View Full Version : Serious "All That" Question - The Hiatus (Old Cast to New Cast)
Why exactly did Nickelodeon only have 10 new episodes of "All That"
produced in the 6th season? I believe that there have normally been 19
episodes produced for each season of "All That." But the remaining
episodes of that particular season involved "Best Of..." complications.

Obviously, I would presume that part of hiatus was made in order to
give the producers time to build the new cast. But I can't believe
that "All That" was in such despair that they needed to completely
start all over.
The cast for the 6th season if I'm not mistaken was: Amanda Bynes, Leon
Frierson, Christy Knowings, Danny Tamberelli, Mark Saul, Nick Cannon,
Josh Server (who was at this point, the last remaining original cast
member), and Gabriel Iglesias.
I am not sure exactly what happened. But this is what I know. After the 6th season, most of the original producers and writers quit the show. And so did a number of the castmembers. And yes you are correct about the 6th season cast.
So I guess with so many people leaving, Nick decided to completely overhal the show. The situation was similar to SNL between the 5th and 6th seasons, when almost everyone quit.

I read one place that said there were a lot of reasons why there was such a short season:
-The writers and producers had left.
-A few of the cast members (mostly Amanda, Josh, Danny, and Christy) had wanted to leave for some time and move on to new things.
-At the time the sixth season had begun, there were a lot of new Nick shows that were starting (most of them are gone now) and they wanted to make room for them in the budget.
-The producers had originally desired to end it after season 6.
Those are what I heard
That is what I thought. Also I heard, Nick briefly canceled All That, then had a last minute change of heart and wanted to continue the show, and paid Dan Schnider, the only original producer that would agree to return, a lot of money to re launch All That.

I heard that rumor too. I doubt it would be true, but then again you ever know. I also heard that the initial decision to put the show on hiatus was literally a week after Josh said that he was leaving. Coincidence? I think not.
...Josh,...had wanted to leave for some time and move on to new things.
Which IS irony, because starting with the upcoming season, Josh is now back, as a WRITER for the show.

Yeah, this was the last season of greatness, and it was obvious that the show was dying. The kids grew and looked so mature, actually too mature. Amanda was starting "Amanda Show", and the Kenan and Kel saga was over, so they had to cut it short.

That makes sense, because Season 6 ended in 2000, and then we waited 2 years for Season 7.
