okay? How are my our new grandbabies?"

"Terri and the babies are doing great. They're 7lbs 10 oz" Larry said as he put his arm around his niece and nephew. "Yeah, we actually didn't make it to the hospital in time, so Richie delivered the girls in the minivan." He continued. "Eww...I bet dad passed out." Robin was being very smug.
"Young lady, I did not pass out...I turned green instead" Larry grabbed his keys and started heading out the door. "I'll be right back hon, I'm gonna take the kids home." Kate kissed Larry and hugged the kids.

Jack and Janet filled John, Anna and Terri's parents in on the rest of the details. Kate started cleaning up the inside. She and Larry would start on the outside in the morning.

Terri woke up the following morning. She smiled as she looked at the twins. They were sleeping in a bassinet next to her bed. Richie was sleeping on a chair in the corner. He looked so handsome. He was still in his tuxedo. He hadn't wanted to go home and change. Terri thought about the challenges that lay before her. She was ready for anything. She was looking out the window when Richie woke up. He walked over to the bed and said "Hey honey! How are you feeling?"

Terri smiled and said "Like I was run over by a truck, but it is a good feeling."

Richie smiled and walked over to look at the twins. They had Terri's blonde hair. He imagined that they looked a little bit like Zack. Time would tell. Then he heard commotion outside the room and looked up to see Terri's family and friends coming into the room. They were carrying flowers, balloons and teddy bears. They had big smiles on their faces and were talking a mile a minute.

"They are so cute!"

"Mom, they look like me when I was a baby!"

"Can I hold them?"

"They are precious!!"

Terri laughed and caught Richie's eye. She smiled as she looked at her friends and family. She was truly blessed!! Terri laid her head back on the pillow and watched her family and friends making a fuss over the girls. Life was truly good for Terri at that moment in time. The past few months had been worth it to bring these wonderful little angels into the world. She caught Kate's eye and smiled at her and Larry. She did the same with Jack and Janet. She knew that this was what life was all about. Family and friends.

Kate and Larry took Richie back to the house so he could change out of the tuxedo. He walked out of the bedroom dressed in jeans and a t-shirt and walked downstairs. Kate and Larry were making lunch. Kate walked up to Richie and hugged him. "Thanks, what's that for though?" Kate released from the hug and smiled at him. "Welcome to the family Richie, you're one of us now."

He smiled and hugged her back, even Larry hugged him. "Why do I feel like I just joined The Sopranos" they all laughed. "You don't want to go down that road my friend." Larry joked. They were eating lunch and chatting when the phone rang. It was Jack and he sounded frantic. Janet had gone into labor.

Terri had thanked Larry and Kate for taking Richie home to change. Jack and Janet had stayed along with the rest of the family. Although Janet had a funny look on her face. It was a half smile. She pulled her close so that she could talk to her.

"Hey Janet, is everything okay? You don't look so good."

Janet tried to laugh it off. She didn't want to worry her friend. "I'm fine Ter. I've just been having back pains."

Terri knew what that was a sign of. Terri looked her in the eyes and said "Janet, you could be in labor!"

Jack was watching the two of them and walked over to talk to Janet and Terri. He looked Janet in the eye and asked "Hey honey! What are you two whispering about?"

Terri kept quiet and let her friends talk.

"Oh my god," she murmured. She felt sick, like she was going to pass out from being so overwhelmed. She plopped down on the chair and tried to breathe deeply but another contraction hit, forcing her to pant.

"Terri, I think you may be right," she groaned. She looked up at Jack, who was turning a sickly shade of pale.

"Jack...need a doctor...now," she said between clenched teeth.


"Ok, I'll go find one and then call Larry." he said anxiously. He rushed off quickly.

Jack registered Janet in to the hospital and retrieved Dr. Green, who was their longtime family physician. He told him to calm down and that Janet would be called in immediately. He then quickly went to use the pay phone. "Buddy," he panted as soon as Larry picked up, "Janet's going in to labor...could you possibly grab some comfortable clothes and toiletries for her? We're still down at Wilshire Memorial!"

"Oh my god Jack!...she's gonna have the baby.." Larry repeated this a couple more times "Okay, calm down Jacko, you're getting hysterical..Janet needs you....We'll be right down." Larry hung up the phone. Kate ran over to Jack and Janet's to get Janet some clothes. She threw a bunch of things into a bag and was heading out the door when she saw Robin holding a suitcase.
"Mom, calm down...I have everything she needs right here."

Larry came careening into the hallway and ran into Kate knocking them both down sending clothes flying into the air. "Mom, Dad, when you two are finished playing around, we should really get to the hospital." Larry helped his wife up. Richie drove everyone back to the hospital. When they got there. Robin handed her uncle the suitcase and walked into Terri's room with Richie. Kate and Larry went to get some coffee.

Boy, what a week this was turning out to be. Weddings and births!! This was a wonderful week. Robin and Richie were talking in the corner and cooing over the babies.

Terri was watching them and smiling when John came to talk to her. Something had been on his mind for awhile now and he wanted to talk to his mom about it.

"Hi mom! How are you feeling?"

"Pretty good. Do you want to hold you sisters?"

"Um, no mom. That's okay."

"Okay John, what's up? You have been very quiet all day. I know when you are hiding something. You are just like me."

"Well, mom. I am just worried. I mean it wasn't that long ago that dad died and now you are marrying Richie. I just want to make sure that you are happy."

Terri smiled. Her son had always been protective of her. Even when he was a small boy he always wanted to make sure she was happy.

She looked him in the eyes and said "John, your dad was a wonderful husband and a great father. No one could ever take his place, but I do love Richie very much. He makes me very happy and if you give him a chance I know that he would like to get to know you. That is kind of hard to do though, since you are going to school on the other side of the country."

"Yeah, but look what happens when I come home? You have the babies and now Aunt Janet is having hers. I am afraid what will happen next. The next thing you know someone else is going to have a baby."

Terri laughed and said "Well, it had better not be me! I am through having babies. Pretty soon you will be getting married and having kids of you own."

At Terri's last statement John blushed. Terri smiled and said "Hey is there something your not telling me?"

"Well..."

Terri smiled and asked "Have you found someone special?"

"Yeah, at least I think so. We have dated a few times and well, we are taking it slow and easy. There could be something there though."

Terri smiled and said "Just as long as you don't make me a Grandma too soon!"

With that she smiled and talked to Robin and Richie. Larry and Kate came back into the room with their coffee and Terri said "Oh, that smells sooooo good right now! Has anyone heard anything about Janet?"

"Nah, we got here oh...not even five minutes ago." Kate said before taking a sip of her caramel coffee." Larry handed out the coffees and then sat down next to Kate on the couch, taking her hand on his. She rested her head on his one of his broad shoulders, he leaned in and kissed her forehead.

Terri was getting tired so the kids went down the coffee shop down in the lobby. Larry and Kate went off somewhere, Richie stayed with Terri for a few minutes and then went to look in on some of his patients so Mr. and Mrs. Alden could spend time with their daughter.

Terri smiled at her mom and dad. She said "Well, this certainly has been an eventful few days. We've had weddings and now births. First the twins and now it looks like Jack and Janet's new baby is going to make an appearance sometime soon."

Terri's mom smiled at her and said "Well, we just wanted to let you know that we are very proud of you."

Her dad replied "Yes, and Richie seems like a very nice man!! I am proud to have him for a son-in-law."

Terri started crying with joy as she said "Thanks mom and dad. You don't know how much that means to me."

Terri smiled at them and they chatted for a few more minutes and then Terri laid back on the pillow. The twins started fussing and Terri's mom picked up Zoe and handed her to Terri. She also picked up Evie. She rocked her while Terri fed Zoe. When she was done she handed her to her mom and took Evie and fed her. When she was done she sat back. So many things had happened to bring her to this point.

Zack passing away. Her coming back to Santa Monica. Terri finding out that she was pregnant. Running back to Connecticut. Larry chasing after her. Packing up her old home. Meeting Richie. Spending the night with him. The wedding and then the birth of her children. Now they were waiting to hear news about Janet and her new little one.

Richie had been gone for awhile and came back with Jack in tow. She couldn't read the expression on either of their faces though. Her mom and dad had went to the gift shop to buy some things. So Terri, Richie and Jack were alone in the quiet. So finally Terri blurted out "So, how is she doing?"

"She's definately having a spitfire," Jack commented, all the color drained from his face. He sipped on a cup of coffee and looked up with tired eyes. "She's in between contractions as we speak...she's not dilated enough, so I guess I'll be going back to her room in a few minutes."

They chatted for a few moments, trying to reassure Jack that the worst would be over soon. Although he looked worn out, the others could tell he was happy for their new baby to be making its entrance in to the world. Keeping with tradition, the Trippers had decided not to find out the sex of the baby until its delivery. Jack was incredibly excited- would it be a boy or a girl? He gulped...or would it be twins?! :eek: ....either way, Jack would be proud. The idea of spoiling another little girl or bonding with a son made him smile.

Suddenly a fierce scream erupted from the room down the hall. "Oh my goddddddd.....JACK, GET YOUR ASS BACK IN HERE!!!"

Terri smiled at him from her bed. "You better do what she says, champ! Never doubt the strength of a woman giving birth."

Without a second thought, Jack placed his coffee cup on a nearby table rushed out of the room, his friends' reassurances echoeing behind him. He entered Janet's room at the far end of the hall and saw his wife writhing in pain, her teeth clenched so tightly he thought she would break a tooth.

Dr. Green was inspecting under the covers. "She's finally dilated, Mr. Tripper...we should be seeing your new baby within the hour!" he said cheerily.

Jack gulped and smiled at his wife. "Did you hear that, baby? We'll finally be seeing our new-"

"Yes, I heard it!" she howled. "Oh, god, when will this end?" she whimpered.

Jack caressed her hand and coaxed her through her next contraction. Each passing minute grew worse for Janet-- each contraction was outdone by its previous one. However, Jack remained gentle and reassuring as Janet threw obscenities his way-- she had done the same with their previous childrens' births.

"Mrs. Tripper, just a few more pushes," Dr. Green said. "I am beginning to see a head poking out!"

Janet collasped weakly against her pillow after another agonizing thrust. "Count to ten, baby...count to ten," Jack whispered, giving her hand a light squeeze.

"1....2...god, I am gonna kill you, Jack!!!!! 4....5....ooohhhh.....6....7...*pant pant* 9!! 10!!!!!"

Suddenly a piercing scream erupted as the baby finally made its entrance in to the world. Dr. Green grinned at the Trippers as he held up a shivering, bloodied baby.

"Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Tripper...it's a boy!" he announced. He handed the baby boy over to the assistant nurses, who rushed to get their new little boy cleaned and wrapped in a blue blanket.

"Oh my god...I have another son," Jack whispered....he couldn't help the tears from falling as he happily eyed his wife, who was finally smiling at him.

"Jack....I am so happy right now," she said, her eyes blinking away tears. "But much too tired to celebrate....sorry I cursed at you and told you to go to hell."

He laughed and kissed her nose softly. "It's ok, pumpkin."

The nurse walked over to the couple and smiled broadly, producing their baby boy for Janet to hold. Janet gasped as she finally held their new son.

"Oh my god, Jack, he's so beautiful! Look at those blue eyes," she breathed. Jack proudly looked at his new soon, running a finger over his smooth cheek. The baby had such delicate features- two blinking blue eyes framed by feathery eyelashes, a button nose, and a shock of blondish hair. Surprisingly, the baby wasn't crying anymore as it whimpered softly in Janet's arms.

"Have you two decided on a name yet?" the nurse asked.

Janet looked at Jack. "Well, I thought maybe my hubby here could decide on a name. I got to pick the last two." She giggled and winked at her husband.

Jack contemplated a few minutes, staring down at his baby, who appeared to be sleeping contentedly.

"Riley," he announced. " Riley Jacob Tripper."

Kate and Larry came back inside for an update. They had been at the little rooftop garden stealing a private moment together. They walked into Terri's room. "We have a new arrival." Richie informed them.

"When did you two have the time?" Larry asked sarcastically. Terri rolled her eyes at him. "Not us!" He looks over at Kate "Larry...No" shaking her head at him. Jack bursts in the room with the news. He hugs Larry and Kate handing them bubblegum cigars. They all go in to see Janet when she's ready for visitors.

Kate couldn't help feeling a little blue. She would've been due around this time as well, she did her best to hide it from her friends. Larry knew exactly how she felt. He was feeling the same way. They were very happy for their friends though and they were looking forward to Kate's retirement so they could travel and spend more time together.

Terri and Richie decided to take a walk to see the new baby in the family. Plus Terri was getting tired of being in bed all day. The nurses took the girls for a checkup, so Richie and Terri used the time to go visit their friends. First they stopped by the nursery to see the baby. Inside the nursery they saw the girls, then in the front they saw Riley. Terri gasped when she saw him. Other than her own daughters, he was the most beautiful girls in the nursery. Terri smiled and they walked to Janet's room. Jack was sleeping on a chair and Janet was half awake and staring out the window. Terri walked over to her and said "How do you feel mommy?"

Janet smiled at her friend and said "Pretty good considering."

Terri laughed "I just saw the baby. He is so beautiful! I can't believe that our babies are here."

Janet laughed and said "Well, they had to come sometime."

Terri said "True!"

She wondered what the future held for them. Even though she loved Richie, she wished Zack could be here to see his daughters. Janet seemed to sense Terri's feelings and started to talk to her.....

"Well, we're gonna get going Terri, we need to get the house cleaned and
ready for you and the kids" Kate said as she hugged Terri and Janet. "Yeah, we need to check in on our own kids and the new cat." Larry told them about Snowball's companion "She's siamese and her name is Sammie."
Everyone exchanged hugs and The Dallases left.

"We need to stop at the pharmacy." Larry informed his wife. She rolled her eyes as she complained. "Not the CVS on Wilshire, I really hate that place, they don't know what the hell they're doing." She was off on a tangent.
"Jeez, calm down Kate. We're going over to Walgreens, I had everything switched over there...alright?" He heaved a sigh of annoyance as he got on the freeway.

Janet could sense Terri was upset and she assumed it was because of Zack not being able to be there to witness the birth of his children. Janet held Terri's hand and smiled at her softly.

"It'll be ok...he's still watching," she whispered intuitively. Terri thanked her for the kind words and proceeded to get back to her room. She was tired and had to get her rest, as did Janet.

Kate and Larry decided to leave, and after some hugs and kisses, they were off.

Jack settled in to the chair next to her bedside. "Riley is so beautiful, isn't he?" he whispered dreamily.She nodded softly and soon dozed off to sleep, exhausted from giving birth.

He could hardly believe he was a father all over again. He was almost brought to tears when the nurses took him away to the nursery-- he wanted to hold him for as long as he could.

He'll be ours in a few days, he reminded himself.

Before anyone knew it, 4 days had passed and both Terri and Janet were ready to be discharged from the hospital. The nurses put their babies in their own handheld bassinets and handed them over to their Mommies.

"Oh my, look who's awake!" Janet cooed as she looked down at Riley. He kicked his legs in reply, making a soft gurgle noise. Terri held both twins in her arms, looking down at them lovingly.

"Such little angels, aren't they?" she whispered. Janet smiled and nodded. Finally, Richard and Jack arrived together in the Trippers' minivan, ready to get them home. Jack would be dropping off Richard and Terri at their new home.

Larry and Kate came over to help out for a few days. It was wondeful to see Terri and Richie so happy.

Before anyone knew it. The kids had grown up before their eyes. LJ and Robin were off to college and Kate had retired with full benefits.

Kate and Larry came home from a few weeks in Hawaii with presents for everyone and a major announcement. "Kate and I are renewing our vows." Larry told everyone.

"Wow....how romantic!" Janet exclaimed girlishly. Riley, who was now 4 years old, clung shyly to her leg, blinking up at his aunt and uncle with his torqouise colored eyes. Being that Bobby was off to college now, Riley had become "Mommy's Boy" while 18 year old Jamie(who would be departing for college in another year as well) had matured and become Janet's friend. She would be sad to see her go off to UCLA.

Jack picked up Riley and placed him on his leg. "Did you hear that, buddy? Your aunt and uncle are getting married all over again!" Riley squeaked with gentle laughter and the adults smiled. Riley had always been painfully shy and sensitive but was a good-natured boy all around.

Janet smiled at her friends. "So, when is the big day?" she exclaimed excitedly.

"April 29th -- our anniversary and Larry's birthday" Kate thought it would be a nice present. It'll just be a small gathering. You know, all of you, the kids. I thought we'd invite Mr. Furley, Felipe and Mr. Angelino too." Larry suggested.
"Jack, I was wondering if you and Richie would be my best men." He was hoping they'd say yes. Jack and Larry have been friends for over thirty years and Richie had become very close to Larry as well, almost like a brother.

"I'm sure you two know what i'm gonna ask you." Kate was hinting to Janet and Terri. "Matrons of honor, will you both be mine?" They laughed at the way Kate was asking them. She could be so silly sometimes.

"But of course, my dear!" Janet giggled. Both she and Terri hugged their friends in congratulations. It was so exciting to have another "wedding" in the family! This would give the girls plenty of opportunity to shop without being scolded by their penny pinching husbands...Janet contemplated it.

"Oh no...I know that look," Jack said. "Janet, you already have a dress to wear! In fact, you have plenty of dresses!"

Janet pursed her lips. "Jack, a girl needs a new dress for every new occasion...when will you ever learn?" she said sweetly. Jack sighed.

"Ok, Lar, I'll be your best man...this will be fun," he relented with a smile.

The girls planned out all the details while the guys chatted amiably about sports and t.v. Janet was so excited about the upcoming day!

"Watch and learn." she whispered to Janet and Terri. Kate goes over and sits on Larry's lap. "What're you doing Kate?" She wraps her arms around his neck "C'mon, I'm trying to watch the game." She kisses him passionately as Richie and Jack watch, mouthes agape and wide eyes, rendering him helpless as she goes into his back pocket. She pulls out a credit card and puts his wallet back in his pocket. When she's done, Larry is speechless. "Okay, i'm ready." Kate announced with a smile.

Terri giggled at her friends. She was so excited for Kate and Larry. Plus she always liked an excuse to go shopping.

"Of course I will be your matron of honor!! I love to go shopping!!"

Richie smiled and said to Larry "I would be honored to be your best man!"

They had definitely accepted Richie into the family. Over the past 4 years the friends had only grown closer.

So much had happened in Terri's life. John had graduated from college this past summer. After college, he married his long time girlfriend. They were happily married and living in Texas. John was going to Baylor University. He was in the pre-med program there. Terri couldn't have been happier.

Anna was in her sophmore year in college. She hadn't decided on a major yet. She was just having fun with the whole college scene.

Now for the twins. Terri definitely had her hands full with Zoe and Evie. They were like two little tornados. Always into everything. Evie was quiet and shy. Zoe, on the other hand liked to be the center of attention. Zoe and Evie were also Riley's little buddies. Where you saw the twins he wasn't far behind. The only problem that Terri had was that the girls looked so much alike. Sometimes she had a hard time telling them apart. The both had blonde hair with the slightest curl to it.

Terri laughed again at Kate and said "Okay Richie, you have Daddy duty!! Kate, Janet lets go girls, the mall awaits!! I'm driving!!"

With that they walked out. Leaving the men standing in stunned silence....

That whole week was filled with preparation for Kate and Larry's 2nd wedding. The guys picked up their tuxes at the cleaners and the women were at the hair salon getting the works.

They had a beautiful day for the wedding. Larry looked as handsome as ever, he had his hair touched up so there would be just a hint of gray in some places. He knew it turned Kate on. Kate walked into the bathroom as he was drying his hair. "Ahh!" In his girliest scream "You're not suppose to see me before the ceremony. It's bad luck." Kate laughed and hugged him tight. "You silly, it's the other way around." He kissed her head "I love you Kate and I can't wait to marry you all over again, Puss." He hugged her tight.

They were just about ready. "Who's gonna give me away?" Kate wondered.
"I forgot about that...hmm" Larry sat and thought about it. "Hey Larry, do you think Richie would, since Jack gave me away the first time?" Larry smiled at her. "I'm sure he would. Want me to send him up?" Kate nodded.

Larry went downstairs and outside. Richie was accepted pretty quickly with Terri's friends, he was quite surprised because he thought it would take a little adjusting. "Hey Richie, Kate needs to talk to you upstairs." Larry said as he passed him in the livingroom. "Oh..okay, Thanks Lar."

Terri and Janet were upstairs helping Kate get ready. "Terri, would you mind if Richie gave me away?" Kate was nervous asking her and even more asking him. "Do you think he'd want to?" She was shaking like a leaf. "Why am I so nervous, It's not like the first time." Janet was having a hard time hemming the dress.

Terri got choked up when Kate asked if she would mind if Richie gave her away. She answered with tears in her eyes "I would be honored if you would ask him. I think it is a wonderful idea. I think he would consider it an honor!!"

Richie walked into the room and said "Kate, Larry said that you wanted to see me?"

Kate swallowed hard and said "Well, Richie. It's just, ummmm..."

Terri smiled and reached for her hand and said "It's okay hon. There is no reason to be nervous. Just ask him."

"Ask me what?"

"Well, Richie, I need someone to walk me down the aisle. I was wondering if you would do it. I would ask Jack, but he did it the first time and..."

Kate realized that she was rambling, but couldn't help herself she was so nervous waiting for his answer.

It wasn't too long he answered her with a smile and misty eyes "Yes Kate, I would be honored to walk you down the aisle."

Kate was so happy she didn't know what to say so she just hugged him "Thank you Richie, I was so nervous about asking you." He hugged her back. She had calmed down enough for Janet to finish hemming her dress and Terri to fix her makeup. Richie kissed Terri and went to check on the kids.

It was time for the wedding. Janet Terri and Kate were in the livingroom.
The music started. Larry and Jack were standing by the judge. Janet and then Terri walked down the aisle. It was Kate's turn. Richie took her hand
and they walked down the aisle. Larry looked so handsome.

When they reached the altar. The ceremony began. The judge asked who would give this woman to this man. Richie spoke up. "I will" He kissed Kate's forehead and gave her a little smile. She stood beside Larry as the Judge spoke. When it came to the vows. They faced each other. Larry spoke first.

"Kate, sweetheart. There aren't enough words in the world to describe how much I love you. Twenty-five years, I can hardly believe it. You gave me two wonderful children, a beautiful home...I love you so much baby."

It was Kate's turn now.

"Larry, honey, Nobody has ever made me feel the way you do. I still melt when you touch me. Everytime I look into your eyes, I fall deeper in love with you. You're a wonderful husband, a wonderful father. I love the idea of growing old with you. I love you too sweetie, very much."

They placed the rings on each others fingers and the judge spoke. "By the power invested in me by god and the state of California, I pronounce you Husband and Wife -- again, you may kiss--your wife. Larry takes Kate in his arms. They kiss passionately. When they were done Kate looked flushed.
It was time for the reception. They all went inside. Kate and Larry had the first dance. "Those Sweet Words" by Norah Jones played. Larry sang to Kate as they danced. Terri and Richie, Jack and Janet joined them.

Jack and Janet slow danced nearby, pulling each other closer as they swayed to the music. Janet could see Kate smiling contentedly as she rested her head on Larry's shoulder.

Even after all this time, we are all still in love as we were the day we met, she realized. She looked up at her husband in admiration.

"I love you, Jack," she whispered.

"I love you too, pumpkin," he said softly, tilting her chin up so he could kiss her on her full lips. Janet's eyes fell upon Jamie, who was getting awfully close with a boy her age who worked for the reception hall. She looked so lovely in her rose colored dress and Janet was sure that the young man took notice as well. His hand brushed against her shoulder as they talked intimately by the buffet table.

"Jack, look," she hushed, motioning towards their daughter. He smiled when he saw Jamie laughing happily.

"She's growing up so fast," he said sadly. Pretty soon Jamie would be graduating high school and embarking on her own journey to college for a major in veterinary science(all the years of horse back riding had fueled her passion for animals). Jack was so proud of her; she had matured greatly and had wisened so much throughout the years. He figured baby Riley had a part in it- Jamie had spent the last few years watching over him while Janet or Jack had to get back to work. It had matured her so much.

"We need to cherish these years...time is precious," Janet reminded him. He nodded and they continued to dance slowly, embracing each other.

Janet wasn't sure what was in store for their families, but she hoped the future would be just as satisfying as their past together. Their love and friendship was all they had.

It was soon time to cut the cake. Larry and Kate carefully fed each other a slice of cake. There was more dancing until it was time for Kate and Larry to leave for their 2nd honeymoon. They decided that this time they would go back East and spend a couple days in Boston and then head up to New Hampshire. One of Kate's relatives left them a huge farmhouse and that's where they would be staying.

"Larry, I was thinking, while we're away, we should let the Gray's and the Tripper's house sit for us." Larry thought about it. "I don't see why not. We wouldn't have to board the dog. We might actually save money."

They talked to Jack and Janet who loved the idea and then to Terri and Richie. "How would the four of you like to house sit for us?." Larry asked them. The two couples agreed.
