This week's theme is '70s dance songs. ANWAR ROBINSON will perform EARTH, WIND & FIRE's "September," CARRIE UNDERWOOD boogies to DONNA SUMMER's "MacArthur Park" and CONSTANTINE MAROULIS hopes to stay alive with the BEE GEES' "Nights On Broadway."

LMAO in their pre-package videos, they are showing the finalists dancing. How corny can they get? :lol:

Constantine starts really well, and does a pretty good job. It wasn't outstanding, but it was good enough.

Randy - Good choice, Las Vegas performance, no originality, it was alright, not "oh my god"
Paula - Everything its about you is "oh my god", have a habit of picking the right song.
Simon - You're on a role, but it was like a waiter in a Spanish night club (WTF?)

2. Carrie Underwood - MacArthur Park

She looks like Dolly Parton. The verses are good, it's a little hard to hear her, but the high notes are great. The last note was LONG and really good. :lol: It wasn't my ultimate favorite from Carrie :( But she still did great.

Randy - You're officially in the dog pound, unbelievable vocal, one of the best singers in this competition, excellent, excellent.
Paula - Wow on the last note, bravo bravo bravo. Simon turned 53 on that last note.
Simon - You sang it very well, but her look is like Barbie meets the Stepford Wives

Carrie talks about why she chose that song with Ryan and she's actually pretty funny.

Yeah, I'm afraid I sure didn't think it was her best performance. Couldn't hear the words properly - like the music was overpowering or she was slurring the words together. Doesn't help that I've always HATED the song ever since it came out. What the hell - nobody - even the writer can figure out that business about the cake in the rain. Dropping acid while writing or what?!

Also think the outfit is HORRIBLE for her! I agree with Simon there. Still, overall she pulled it off.


Scott's little dancing sequence is a whole other story! He seems to get more and more like William Hung each week! Is it possible for someone to get even goofier looking? My God! Actually the song he chose wasn't bad, but I just cannot watch the gewf!!!

3. Scott Savol - Everlasting Love

Ugh, it was good for Scott. Wasn't as good as Clay's thoug, obviously.

Randy - 3 weeks straight, right song. No problems.
Paula - Agree with Randy
Simon - has been wondering why he's still in the competition, but it's because he's an ordinary guy doing well -- but he wasn't excited about the performance.

To me, ANYTHING Clay sings is perfection!!! That guy could make O Canada sound good!!! I like the song and Scott didn't do too horribly! Just wish he'd stop thumping his chest thing - makes him look like a gorilla!!

Yeah on the verses, the background music overpowered her, and you could barely hear her, but it was still alright. It was great vocally, but she barely moved/danced. Oh well.

Pretty good night so far. Anthony REALLLLY impressed me. I have been terribly disappointed in him the past few weeks, but he redeemed himself. Hopefully Anwar will do the same.

I thought he did an excellent job last week. But yeah, before that he did nothing for me.

He mentioned how he's finally "clicked" in and to me, it shows - looks much more at ease and enjoying himself on stage. Geez it's getting tough again this year - so many really, really talented competitors now!

5. Vonzell Solomon - I'm Every Woman

She starts it off as a ballad. She looks beautiful!! You can hear the background singers very clearly though. However, Vonzell is doing well. Another fantastic week. Last note was excellent.

Randy - Hard song, you worked it out, a few sharps and flats in the beginning
Paula - I love you Vonzell, best performance so far tonight
Simon - Right on the edge vocally, your personality can carry a song like that.

She started out HORRIBLE, but she improved throughout her imporance. The freaking backsingers are annoying the heck out of me though. Shes not as good as I thought she would be..not her best. 8/10 for her.

A standing obligation for Paula. Audience LOVED it.

6. Anwar Robinson - September

He .... really likes disco, according to his film clip. He does a pretty good job. His dancing his funny, he's like hopping and stuff. It's pretty good overall. It'll be hard to pick someone to leave.

Randy - Started a little pitchy, but it was "da bomb" at the end, it was good, it was good
Paula - This was awesome, you had fun, great performance
Simon - Wasn't as good as Paula said. Very good ending, but it wasn't a winning performance.

Dude, tonight was my FAVORITE episode so far [besides top 12 boys night -.-]. They all did good, even the ones I dont like! My favs though were Anthony (!!!!!!!!), Bo, and Constantine. No wait, I really liked Scott tonight, a lot. But I still want him out. Good song though. I love disco though. Im pissed though because we lost power lastnight so my VCR reset the time speed and I forgot so I missed the last 2. :cuss:

How the final 7 should round out, get rid of Scott already, I think Anthony could make it into the Final 4 because it seems like he has a pretty good fan base, however when it comes to singing he needs to go before the final 4. Vonzell should be in the remaining few, but somehow I doubt she will get very much further. Anwar needs to go soon too.
