Jackie? I like all the characters except Jackie. She was just a Goofball and was not funny. Added nothing to the show at all.

I actually liked Jackie. She was Roseanne's rock and best friend through it all. I can't imagine the show without her. Though I must say, Jackie got stupider and weirder as each season went by.... she was a very neurotic character towards the end.

It's important to note Laurie Metcalf who played Jackie, won 3 Emmys for the role, more than anyone else on the show. I must say, Laurie was perhaps the most talented and gifted actor on the show too.

I always thought the character of DJ was completely useless.

Jackie Is One Of My Absolute Favorite Characters. If You Haven't Seen the First 4 Seasons Then You Probally Think She's Goofy. She Was Real Good Until She Had The Baby After That She Acted Gay. Two Really good Episodes With Her In Them Are "An Officer And A Gentleman" and "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home"

I liked her at first, but she got on my nerves as the show went on (actually, the whole show did). The one I really couldn't stand was Sandra Bernhard - I just can't even take the constant, bitchy look on her face.

Yea I was the same way with Jackie. She eventually became to much probably around the time she began going out with Fred. She basically became a basket case.

I loved Jackie. I actually loved her throughout the entire show. Even when she became a complete nut, she still amused me. The show would not have been the same without her. I did like her a lot more in the first few seasons, but I never disliked her. There was just something about her that made her so great. I think what I like most about her is that her humor was so subtle in a way. It made her more hilarious. Many of the show's funny moments came from Jackie, in my opinion. She definately deserved her Emmy's.

I liked Jackie in the beginning until she had her baby. After she had her baby she just went wacko to put it nicely. For some reason her character just lost all its fun to me and became another dumb character in Roseanne World. I love the show with the execption of the last season, but she along with others around Roseanne became stupid and annoying.

Jackie was my second favorite character on the show right after Darlene. I thought she was hilarious in both the early, and later seasons, although I liked her character more in the early years. I don't think the show would have been half as good as it was if she weren't on it. She didn't win 3 Emmy's for nothing.

In The 7th And 8th Seasons I Still Liked Her But Then In The 9th Season She Became One Of My Favorite's Again Because Of Her Quote "I Helped Pick The Numbers" When She Went Down On One Knee

I think the main thing that made Jackie Goofy was her dumb facial expressions

is it me or did Jackie look more and more like Don Knotts as the series progressed?

I loved her... sometimes even more than Roseanne. At times, her character did get annoying though.

Her phone call to Annie Barbara that their dad had died had me crying in the floor...

   :brent :brent :brent

That is hands down one of the greatest Jackie moments of the series!

Wow, Jackie is possibly my favorite character out of any show ever! It kind of makes me a little depressed to know that a fan of the show didn't like her. I actually didn't know if I wanted to make this post because I didn't know how I could possibly express how much I LOVED JACKIE.

:rotflmao: :rotflmao:   :yourock: :bighug: :thanks: :clap :clap :bouncers :bouncers :bouncers

Yeah, that should do.

Seriously, she was written so brilliantly, and acted so perfectly. I just loved her. She was so neurotic and crazy. Her character did become a goofy generic caricature of her former self around season 8, but she was great even then.

That's crazy! Jackie was the best! Yes, I hated how the writers made her a total nut in the last 2 seasons but come on, she gave us the funniest scenes on the entire show.

Let me give you the best examples -

In the episode where Roseanne, Dan and Jackie got high in the bathroom - Jackie is sitting in the bathtub and says, "Is this the sink? Am I shrinking?"

And need I remind you of the time when she told Bev that she was pregnant? Let me refresh your memory -

JACKIE: Mom, I've got some news for you. I'm pregnant. I went out with a guy I hardly knew, WE HAD SEX FOR HOURS and I got pregnant. And I'm not going to marry him!!! I'm keeping the baby, and if it's a girl, I'm naming it Gidget!" :rotflmao:

- That scene was shown when Laurie Metcalf won her first emmy I believe.

And the phone call to Aunty Barbara - that was pure genius!

Jackie is hillarious!

I liked her in seasons 1-6. I liked her loony-ness in season 8, but I didn't like her that much in season 9.

I loved Jackie. That Auntie Barbara thing is THEE BEST! BUT!!! I hate how she became SO MASCULINE towards the last years. It happened right in the middle of her marriage to Fred. She used to look good when she wore casual clothes, had her hair long and then WHAM! she would wear a sexy dress. That was awesome. Then, she went DUD! No excitement, no appeal, nothing.

I really think Laurie Metcalf was great as Jackie. I mean I don't live and die by Hollywood awards at all, but she won three consecutive Emmy's for a reason.
