One of you joined after the board software upgrade, and the other - well...close enough (Dec 2004). The calendar was a feature that we had up for about 24 hours in January.
It's future is still undecided. Maybe you'll have an answer by the next Shaving Day.

i know the feeling, son. i have the ability to make myself truly believe that E V E R Y T H I N G i think of is HILARIOUS. i don't do it often because it makes me so hystercial. a few years ago i was eating soup and my mom was watching the discovery channel and out of nowhere i burst out laughing and i couldn't stop because everything i looked at around me made me laugh harder and on the discovery channel there was this digital model of some animal and i thought it was so funny it had an imprint in my mind and the next day at school i kept thinking about it and laughing. i have to deal with that every day though. i'm always thinking about something i saw on family guy the night before or something and and trying not to laugh so people wont ask me what the hell im on. the end.
I've bumped this thread back up, as after four and a half years the calendar is back. This time, to prevent the whole "Shaving Day"-type stuff, the calendar is currently set to read-only.
I've gone through and added all the major US and Canadian holidays I can think of (excluding one or two that a bug in the forum software won't currently allow me to add), the site's birthday (January 19th), and of course Festivus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Festivus)and International Talk Like a Pirate Day. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Talk_Like_a_Pirate_Day). I may be forgetting a few things, but I'm a bit under the weather today.
In the future more things will be added - I'd like to integrate a weekly listing of all TV DVDs to be released each week, among other things. As there are 40,000 users and limited real estate users birthdays are doubtful, I'd say. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be all ears.
