It would be pretty tough. I've been on the internet more lately but I'll say I could do more without the internet then cable. If I didn't have cable I couldn't get no channels. Theirs to many mountains in my area.

Cable. My computer can also function as a DVD player. And chances are that if I really wanted to see something that aired, I could download it later.

Why?

No reason, I'm just not a fan of the show and wanted to make a smart ass comment.

Also, that's on Fox, don't you get that channel without Cable?

Same here. Since my parents limited our TV time, TV hasn't been as important to me as computer.

I wouldn't want to, but I could live without cable.
However, I don't think I could live without the computer. The only TV I really watch is primetime on local channels, and occassional stuff on VH1 and MTV, nothing I couldn't live without.

I would say I would give up cable because I have a lot of my favorite TV shows either on DVD or on VHS. And some TV shows can be digitized and shared, anyway. I choose to keep internet because I have become dependent on emailing and/or instant messaging with several important people in my life.

I'll have to go with cable. Even on those premium channels the retro shows like The Brady Bunch are still edited for more commercials  , while many shows are coming out on DVD ... uncut!

I didn't add up the numbers, but it looks like most people would dump cable before dumping the Net.

I can go without cable for a year; no problem but don't take away the internet from me. I need it very much to do a lot of things.

I actually have gone without both cable, and the internet for about a year, one for financial, and the other for technical reasons. And for me, going without cable was much much easier. I don't recall complaining about not having cable once, whereas, I was bummed out everyday at not having internet access. I found that not having contact with my friends, was much worse than not being able to watch my favorite shows.

i think that it would be comparatively easy to go without cable for any length of time

of course i DO call up TimeWarner and bitch and moan when the cable so much flickers.... (mess with MY vertical hold will they??!?)

I'd ditch the cable....I only watch about 2 hours of tv a night, so I could do without it...plus, I've got the DVDs and stuff.

I've had tons of problems with Charter. Just last week the cable internet/cable besides the local channels went out. Goes out all too often. They've gotten better, but not the outages, while they happen less often, are longer now when they do.

ANYWAY... this is a toughie, but I think I could do away with cable. I've got hundreds of VHS/DVD's I can watch. As long as I can keep ABC/CBS/FOX/NBC I'll be fine. Even that would only be a couple of hours a day(mainly primetime). There's no way I could do without the internet now though.
