Whenever I get up from sitting or laying down for a long time, I always get dizzy. Like you know when after you get your picture taken you have white spots in front of your face from the flash? That's how I feel when that happens. Does anyone know what that could be? Is that I'm out of shape? I've been doing some kind of excersice everyday since Februrary though.

I used to get that feeling too,and the doctor told me that it was due to low blood pressure,so you might want to check that out.People who experience dizziness should report it to their doctor. A doctor can identify what is causing the dizziness.

I told a lady I work with that I feel like that all the time. Ill be working and all of a sudden BOOM its as if I could fall right over. A couple of times Id see black too. Im also always really cold and tired- certain times of the day my body will just shut down and I could pass out sleeping and she told me its probably from low blood pressure and I should get it checked out.

I have the same problem. The doctor told me to drink plenty of fluids; especially the ones like Gatorade with electrolytes...the lack of potassium makes your blood pressure drop

low blood pressure most likely.
if it isnt that, get your inner ears checked...pretty sure i told me ear issue story in sarah's dizzy thread- but thats another scenario.

Yeah, that's definetly something to check into. Are you on some kind of meds? A lot of meds (especially ones that play around with your brain chemicals) can cause dizziness.

Exactly what I was going to suggest. Its usually low BP. See your doctor, but you can also google "low blood pressure symptoms" and checkout what comes up. It'll list all the different symptoms and may help with the diagnosis.

My mom says it's because I sometimes eat late at night. I don't understand how that could cause dizziness.

I agree! If anything, dizziness can be caused by hunger so I'm not sure why that would be.

Gee...I eat at 3am before I go to bed. Doesn't affect me that way.

Same here - I've never found that and I frequently eat just before crashing (althought that probably isn't good but more for acid reflux).

It may also be low blood sugar. Get it checked out.

Actually if it were hypoglycemia, there would be many more symptoms - sweating, shaking, heart palipatations, crankiness, headache, blurring of vision, etc..
It's more likely to be low BP, but either way it should be looked into.

Oh meangya, Ive had some of those people. I HATE when my sugar drops. I was driving with Amanda and her bro and we went to Shop&Save because I was hungry, but when we got there they were PISSING ME OFF so I screamed and got back in the car, drove them home and kicked them out. Then I went home, had something to eat, and came back all happy. Ugh.

Its awful isn't it? I get all those symptoms, extreme sleepiness, plus a headache - also a bit of an earache - its really weird. I had it happen in a laundrymat one time and threw a fit!!
My mother used to actually go unconscious - into a low blood sugar coma - just like in diabetes. It was really scary at first until I knew what was happening. If we gave her orange juice, a candy or banana (if she was still partially conscious) it would usually bring her right out of it.
That's why I don't think just dizziness would be low blood sugar - its a lot nastier than that. I used to get the same symptoms upon sitting up quickly or standing and the doctor said it was low BP. If its bad enough, you can faint with it.
It may also be an inner ear infection if you're getting pain, impaired hearing or discharge from one ear with it.

I get that a few times a year. Sometimes I will be getting out of bed after sleeping 8 hours and walk down my stairs and feel light headed. Usually I will feeling so so,not too bad so I get my morning coffee, Take a swig and then the feeling gets worse. The hot coffee doesn't help. Here I am ready to keel over and I drink cofffe. Usually I head to cool room and laid down. With a few minutes the feeling passes. It is usually blood pressure. I have had high blood pressure for years. I am under dr's supervision and take pills. The best thing to do when symptons come on is laid down. It is tough if you are out in public. I have felt dizzy in stores and man is weird. I find a seat and sit down. Don't wait it out standing, for you will be on the floor in minutes. I have done that although I was with someone and I passed out. In the summer stay out of the hot sun. Don't be a baked potato.

Been there! I had that happen in the dressing room of a fancy women's wear store! I actually passed right out and woke up with two clerks standing over me fanning me! Talk about your embarrassing moments! Luckily I hadn't been in the middle of putting something on or it really would have been bad!

That story brings me back to Disneyworld. I am standing in line for some underground ride with my mother. I tell her gosh it is hot standing here. It was the first week in Nov. My first time in Florida. She said Don't get so close to the other line waiters. Make a little space. The next thing I get dizzy. My vision kind of went. Within a minute I am on the ground. My mother hollers Can someone help me. I was dead weight cluttering up the line. I guess she found someone for I woke up next to a wall in the shade. The nurse comes with a wheelchair and ask my mother Do you need a wheelchair. My mom said It's not for me It for the young one. By now I had come to. I think i was given ammonia sniff packets. The only good thing the Disney attendants pushed us to the first spot in the line. My mom thought later gee going underground and I just fainted. I was fine for the rest of our visit to Disneyworld. But boy is it hot down there in November.

Abit off topic here, but you really shouldn't eat late at night. The digestive system slows down, and food takes longer to digest, and will be stored as fat. This probaly doesnt apply to everyone, but I find that when I eat earlier,I'm better off,and I dont have a weight problem so it seems to work for me.I eat at about 5:30pm when I'm at home (it differs if I go out to eat) and then I have dessert, and go for a walk, giving the food time to break down.Plus from an early age my Mum always told me that it was bad to eat so late at night. Now I'm convinced that if I eat something heavy right before I go to bed,I'll gain weight. It doesn't matter though,I dont think about weight often,I'd go crazy if I did.
