Where's the DVD??

Not long ago Anchor Bay issued That Girl volume 1 to DVD, yet now, only a short while later it isn't available commercially anymore. I can't imagine it didn't sell well, it's a classic! I've seen the reviews about the quality of the discs not being stellar, but I still would have purchased it as it would be nice to have in any fans collection of vintage TV. Besides which, I enjoyed the show!!

Anyone know if the show will get another release sometime soon?

There is still no word on when they will release it on DVD, but I know you can buy the VHS on Amazon.com. I ordered from them at Christmas time. But I didn't get it until March becuase they were out of stock at the time.

Actually there was one DVD put out not too long ago, but it seems to be unavailable now everywhere. Anchor Bay was the distributor. The Amazon reviews regarding the quality weren't very good, so i'm assuming the reason the DVD is currently not in print is due to the lack of quality, & so it may not have sold well do to that reason. But if you do a search for That Girl at Amazon & select DVD in your search, you will see that it was available. Amazon merchants are selling it supposedly factory sealed for $150.00 or some outrageous figure like that. I would never pay such a ridiculous fee for a DVD. But amazingly there are some who would. And bear in mind the fact that the quality was mediocre at best. I'd hold out for another release & would imagine the quality would be better to boot.

My mom's friend brought that girl dvd when it came out in the 90's and she is going to give it to me. It's still in good condition. :)

Anchor Bay replied to my question about releasing this not long ago. They no longer hold the rights. Don't look to them for a release.

Sorry for taking so long to write. I love that girl dvd. When I got it from my friend it was still in the plastic wrapper.

Yes we know that no one will release the DVD anytime soon. But sometimes you find the dvd in strange places or a place you don't expect.

The DVD that you got, what is the company that released it, and what year was the DVD released?

Anchor Bay Entertainment and according to the box it says 1992. There is one that was released in 2001 but I didn't get that from my mom's friend becuase it only has 9 episodes. The gift box I have has all seasons. I haven't got the chance to see all epsidoes becuase I have been busy and things that are personal.

I'm kind of surprised, because I don't remember there even being DVDs in 1992.

Yeah I know. It was on of those things where you just stump on it in the stores. I knew it was coming out in the 90's but never heard anymore on it. They really didn't make it public back then.
