He is so animated...!!!He is a true blue friend.No matter what trouble Ralph starts or throws Norton out ......he remains friends with Ralph...!!!

Alice-'cause she was the sanest person,and she had to be
with a husband like Ralph.LOL!!!!:)
btw:The Alice I was used to watching was Sheila Macrae from
The Jackie Gleason Show when it was down in Miami.
This is also a good trivia question as I believe there was
another Alice who originated the character before Audrey
Meadows took the part when it went to series.
Does anyone know WHO the original Alice was?

I felt Ed Norton was one of a kind!! Very similar to Fred Mertz being one of a kind!! There are certain characters on various sitcoms where the specific actor/actress could not be replaced!! I remember once Jackie Gleason had mentioned that if he couldn't get Art Carney to play Ed Norton, he would NOT try to replace him with another actor!! I think it's obvious as to why he felt that way. I do feel that Audrey Meadows was the BEST "Alice." I hadn't seen Sue Ann Langdon, so I can't be totally objective about this. I did see Pert Kelton & Sheila MacRae, and in my opinion, they didn't come close to Audrey Meadows!! When I think of the "Honeymooners" I think of Gleason, Carney, Meadows & Randolph!!! Of course, that's just my opinion!!
