Cut episode?

I watched the episode where Louise and George had marital problems and Tom and Helen tried to help them. It was the one where they hit each other with the pillows and bats and stuff. In the early part of the show, the part where Louise and George did the word association thing (Louise said one thing and George said the first thing that came to his mind) was cut out. Why'd NAN cut that part out? Did they think the episode was too long?

This is a never-ending pet peeve of Nick-at-Nite viewers(myself included). All the sitcoms are edited from their original broadcasts so that Nick at Nite can air more commercials telling us how wonderful they think they are. It happens with syndicated sitcoms and dramas too.
